The Body Shop Face Masks – Current faves πŸŒΈ

Hi. Hello.

Wow it’s been so long since I’ve written a blog post and I’m super sorry that it’s taken FOREVER. I’ve been busy with work, travel and MY NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL! Yes you heard that right. I am now vlogging!!!!! I’ve been wanting to do it for so long and I finally took the leap of faith and posted my first 3 vlogs!!!

If you wanna subscribe to my channel – click here! It would mean the world to meee πŸ’œ

Okay. So now that I started vlogging, I won’t be able to update my blog as much as I did before BUUUUUUT rest assured I will still be the same old leadiiinglady – meaning I’ll still post about skincare, makeup, fashion and other things. But instead of writing it, I’ll be talking about it.

ANYWAYYYY. Time to talk about my current skincare faves! And they are from The Body Shop.

When I first saw these face masks, I was kinda hesitant to buy them because of the price (1K+ for just ONE tub). Yeah, I know, super pricey. And so I decided to do my research first. Turns out, these masks were doing so well!!! And so when I went to the states, I decided to buy one on my very first day there – The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask.

1. Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I bought this one first for two reasons: one, because it’s their best seller and two, because I thought that among all these masks, this one suited mine the most. And I was right!!!!!!

This mask is perfect for my skin! Quick background – I’m combination but a bit more on the oily side and so my pores get clogged up all the time. And so I needed something that would really clean my pores and purify my skin. This mask aims to do just that. The Himalayan Charcoal works to unclog the pores and deep cleanse the skin to rid it of impurities. If you guys are familiar with skincare, you’d know that clay masks and charcoal masks are holy grails for those with acne and problematic skin – aka ME.

Aside from it cleansing my skin, this mask also exfoliates it! After applying the mask and leaving it on for 10 minutes, I would wash it off while rubbing it circles GENTLY on my skin. It would leave my face feeling clean and smooth. Just the way I like it!

For those of you with sensitive skin, just be careful! The mask may cause redness or a stinging sensation. If it does, maybe it’s just not for you 😦

2. Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

This is the second mask I got! The ingredient, rice, has always been good to my skin. I just love the feeling and the brightness it gives me. Which is why after enjoying the first mask so much, I had to buy this next! Tbh though, before getting this, I haven’t used the ingredient Ginseng as much but I heard it’s very good for brightening your complexion and caring for dark spots which is why I thought… WHY NOT?!

I LOVE THIS MASK. My only regret is not buying this sooner!!! One, it smells good!!! I love the smell – it’s as if I were getting a legit facial in a spa or something. Two, it feels good!!! When I put it on my skin, it doesnt sting or feel weird. Three, it leaves me looking brighter than ever! Like I said, rice has never let me down BUT RICE with GINSENG??? DAMN. What a great combo <333

I will be using this mask every week for sure!!!

3. Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask

Okay. So this isn’t in the exact same category as the first two. It’s not a wash-off mask. It’s a leave-on mask that you put on before going to bed. But I’m adding it here because it’s another one of my faves.

Tea tree oil has always helped me, whether it be in the form of a cleanser, toner or oil. And so when I saw this mask, I had to take a chance and buy it. I tried it that night and I was not disappointed. Tea tree is great for those of you with troubled skin because it helps clear the imperfections as well as get rid of bacteria and soothe your skin.

When I used this, I woke up to skin that wasn’t red at all. Usually my skin gets red but the redness wasn’t there. My skin didn’t feel irritated or look too oily. In fact, my skin looked good. And so if you have problematic skin like me and you’re looking for a night mask, this could be the one for you! I really salute The Body Shop for their Tea Tree line because everything is just amazing – from their masks down to their tiny Tea Tree Oil bottles. And so go go go guys!

***

I know this was a short review but I hope this helped you guys out!!! If you guys are thinking about buying these masks, go for it! Remember, you don’t need to buy them all at once. Buy one first and take your time. Don’t forget to do a patch test just in case!

I’ll be updating my blog again soon with more makeup shoots and so stay tuned for that! πŸ’œ

Let’s talk about Clay Masks.

Hi guys! I’m baaack! And as you can see, leadiiinglady has got a new look πŸ˜‰

My blog is now almost 7 months old and so I’ve decided to upgrade to a more sophisticated theme. At first this was more of a hobby but I’ve been enjoying it so much that I think I’m now ready to take it to the next level! I’ve started a few collaborations and so watch out for that. Plus, I’m open to more opportunities and so feel free to send me an email or a dm on Instagram!

Anyway, back to my blog post!

Let’s talk about clay masks.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with clay masks. The thing is, it’s really hard to find a good clay mask for sensitive. Most clay masks tend to be very drying and tightening. Aside from that, a lot of them make the skin red and stingy. I personally have sensitive skin and so I really had to find the right one for me.

LUCKILY, I didn’t find just one but TWO perfect clay masks for me and my skin and I’m here to share them with you!

NeoGen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

One of my fave masks of all time!!! But tbh, it’s not a leave-on mask. What makes this mask so great is how gentle and effective it is for me. It does not sting whatsoever and it makes my face feel squeaky clean. Like I said, you don’t leave it on your face. You apply it with your fingers and rub it all around in a circular motion. When you first apply it, the mask will bubble (you will look like a cloud hahaha) – after about 5 minutes of spreading it all around, it’ll eventually flatten and that’s the time you wash it off.

The consistency is really bubbly and light (as you can see above) and so it can get a bit messy especially when applied but otherwise, it does what it’s supposed to. After using it, it’s the best feeling in the world! My face feels so fresh and clean – plus my pores appear much smaller and cleaner. It was love at first sight with this mask. I saw it and I just had to buy it after reading so many great reviews! And I am definitely not disappointed πŸ˜‰

I bought this from BeautyMNL!

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Clay Mask

I’ve only used this twice but I am already in love with this product! I’ve always felt iffy about leave on clay masks because they really tend to dry my skin out but I got lucky with this one!

I’ve been looking at this line from the Body Shop because of all the natural ingredients used. I decided to buy this one because it’s used to mainly purify and that’s what I needed. I was really tempted to buy the other ones too cause they look so pretty but ugh this mask is pretty pricey ($28).

Anyway, I love the ingredients used especially Charcoal and Tea Tree! Charcoal takes off the excess sebum and cleans the pores while Tea Tree helps get rid of bacteria and purifies.

At first I was worried about the smell because of my sensitive skin. The smell is very strong and minty and so I was afraid I was going to breakout but guess what??? My skin didnt have any bad reaction whatsoever. In fact, my skin wasn’t even red once I washed the mask off! It was LESS red and that barely ever happens. Which means that this mask really cleaned and calmed my skin down.

Just a note! When you use the mask, you’ll experience a bit of a cool tightening feeling but that is completely normal! Don’t forget I have sensitive skin and this mask worked for me! And so I’m pretty sure it’ll work for you too! πŸ˜‰ Since this was such a success, I’m already looking forward to buying more masks from the same line!!!

I got this from The Body Shop for $28!

That’s it for my clay mask post!!! Stay tuned for a makeup post coming soon πŸ’œ

May Loves: Skincare πŸŒΈ

Hi guys! Leadiiinglady here! And I’m back with another skincare post!!! πŸ’œ

Since May has ended, it’s time to look back at what a wonderful month it has been and what better way to do that than review some of my favorite skincare products for the month 🌸

Last May, I really wanted to focus on two things: cleaning + tightening my pores and healing my dark spots. And so most of the products I have on this list are designed to do exactly that!

1. NeoGen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This cleanser is LOVE. No joke! It makes my skin feel so loved because of how clean and refreshed it makes me feel! I bought this cleanser because I really wanted a clay mask that would really clean my pores. I get a lot of comedonal acne and so I really like making sure my skin is super clean or else the oil/dirt would cause more acne.

The problem though with clay cleansers is that they can get a bit messy and may irritate your skin but with this cleanser, I experienced neither. It was really easy to put on, it didn’t drip anywhere – all you have to do is spread it all over your face and massage it in until the bubbles go away. I usually leave it on for five minutes before rinsing it with lukewarm water. After I use it, I do feel a bit of tightness but not the dry kind – my skin still feels plump and hydrated. Plus, my pores appear just a bit smaller (not a drastic change) but definitely smaller!

I love this cleanser! I use it once or twice a week depending on how my skin feels!

I bought this from BeautyMNL!

2. V&M Naturals Clear Y Rosy Scrub

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been looking for a good facial scrub for a while now but I haven’t found any and then this came along. It’s P850 for 250g! It seems pretty pricey but trust me, it’s a lot of product.

What I noticed first about this product was the smell. It has a light sweet smell. It’s not too much – it’s just right. The consistency is a bit thick and so when you take it out of the tub, it won’t easily drip and so it’s not messy. I ended up using only a little bit of product because the little bit that I got already covered my whole face!

I really like this product for two reasons: one, it’s a good scrub – meaning it was able to get rid of my dry skin and dirt & two, it does NOT strip my skin of its natural oils! I was so worried that after using this scrub my skin would feel icky and dry it was the exact opposite! My skin felt plump and more moisturized! I know, crazy!!! But I swear, my skin felt soft and smooth!

I got this from BeautyMNL!

3. It’s SKIN LI Effector

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Licorice is πŸ‘ŒπŸ» It is great for two things: skin lightening & balancing oils! Which is why when I tried it, it worked perfectly! At first I was afraid (I was petrified….. jk HAHAHAHA) that Licorice wouldn’t work for my skin because like other ingredients, some aren’t for everyone. But lo and behold, I didn’t have a bad reaction! Instead, my skin appeared less red and less oily!!!

This product comes in a small blue bottle. The product itself though is yellow and the consistency is a bit watery but easily absorbed! Also, it has a sweet smell but it quickly disappears after it’s been applied!

I love this! I apply it every morning and evening and so far my skin has been loving it too! Make sure though to test it before you apply it to your whole face to make sure that your skin doesn’t react badly towards it!

I got this from Althea Korea!

4. dear klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been a fan of dear klairs ever since I first used their Vitamin C drop! (still love it btw) Anyway, after seeing the effects of Centella Asiatica on my acne scars, I decided to get this! This small tub has that ingredient as one of its mains. And it’s supposed to help the dry patches heal as well as provide them with extra moisture.

This does exactly that! Lately I’ve been getting pimples cause of my hormones (UGH) and so I’ve been applying medicine and when I apply medicine, it leaves the skin dry and irritated. And so when I got this, I applied it on those areas during my night time routine. Then when I woke up this morning, they weren’t so red anymore! Plus the skin was smooth! Definitely a game changer!!!

I bought this from Althea Korea!

5. Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This is a really strong cleanser but it gets the job done!!! This really exfoliates my skin and gives it a nice fresh glow! Like I said though it’s really strong which is why I only use it once or twice a week.

If you have super sensitive skin, I would ask you to rethink this cleanser because it may cause your skin to get irritated or cause it to peel since it’s super acidic but otherwise, it really helps get rid of the bacteria and dirt on my face especially after a long week. Just make sure that you moisturize afterwards so that your skin doesn’t get too dry!

I bought this from Sephora PH!

6. Hello Gorgeous PH Ultra Pure Serum

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

One of my faves from Hello Gorgeous PH! Tea Tree + Niacinamide is loveeee! What I love most about this product is how affordable yet effective it is! This costs less than 500 pesos but gets the job done as if it cost even more!

I love using this when my skin is feeling a bit irritated and troubled because this product calms it down in just a few hours. It’s consistency is a bit watery and so it’s easy to spread around as well as absorb into the skin!

If I were you, I would splurge on these Hello Gorgeous PH serums! They are affordable, effective and CUTE (I mean look at that packaging?!?)

Got this from Hello Gorgeous PH! Check out their instagram!

7. Caolion Pore Ritual Masks

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

First of all, look at that cute packaging! It’s kind of like a two in one thing and so I had to buy it!!! Plus the great reviews helped too!

These masks are specifically designed for the pores! The Pore Tightening Bounce Cream glows, cools and hydrates. So this is a cream you would usually use before you start your day while the Pore Tightening Memory Sleeping Mask glows, lifts and hydrates – something you could use at the end of your evening routine.

So far, these masks have been gold for me. The first mask really plumps my skin up and makes me look super fresh! I usually use it before I go out so that I look way more alive (my eyebags kill meeee) and it WORKS. Plus it keeps my skin tight! The other mask, I use it during my night time routine as the last step – this mask helps tighten my pores over night as well as keeps my skin hydrated.

As for the smell, they both smell divine and the consistency wasn’t sticky at all and so these was a joy to try out. They are slowly finding a permanent spot in my skincare routine!!!

***

Well, that’s it for my May loves: Skincare! Hope you guys learned a thing or two ❀️

HEADS UP!

So I recently went to Aivee Clinic because I wanted to address a few concerns. My friend recommended it! And all I can say is WOW. The clinic is beautiful and everything they offer looks amazing! Anyways, in a few days I’m going to start a treatment for my problems with blemishes and acne scars and because of this I won’t be able to write new reviews for skincare products any time soon 😦 I may have to stop buying for a while. This treatment will make my skin super sensitive and so the doctor said it’s best if I give my skin a break from trying all these products. BUT I’ll still post about the skincare products I can post about! Just don’t expect me to write about them as much as I used to.

Because of this, I’ll be focusing more on makeup and fashion! I promise you guys that the content will still be just as good! And even better ☺️

Thank you for all your love & support! 🌸

Anti Haul Post #1 βœ¨πŸŒΈ

Welcome to my first post of this series: Anti Haul 🌸🌸🌸

Okay. So you guys might be wondering… what kind of post is this?? Why is it called an “anti haul post”?? Is that even a thing??

Well, yes. Yes it is.

I recently got this brilliant idea from one of the skincare bloggers I follow – sharmtoaster! Check her out on Instagram! Apparently, she got this idea from another blogger, Kimberly Clark!

So what is an “anti haul” post? It’s pretty much the opposite of a haul post. I’m going to be sharing with you guys a few things that I have been tempted to buy BUT choose NOT TO BUY because I DON’T NEED THEM. I’m sure a lot of you skincare and makeup addicts out there can relate to me when I say that the TEMPTATION IS REAL. And so this post is here to remind me that there are some things I may want but ultimately don’t need.

I think this is a BRILLIANT idea. Whenever I get tempted to buy some of these products, I will look back at this post and say NO. Because I am a strong woman (HAHAHAHUHU)

Okay, here we go. Time to face the truth.

1. Sunday Riley Luna/UFO Oil

I’ve been wanting to try this brand for the longest time especially their Luna and UFO oil. I’ve heard good reviews about this product, some calling it their “holy grail” BUT I’ve also been hearing reviews saying that it’s not so great for sensitive skin. And so right now I’m pretty much 50-50 when it comes to buying this product. But I think I’ll just let it go, for real now.Β

The thing is, it’s a huge risk to take especially if you have sensitive skin to get a product with alarming ingredients (I read about it in some reviews) EVEN THOUGH there are some promising words on this product. It’s just not worth all the $$$. I really thought about it. If you’re gonna buy this product for so much money and then let’s say after one try, it irritates your skin – it’ll be such a waste. And such a hassle to return or re-sell.

And the thing is, right now, I DONT NEED it. I’ve got my Herbivore Lapis oil and it has been doing wonders for my skin and so why would I need to try something new that has a good chance of being both wonderful or terrible for my skin. You get me?

2. Kim x Kylie Lip Set

Omg. I’ve had my eyes set on this for a while. But nope, I’ve decided not to get it. Why? Because I have a lot of lipsticks that I hardly use to begin with plus adding 4 more to my collection would just make my dresser messier.

I guess what makes this decision hard is that I’m a nude girl. I know that sounds wrong. But I am. Nude is my go-to shade and so when I saw this set – I immediately wanted it! I’ve been researching on it, reading reviews about it. But I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a set I really need.

First of all, the colors look so similar. What’s the diff? Why would I buy a set of four lipsticks and pretty much have only one color? Right? Also, some colors won’t really make a difference when it comes to my skin color. They’ll just all look the same. And so what’s the point?Β

Sure, they’re a collab with Kim and they look pretty and all. But ask yourself… do you really need them? Or can you get it somewhere else or do you already even have those nudes in your pile somewhere? Think about it.

3. Glossier Invisible Shield

Okay, this has just come out. But even before then, I was already thinking of buying it. I’ve recently gotten into glossier and I’ve been loving the brand and so when they said that they were coming out with an SPF, I said I needed to buy it. I wear SPF everyday. It’s crucial in my everyday routine and so it WAS pretty much a given that no matter the price, I would buy it.

Mmmmmm how about no. It’s just too expensive for a sunscreen. TOO EXPENSIVE. I get that it’s glossier but you can get better SPF somewhere else. I’ve even read reviews that it’s pretty underwhelming and that for me was a major turn off.

I just decided to finish off the SPF I have now which is COSRX and Missha – they are great and AFFORDABLE. And so why do I need to buy the glossier SPF? I don’t. And so I won’t.

4. Milk Matcha Toner

I’ve recently ordered the Milk cooling water and I’m excited to use it – I’ve heard great review about it and I think it’ll really be a great addition to my makeup routine. While ordering the cooling water, I was actually tempted to buy the matcha toner too.

The color is really pretty!!!!! (I’m weak when it comes to pretty colors ugh) And I’ve always wanted to try a stick toner!!! I know that people have said that it’s a bit unsanitary cause it’s a stick – but on the contrary I’ve heard great reviews about it.

Ultimately though, I chose not to buy it. First of all, the price is way above budget and two, I don’t need it. I already have a good toner that works for me. Sometimes, less is more. If you use too many different toners, it might end up making your skin look worse.

I chose to take it easy and just focus on what I have now. And so far, so good.

5. Any Colourpop product

There was a time before when Colourpop first got popular and I bought 10 liquid lipsticks at one time. And guess what? Now, I barely use them. I definitely learned then and I’m definitely going to apply it now.

So far, Colourpop has been coming out with a lot of new things that I’ve wanted – like the whole Alexis Ren line. When it came out, I had my cart ready but I thought about it again and chose to delay it a bit. But now, I realized that it’s better to let it go for good.

They’re pretty and tempting but thinking about it now – they’ll end up like the 10 lipsticks I barely use.

What makes it hard is that they always come up with new things that are just so cute!!!!! You’ll want to buy them because you think you need them but really, you don’t. Highlighters? Lipsticks? Eye shadows? You have that. Like I should tell myself sometimes, “look before you buy”. Meaning look at what you have BEFORE you buy!

6. Shangpree Marine Under Eye patches

I love under eye patches. Loveeeee under eye masks!!! They’re so fun to wear hahaha but aside from that, they really help the part under my eyes. I usually have huge eye bags, plus dry and dark under eyes. So it’s great that they now have eyes masks that I can use everyday!

There’s this one in particular that I’ve been wanting to buy – the one from Peach and Lily. There are these green eye patches that I’ve been eyeing. I think there are about 30-40 pairs? And I’ve heard such great things about them!!!!Β

But I must say no because I already have a few packs of eye masks to begin with 😦 I confess that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to face masks and eye masks and so it’s a bit easier for me to say no this time around.

7. Jelly Lipsticks with Flowers

Okay so this is a bit petty but I’ve been wanting one for the longest time – they’re just so cut and pretty!!! The packaging kills me hahahaha I’ve been tempted to buy them more than once but I’ve chosen not to. I’ve tried to buy one from HelloGorgeous, Instagram shops and BeautyMNL but each time I’ve left my cart hanging. Cause at the end of the day, it’s not too different from any other lipstick.Β

It’s just a flower in a lipstick that leaves a pretty pink color. I have to keep telling myself that over and over again. They may say it “changes” according to your mood but that doesn’t really happen. Almost every shade is the same and it pretty much depends who wears it – that’s it.

And so no, super cute jelly lipsticks!!!! I will not give in to you!!!!

8. HUDA Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been trying to find a palette with warm tones as well as glittery ones and when I saw this palette I thought it was perfect! But then I saw the price and it wasn’t perfect hahaha it Β as a bit too expensive for me 😦

Tbh I really spend on palettes because they’re not cheap to begin with but I’m not completely sold on this palette to spend this X amount of money on it. I mean, the colors are sooooo pretty and sooooo pigmented!!! But I’m sure I can find a (bit) cheaper alternative somewhere else.Β

The colors are similar to a lot of palettes such as Sleek and Zoeva. And so I think it won’t be hard to find an alternative. Personally, I’ve been looking at the Anastasia modern renaissance palette (it’s a bit cheaper) and so far I think I’m going to buy that one when I go to the states. (Yup, I’ll be leaving soon and I can’t contain my excitement and so I gotta save while I can HAHAHAHA)

***

That’s the end of my anti haul post!!! That was actually a bit fun to write, I’ll admit. I promise myself I won’t buy any of the products listed down here! (I’ll only buy them if I run out or something but tbh that isn’t anytime soon!!!!) I guess what’s left is to stay strong πŸ’ͺ🏻

I hope you enjoyed this post! It’s a bit different from my other posts but again, I think the idea is brilliant!! Maybe you guys should try it out! πŸ˜‰ What products would you add to your “anti haul” list? πŸ™‚ let me know in the comments section!

April loves: Skincare πŸ’†πŸ»

This year is going by TOO FAST. Literally.

I can’t believe it’s already May??? It feels as if only yesterday was New Year’s Eve. I remember it so clearly in my head 😦

Anyway since we’re starting a new month, I wanna tell you guys about my favorite skincare products during the previous month: April.

April was kinda tricky cause the weather was all over the place! And when the weather is all over the place, I’m bound to have bipolar skin – sometimes too oily, other times too dry. And therefore a lot of skincare products come into play.

I’ve discovered a few products that have done wonders for my skin. Some, I have already even raved about ( I couldn’t wait!!!) And so for those I’ve already talked about, I’ll be linking them to my previous blog posts so you can read more about them!

Anyway here we goooooo β˜€οΈ

1. Hello Gorgeous Facial Mask Purifying

This brand has never let me down once since I’ve started using it and so it was no surprise that I absolutely fell in love with their Facial Purifying Mask! This mask pretty much screams PUREEE! My skin has been breaking out recently because of “product x” and so I’ve been trying to bring it back to the light side (see what I did there…. Happy May Sith (6) HAHAHAHA)

This mask has been helping me do that. The number one ingredient I love here is Tea Tree. Tea Tree oil has ALWAYS been good to my skin – no matter in what form. And so I wasn’t afraid to try this out.

This mask is pretty thin compared to your regular clay masks. Although it does have that “tight feeling” as it dries, it did not irritate my skin or cause my skin to become red. In fact, it made my skin feel clean. It also dried my trouble spots and helped them heal faster – which I really needed at the time.

I would recommend this mask to everyone! Especially those of you with troubled skin! It smells good, it works and it’s affordable too! Check @hellogorgeousph Instagram to buy!

2. COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad

This is actually one of the very first COSRX products I used. But when I emptied it, I had so many other products to try out which is why I didn’t buy another one. But recently I realized that it did help me a lot back then which is why I got a new tub – and I’m really glad I did!

These are pre-moistened pads that helps exfoliate and clean the skin. The summer heat has been making me really oily and so I’ve been working harder now to make sure that all the excess oil and dirt are cleaned off. And this has been helping!!!

What I love about these pads is that they are so simple yet effective. All you need to do is take one pad and use it to wipe your face – there is no hassle whatsoever. And I just love the feeling after when I feel so clean and light. BEST FEELING EVER.

Here’s a tip though! If you want the tub to last longer, you can consider cutting each pad in half. Because sometimes a whole pad is more than enough! So why not double the amount you have? 😏

I bought mine from Althea but you can buy yours from The Skin Curator or BeautyMNL!

3. Sulwhasoo Clarifying Mask

This is my go-to peel off mask right now. Yes, I know. Pretty pricey. But guys, THE TUBE IS HUGE. It’ll last me a loooong time!! And so I wouldn’t worry much about the price – but more of the effect πŸ˜‰

And the effect is beautiful!!!!! This is a simple mask. It’s ingredients – Solomon’s Seal, Japanese Honeysuckle & Honey make this mask relaxing, calming and clarifying. They work to clear the skin and keep it hydrated and plump.

Everytime I feel like my skin is having a bad day or is tired, I put this mask on and I feel so much better. The scent really helps too!!! It’s a simple peel-off mask that reminds me that even on bad days, we girls still have our beauty products πŸ˜‰

I bought mine in Althea cause it was on sale! Go check it out!!!

4. Hello Gorgeous Caffeine Eye Serum

Who here loves coffee????? πŸ™‹πŸ»πŸ™‹πŸ»πŸ™‹πŸ» Β I am a big coffee drinker. I drink coffee A LOT (but I haven’t been recently cause of my acid reflux problem UGH) anyway, when I saw this eye serum, I just had to get it!!!!

Just so you guys know, I still use my skinfood salmon eye cream!!!! This is just for my dark circles and puffy under eyes.

First of all, I love the scent. It smells like pure coffee. Wonderful. And when I roll it under my eyes, it doesn’t feel oily at all. It feels more like a pasty serum (it’s not thick though) but I feel the super duper tiny grains of coffee and so after rolling it under my eyes, I usually use my finger to further rub it in (but not too much!!!!)

I love this because it complements my eye cream! I was so afraid this was going to dry the skin under my eyes cause my skin I super dry to begin with but IT DIDNT. In fact, it helped my eyes become less puffy. I sleep really late and so that’s a really big problem BUT thanks to my new little weapon – I don’t need to worry about looking like a zombie!!!

5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

You can never go wrong with Mario Badescu! I mean, even Kylie Jenner uses this brand and specifically this product.

Acne has always been my problem and so it’s great to have a little medicine here and there. This is my favorite acne fighter!!! The pink drying lotion!!!

It’s powder and liquid in one bottle. Okay, important note: DO NOT SHAKE. It’s not supposed to be mixed. The two are supposed to be completely separated and that’s what makes it work. It’s mostly alcohol and salicylic acid! You dip your cotton bud into the alcohol part until it reaches the bottom and then take it back out. Make sure it’s pink (just saying hahaha)

I love how this product works for me. Whenever I apply to my pimples, it stings a bit (clearly killing the bacteria) and then dries it up. And then tadaaaa the pimple heals quickly right after!!!

It’s a bit pricey for a small bottle but trust me, that’s a LOT of product right there. It’ll be more than enough for you!

You can buy this product in Rustan’s!!! They sell other Mario Badescu products there as well πŸ™‚

6. Tosowoong Dr. Troubex Daily Soothing Treatment

I loveeee my masks πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Recently though, I’ve been looking for a mask to help with my troubled skin. I heard great things about this mask and so I decided to buy 3! And I finished them all… in the span of a week. Because I LOVED IT.

This mask has one ingredient in particular which I like – Centella Asiatica Extract! I’ve been using this ingredient in different products for a while and it’s been helping my skin a lot. Mainly in calming it down and helping it heal.

I love using face mask and so it’s great to find one that really suits your needs! It helps cause instead of doing your whole routine, you can just face mask (especially during lazy days hehe) and so isn’t that great???? 😏

I bought mine on BeautyMNL!!! Go check it out!!!

7. Heimish All Clean Balm

I’ve raved about this before!!!!! And I’ll rave about it about it again!!!! I love this product!!! It helps rid my skin of all the excess oil and dirt after such a long day.

Check out my latest review of it here! ☺️

8. Herbivore Lapis Facial Oil

This is another product I previously raved about! It has a beautiful shade of blue πŸ’™ hahaha but that’s not the only reason why I love it. It helps balance the oil on my skin as well as calm down my flare ups!

Check out my latest review of it here!!!

It’s a “Worry-Free” Summer for You! πŸŒž

I, for one, love summer. I love going to the beach with my friends, having cook-outs with my family and pretty much lazing around under the sun.

BUT

There are times when it can turn out to be a complete disaster.

It can become such a hassle when your skin starts reacting negatively to all your summer activities. Oily skin? Irritated skin? Burnt skin? Ugh what a buzzkill.

But good thing I have some products to help keep my summer worry-free! And guess what? I got you covered! πŸ˜‰

All you need is some faith, trust….. and well, a few products πŸ˜…

 1. Whamisa Organic Flowers/Apple Sebum Treatment

Among all of the products here, this is the newest one in my skincare routine but tbh, it found its place really quick. That’s how amazing it is!

This is a lotion that helps control the amount of sebum/oil on your face. All the ingredients are organic and thus this product seems to be suitable for sensitive skin (like mine). I have been using this for more than a few weeks now and I have been LOVING it so far!!!

The way I use it in my skincare routine is that I put it on after my essence because it can actually work as a light moisturizer (if you’re the dry type though, I’m not sure if it would be enough for you). I don’t spread it all over my face. I only spread it on my t-zone (cause I have combination skin).

So far, since I’ve been using it, I’ve had no breakouts whatsoever and my skin has been less oily than usual, especially on my t-zone!!! I used to use blotting papers after roughly an hour but now I have to blot maybe after three hours. (Yes I still have to blot BUT THAT’S NORMAL).

If the summer heat is making you oily like crazy, try this product out! You can buy it online from Althea Korea for P760!

2. Herbivore Lapis Balancing Facial Oil

Let’s talk about Facial oils. Yes I know, the topic sounds pretty scary especially for those with oily skin BUT do you know that it can actually make your skin even better WITHOUT making it super oily??? YES IT’S POSSIBLE.

Adding oil to your skin can actually stop the overproduction of your skins natural oil and help balance it out. THUS making your skin even better!

I recently just started using the Herbivore Lapis Oil and I’ve been seeing the difference already. I chose this because it’s especially formulated for combination/oily skin. The Blue Tansy in the formula helps by reducing redness and clarifying the complexion which is what I specifically need.

I’ve had a breakout recently because of “product x” (BLEH) and so I treated it with the oil and I was so amazed that the redness and irritation toned down by the time I woke up the next morning.

This summer, I say you switch to a facial oil (especially in this crazy heat!!!!). You will not regret it FOR SURE. There are so many different brands like Herbivore, Sunday Riley, Kypris and Drunk Elephant!!!

I bought this from Sephora Philippines for P1,316! I might buy the bigger one soon though so aaaahhh πŸ™ˆ

3. Missha All Around Safe Block Satin Finish

I finally ran out of my Cosrx Aloe Sunblock and so I decided to try out another brand and I heard Missha’s sunblocks are really good and so I decided to buy one! I chose the satin finish cause I thought that was best for my combination skin.

So far, I’ve been really liking this sun cream. It doesn’t give me a heavy feeling at all plus there’s no greasy after feeling which I hate!!!

What I love about this cream is that it has a faint smell and it has a strong SPF of 50!!! I started using sunblock everyday late last year and it’s been an important product in my routine! I cannot leave the house without it! And so I’m really glad I found this product.

With this sunblock, I can have fun under the sun, worry-free! πŸ˜‰

I bought my safe block from @thebbcreamshopph for P650!

4. Happy Skin Matte of My Dreams Oil Control Mattifying Powder

I’ve been looking for a powder which could help with my sebum control and when I heard people raving about this, I just had to try it!

It’s more of like pressed powder than loose powder and it comes in a translucent white shade so that it can work for anyone!

When I first tried this, I was kind of nervous that it wouldn’t work for me (cause I get oily like crazy) and I didn’t want my πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ to go to waste. BUT luckily, it did just the job!!!

I used to have to blot 1 hour after putting on makeup but after using this powder, I only needed to blot THREE HOURS after which made a REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE. For us oily girls, we will always have to have blotting paper in our makeup bag BUT with this product, we won’t have to worry about buying as many packs as we usually do.

Happy Skin has never let me down and with this new product in the mix, working wonders for my skin, I am tempted to buy even more products!!!! Maybe that Matte Primer might do me good…. 😏

I bought my Mattifying Powder in the Happy Skin branch in Alabang for P1,299! (A bit pricey but definitely worth it!)

5. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Facial sprays are a must in my skincare routine. I was actually going back and forth about buying either this one, the Herbivore one or the Glossier one. But I settled for this one because of the (gentle) ingredients as well as the amazing reviews online.

I was actually pretty lucky because I got to try the travel size one for free since I got it (for free) after buying a bunch of Mario Badescu products.

Update on that travel size spray bottle… it is EMPTY. I have used it all up and wow do I love it. I usually use it after I put on my makeup as a setting spray (but not really). It IS NOT a setting spray and so it will not set your makeup/make your makeup last longer. But I use it as such because it gives me a dewy like look after a few sprays. I’m all for the dewy (NOT OILY) look over the matte look. It just looks way more natural.

Anyway, after using it, it gives me such a refreshing feeling. Which is why I also use it during the day when I’m feeling tired or hot hahaha (I filled up my travel sized bottle cause I bought a normal-sized one).

The rosewater and aloe in the formula leaves my face feeling calm and refreshed. Definitely a need this summer πŸ˜‰

I bought mine in Rustans for P655 (which is actually pretty good!!!) They sell a lot of Mario Badescu products!

6. LUSH Sunny Day Anti Static Hair Detangler

I’ve had this product for a while and it’s been really helping with my frizzy hair. BUT I also found that it helps when my hair is super dry!!! My hair usually gets super dry during the summer because of the heat and so I wanted to find a product that would help leave it hydrated and feeling fresh.

Little did I know that I already had a product that would work for me. Let me make it clear, there’s a difference between oily hair and hydrated hair. Sometimes the heat can leave your hair dry or oily and it is important to NOT USE products that overproduce the amount of oil in your hair.

This product keeps my hair hydrated without making it look oily. In the end, my hair feels soft and “not tangled”. Which is the best feeling in the world especially for frizzy-haired girls like me.

So if you need something for your frizzy/dry/oily hair this summer, go to LUSH and try this out!!!

I bought mine in LUSH for P825!

Night Time Routine Must-Haves! πŸŒ™

Of course my blog wouldn’t be the same without reviews of some of my current favorite skincare products. I mean, that’s the whole reason why I came up with this blog in the first place! πŸ˜‚

I know it’s been a while but here I am with a review (FINALLY) of some of theΒ productsΒ I’ve been using for my evening skincare routine!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

If you guys have noticed, the weather has been crazy these past few days! There are times when it’s too hot or when it’s too cold – it’s just been very “on & off” lately and so I’ve been adjusting my skincare routine A LOT to compensate for this crazy weather!!! BUT I’ve finally come up with a SOLID skincare routine that’s been going great so far and so I want to share with you guys some of the products that make it awesome!

For this blog post, I will be reviewing the STARS of my night time skincare routine!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

1. Heimish Cleansing Balm

I recently raved about this product in my previous blog post but I feel like I haven’t raved about it enough. This is one of my holy grail products! LIKE SERIOUSLY.

I’ve been getting really oily during the day time (cause of the weather) and it’s been making me feel absolutely icky and dirty – I just don’t like the feeling of having too much oil on my face. BUT this cleanser gets rid of all my worriesΒ because once I use it, my face feels squeaky clean AND hydrated at the same time.

Just a note though – it’s consistency is a bit more watery compared to that of Clean it Zero and so it may be a bit messier and may be a hassle for you guys but I personally like it because it makes it easier to lather all over my face!

To be honest, instead of repurchasing my nth (I’ve lost count) tub of Banila Co, I think I’ll be buying another tub of Heimish Cleansing Balm!!! It’s THAT good!

I bought this from the Skin Curator!!! Check out their instagram here!

2. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner

After using the AHA/BHA Cosrx Clarifying Toner, I wanted a change. Not because the product was bad but because I believed that there was a better toner out there for me. And wow was I right!!!

The DearKlairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is gentle yet effective! I love how it’s filled with natural ingredients instead of chemical ones. I especially love that it contains Centella Asiatica! I have just made a discovery that Centella Asiatica works wonders for my skin!!! It calms down my irritated skin especially when I’m beginning to get bad breakouts. Tbh, I consider it a good thing and bad thing that I discovered this because now I am hooked on buying all kinds of products with this ingredient πŸ˜…

((I ACTUALLY just bought the DearKlairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream and so stay tuned for a review very soon!!!Β πŸ˜‰))

Anyway, this toner has been doing wonders for my skin! My skin doesn’t get all red like it used to and instead appears to be more calm! Plus my dry patches seem to be healing faster. I personally recommend this toner for those of you who have super sensitive skin (just like me) cause this definitely helps with that! Swear!

I bought this from Dara Beauty Market on Instagram! You can buy other Korean Beauty Products from there! Check it out!!!

3. Kiehl’s Breakout Control Blemish Treatment Facial Lotion

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been looking for a product toΒ help prevent breakouts BUT is safe to use everyday. Strong products like that nowadays tend to dry your skin, just like my Benzoyl Peroxide Cream that I still use BUT ONLY for trouble spots and not for everyday use!

At this time, I was looking around Kiehl’s andΒ I saw this – it had me at “BREAKOUT CONTROL”! After reading about it, I was convincedΒ to buy it right away BUT I wasn’t 100% sure if it would work for me and so I settled for 3 samples. And guess what? I used them all up AND LOVED IT. That’s when I said – “I need to buy the full-sized product!!!!!”

This lotion has definitely beenΒ keeping my bad breakouts at bay! Yeah, I did get the occasional zit here and there but not as bad as before. And you know what makes this product even better??? IT DOES NOT DRY UP MY SKIN. It doesn’t!!! (Maybe it’s cause I have oily skin but the thing is I do get dry patches and so the fact that I can use this without my skin drying up says something.)

ALSO, this lotion is very thin – I only use a pea-sized amount and after I apply it, my face doesn’t feel greasy. As a matter a fact, when I use it, it doesn’t feel like I’ve applied anything!

One iffy thing I would say though about this product is that it has a strong smell. It’s kinda like a strong herbal smell and so I’m not sure if some of you will like it but personally, I don’t mind it at all because it doesn’t linger.

I would recommend this product for those of you who have oily/combination skin. Not sure about those of you with dry skin cause daily use might not work for you!Β Use with caution πŸ™‚

4. Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I know, I know. I have a lot of moisturizers. But the thing is, I use them on different days. They’re the easiest to switch around! And I switch them around depending on the condition of my skin or the weather! The weather plays a big part when it comes to skincare. Some days, the heat makes us oily, on other days, the cold makes our skin dry. That’s why I’m always prepared for anything! Rain or shine, my moisturizers got me covered!

Recently though, I’ve been having problems with my combination skin. My t-zone would be oily BUT I would have dry patches on other parts of my face which really annoyed me. And the moisturizer I was using at that time made my t-zone oilier and made my dry patches more apparent!!!!! Talk about double blehhh. And so I needed to find a cream that would not “overmoisturize” my t-zone but at the same time hydrate my dry patches. And so I researched again and I found this wonderful product!!!!

This cream does exactly what I need it to do. It leaves my look NOT TO dewy and at the same time, it fixed my dry patches!!!! Plus this is another product that works toΒ calm down my skin. After putting it on, I don’t feel greasy or heavy, I feel light and hydrated. My skin feels plump and looks just the right amount of dewy which is THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD.

For all you oily people with the same problem as me, this might be the cream for you! Warning: it’s pricey and the smell is strong BUT for me, the results it gives makes it all worth it!

I got this from BeautyMNL! Check it out here! Love love ❀

My Everyday Skincare Routine (Updated) πŸ’†πŸ»

Hellooooooo! I am back with another post!!! I was actually supposed to post this yesterday but my schedule has been crazy with rehearsals, gigs & all so I only got to post it now πŸ˜…

ANYWAY, so many people have been asking me about my current skincare routine and it’s funny cause that was one of the reasons why I started this blog in the first place. Apparently Instagram has a character count??? And sooo, I couldn’t share my skincare routine on Instagram (cause it’s too damn long hahaha) I had to find another way. And I ended up making a full blown blog because of it.

My skincare routine blog post has been receiving a lot of views and comments and so I wanted to post another one which is the updated version because I made a few changes and added/replaced/took out some. And so here it is! Again if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave a comment! I will get back to you as soon as I can! πŸ™‚

For this post I used the emojis, 🌞 &πŸŒ›! The sun means I use it in the morning, the moon means I use it in the evening and if both are present, that means I use them both morning and evening!

 1. CLEANSING BALM (Banila Co.) πŸŒ›

FAVE BALM FOREVER. Like I super love this!!! This is already my fourth tub! So as you can see I love it so much ❀️ I use this every night even when I don’t wear that much makeup because it helps get rid of the impurities and dirt on my skin so that my pores do not get clogged and cause acne! For me, this is a NEED in any skincare routine and so go and buy one now!

2. EXFOLIATOR (Cure) πŸŒ›

This is my go-to exfoliator! At first it may not seem like one because it doesn’t have any beads or grains but once you rub it on your DRY face, you’ll see the magic happen! It ends up taking off all your dead and dry skin! And it’s makes no mess at all! It’s a bit pricey but it’s a huge bottle! It’ll surely last you a few months since you’re only supposed to exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week.

3. CLEANSER (COSRX pH Cleanser) 🌞

So far, this is one of the best cleansers I have ever tried. It’s so gentle yet it really cleans my skin! It takes out all the dirt and impurities! Plus, it even works as a great make-up remover. Whenever I use this to take off make-up, it doesn’t need much! This is my go-to cleanser because after I use, my face always feels squeaky clean!

4. CLEANSER (COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser) πŸŒ›

Another one of my go-to cleansers! I use this one at night only. Unlike other exfoliating cleansers, this one does not dry up my skin! What’s a plus is that it has Salicylic Acid and so it’s great for those prone to acne! And don’t worry cause it works for sensitive skin too. I have sensitive skin and have been using this every night but it never irritated my skin or caused it to peel. That’s saying something!

5. TONER (COSRX AHA BHA Toner) πŸŒžπŸŒ›

By far one of the best toners out there! It is so gentle on my skin! Would definitely recommend this to those of you who have sensitive skin. It doesn’t have much of a scent and it doesn’t sting my skin at all when I apply it. What I also like about this toner is that it makes it easier for me to apply my Vitamin C and chemical exfoliators because it normalizes the pH level of my skin which is what is needed to apply the following products!

6. VITAMIN C (Klairs) πŸŒ›

I tried C21 before but oh was it strong! It didn’t do anything for my sensitive skin except make it even more sensitive. Tbh, it ended up doing more harm than good and so I decided to research for a more gentle vitamin c serum and this is what I found! It’s not too strong and so you won’t see the results right away but you WILL see them. It just takes time! I’d rather take my time than use a stronger product that could do more damage to my skin.

7. DARK SPOT CORRECTOR (Kiehls) πŸŒ›

This is new in my skincare routine. I got this a few weeks back and I have been using it with my vitamin c BUT I only use this for specific areas like for my scars and dark spots. I decided to use this in conjuction with my Klairs Vitamin C because I felt like this specific areas needed an extra push. I use them together and so far they have both been working great for me!

8. AHA / BHA (COSRX) πŸŒ›

I’ve been using BHA but I recently added my AHA. I wanted to try AHA because I wanted to see its effect on my whiteheads. I don’t use it everyday because I feel like that would be too much for my skin. I use it around 3 times a week or more if needed. I’d say it’s been working well for me but a bit of a warning, the smell is pretty unpleasant. And so if you’re sensitive to scents, I suggest you don’t buy it. The BHA on the other hand works well for me! It prevents pimples which I really like plus there is no scent at all and so that’s a plus!

9. ESSENCE (LJH Tea Tree Essence) πŸŒžπŸŒ›

This is another addition to my skincare routine! I really liked my Snail Essence from COSRX but I just wanted to try out another one that could target specifically my oiliness and acne. And so I researched and researched and I found this! I heard this has been working great for those with sensitive skin and I’m glad I decided to try it out because I have been loving it! It really helps calm my skin down especially the redness of my skin. It’s pretty affordable and accessible and so go ahead and buy one!

10. EMULSION (COSRX Natural BHA Emulsion) πŸŒžπŸŒ›

Been using this since the start and I still love it! It’s not just a moisturizer, it also works to make my skin glow as well as “mattify” it. I like using this because it’s very gentle and it really refines my skin texture – making it more smooth and plump! Some people find this unecessary but I’ve had this since the start of my skincare routine and I don’t think I’ll ever let it go!

11. MOISTURIZER (COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream) πŸŒžπŸŒ›

My fave moisturizer ❀ I really love this moisturizer! It is not too heavy, not too light. I have combination skin and so I’m sometimes oily and I have some dry patches and so this moisturizer is perfect for me. I use only a little bit in the morning though and more at night so that I don’t get too oily during the day. This really helps get rid of my dry patches so ugh lifesaver.

12. EYE CREAM (Skinfood Salmon Eye Cream) πŸŒžπŸŒ›

BEST EYE CREAM EVER. I already told you guys before that I have been looking for an eye cream that would help with my “dry” under eyes. And so far, this has been my fave!!! It took me a while to find this one but once I tried it, I instantly saw the difference! The skin under my eyes were no longer dry! Even when I applied concealer! Before my fine lines would be really seen and it looked really bad but thanks to this eye cream, that rarely happens! I apply this every morning and night!

13. SLEEPING PACK (Etude House Sleeping Pack) πŸŒ›

I have been using this sleeping pack since the time I first formed my skincare routine. I was kinda afraid at first that this would make me breakout cause I know Etude House is known for really scented essences and masks but this one doesn’t really have a scent and it’s very gentle on my skin! Plus every time I wake up, my skin always feels hydrated! I’ve had this since last year and there’s still so much product left! So it’s definitely worth the price!

14. SPOT TREATMENT (Mario Badescu Drying Lotion) πŸŒ›

I recently got this but it has already made it to the top of my list. I really wanted to find a strong spot treatment for my acne and so I researched about several brands but I liked this one and it’s now available in Rustans and so I bought it! On my first day of using it, I already noticed the difference! It really shrunk my pimple and dried them out! They were almost gone overnight! Definitely a keeper!

15. ACNE PATCHES (A’pieu Nonco Medicated Acne Patches)πŸŒ›

One of my trusty medicated acne patches!!! Whenever I put it on a spot, the next day it’s almost gone! It really works!!! I already wrote a more extensive review on this before so check it out here! πŸ™‚

16. SUNBLOCK (COSRX Aloe Vera SPF) 🌞

My trusty sunblock! Idk what I would do without this sunblock!!!! I used to not wear sunblock because I didn’t like how it clogged my pores and I hated the sticky feeling but I knew I still needed to wear and so I researched for one that would be super light and that wouldn’t cause me to break out. I saw the great reviews of this product and so I bought it and wow it’s amazing!!!!! I never leave the house without it! It actually makes me love putting on sunblock! Which is a big thing for me. If you want a sunblock that doesn’t give you that sticky heavy feeling, this one is for you!

***

Well there you have it! My current and updated skincare routine! If you guys have any questions or concerns, just leave me a comment and I will get back to you ASAP! ☺️

Btw, I’ll be leaving for Guam this weekend (will write a post about it ahhhh) and so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post on Friday! But for sure I’ll be posting another blog post soon! Leadiiinglady’s Love List: Make-up πŸ’„

I told you guys before that I would post my make-up love list for you guys and so here it is! In this post, I will be showing you the make-up products I have been loving! What’s great about these are that they are pretty much for everyday looksΒ plus most of them are affordable. Will include where you can buy these products so you guys can check them out! πŸ’•

BB Creams

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

What I love about the Korean BB CreamsΒ is that one, they’re very light – most of them have a natural looking finish. Two, they make your skin glow! Like seriously! They give me this kind of glow I never had before. Three, there are so many natural ingredients that help your skin in the process and so it’s like make-up + skincare! What could be better than that? I guess the only unfortunate thing I would say is that most of them only come in 2 shades and so it’s a bit harder for a lot of people to use.

1. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (No. 21)

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This was my first Korean BB Cream! And I love it! When I put it on my skin, it feels so light and yes, there is a glow. This is the perfect everyday BB Cream because the coverage isn’t that great but it covers enough and so your skin can still breathe. I bought this because I wanted to use BB Creams instead of regular foundation because of the pros it has such as SPF, skin lightening and pore tightening. I wanted an everyday BB Cream that could also be a skincare product and this is what I found. I recommend this to those of you who want to sport that no make-up make-up look. Because really, the finish is so natural!

You can buy this on Beauty MNL!

2. The Face Shop Power Perfection BB Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Tbh, I bought this because I wanted more BB creams hahaha I liked the first one so much that I wanted to try out more. This is the one I’ve currently been using. It’s the best-selling BB cream of The Face Shop! And it’s wonderful. I wanted to see if I could find a BB cream with more coverage and I read some reviews saying this was really good and so I decided to try it out. It’s a bit pricey. I think it’s around P1199 in The Face Shop but it’s a huge bottle and I can tell you now it’s worth it!!! The finish is a bit thicker compared to that of Missha but it is still very light. What I love about this is that it stays on! I’ve been having dance rehearsals for the production I’m in and this is what I’ve been using and by the time I’m done with 5 hours of dancing, it’s still there! I would definitely recommend this to those of you who want to try a BB cream that has good coverage but is still lightweight!

You can buy this at any The Face Shop branch!

Concealers

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These are my two trusty concealers! I know I’ve boasted about them before but here I am to boast about them again πŸ˜‰ They’re both from the SAEM which is a Korean brand! Note these are VERY AFFORDABLE. Plus they both have SPF and so my love for these two obviously doubles!!! One is for under my eyes and the other one is for scars and blemishes! I usually use two different kinds because I need one to be more moisturizing while I need the other one to have more coverage. And these two work great together and so yay ❀

3. the SAEM Cover Perfection Liquid Concealer

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I use this concealer for under my eyes. I read in reviews that this concealer is very moisturizing and that’s what I need especially for me because my under eyes tend to get dry and I hate it when my fine lines begin to show like ugh so annoying hahaha and so I really researched for a good one and this is what I found. I am so glad I decided to try it out because it works so well for me!!! It is very moisturizingΒ but it still manages to cover up my dark circles! And by the end of the day, my dark circles arent dry but plump and moisturized. Definitely a game changer.

4. the SAEM Cover Perfection Tip Concealer

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is the concealer I use for blemishes and scars! The coverage of this one is higher compared to that of the first. And it’s a bit less moisturizing which is why it’s perfect for my skin because I have oily skin! Also, what I love about this concealer is that it’s a perfect dupe for NARS concealer which’s price is like 4 times more??? It covers up my scars really well and it lasts pretty long. You’ll have to re-apply it after a few hours but I don’t mind because it’s also really small and so I can bring it around in my make-up case everywhere I go!

You can buy this on Althea Korea or in different instagram shops that sell Korean products!

Brows & Lashes

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Β I love my brows and lashes and so I want to give them the best look they can get! I got these two in The Face Shop. What I love about them is that they’re really good PLUS they’re super affordable. I got the mascara for P595 and the brow pencil for P285. How awesome is that???

5. The Face Shop Super Proof Mascara

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Before I bought this, I really wanted to find a mascara that could be manyΒ things – affordable, waterproof, smudgeproof and not “cumply”. It’s hard to find a mascara with all four properties BUT I have to say that I found all of them in this one! This is a very light mascara. The finish is pretty light which I really appreciate because I use this for my everyday make-up look. It is not cumply AT ALL. It’s very thin and it looks natural! Also, this mascara is smudgeproof and waterproof! I have a tendency of rubbing my eyes a lot especially when I have contacts on and I would hate it when the mascara would rub onto my under eyes because I have really dark circles to begin with and so when that happens, I look like a zombie ugh. And so I love how this doesn’t do that. Be sure to take it off with a make-up cleanser though or eye make-up remover cause it’s a bit hard to remove but I guess that is what comes with having super proof mascara hahaha

6. The Face Shop Style My EyebrowsΒ Eyebrow Pencil

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

What I love about this eyebrow pencil is that you really see it. It’s not like one of those eyebrow pencils that are so light you can’t even tell the difference??? With this one, I can really shape my eyebrow and shade in all the necessary parts (like my scar). Also, this really stays! Like I said, I’ve been having dance rehearsals in a non-airconditioned place but even though I’ve been sweating for hours, I’d look in the mirror and my brows still exist. All thanks to this! And guess what’s the best part? It only costs P285! So go and buy yourself one now! πŸ˜‰

You can buy both of these at any The Face Shop branch!

Eyeshadow Palettes

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These are the two palettes I use all the time whether it be for everyday make-up or heavy make-up. They’re a bit pricey because they’re from high end make-up brands BUT their colors are beautiful. I’m sure you’ll use them more than once! I don’t usually use eyeshadow for my natural make-up look, but when I do, I just apply a bit of a light pinkish nude on my lids and sometimes shimmer to give me that “bright-eyed look”.

7. Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is my go-to palette for most of my eyeshadow base colors. It is a very neutral palette with browns, pinks, yellows, basically the neutral colors. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t use this palette because the colors are just very versatile, you can use these colors for the base or crease or whatever you want. They are also very pigmented and so you don’t have to apply too much to give your lids color. My favorite colors for my everyday look are super mom and natural beauty. Super mom is a very light shade of pink, very subtle and classy. Natural beauty is a beautiful pinkish nude that I like using all the time! If you guys need a palette with good neutral colors and one that you want to use all the time, I would recommend this one for you!

You can buy this in Sephora or online instagram beauty shops!

8. Juvia’s Nubian 2 Palette

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I admit that this is one of my “out there” palettes. When I first got this palette I was like, what am I going to do with these colors??? Eventually, I realized this palette really works well for my Disney Princess looks (which is pretty much my job) and there are some colors I could incorporate in my everyday look. My favorite colors from this palette would be Zuri, Morocco and Madagascar. Zuri is a light bronze color, very glittery and pigmented which I LOVE. I think you can tell that I use it a lot… hahaha just look at it. Morocco on the other hand is the perfect shade of orange. You know how orange is an “in color” right now? As in, having the perfect shade of orange is super important. This is my perfect shade of orange! Madagascar on the other hand is a really brown shade, I like using this for my crease or at the tips of my lids for a subtle smokey eye effect. Again, this eyeshadow palette is very pigmented and perfect for those who need some color in their lives!

You can buy this on many instagram beauty shops!

Lipsticks

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Aside from my trusty NYX Soft Matte lippies, these are the other lipsticks I’ve been loving!Β Happy Skin Disney and Kylie Lippie Mattes are my loves. These are all very pigmented lipsticks which I appreciate. I love lipsticks, it’s one of the make-up products I really spend on – thus my choice of favorite lipsticks. They’re a bit on the pricey side but I can tell you that they’re worth it!

9. Happy Skin x Disney Lipsticks

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These are my loves!!! Note, I don’t only use these for work, I also use them for my everyday make-up look! I just love the colors. They are very pigmented, versatile and different! I could use the Aurora Lipstick for a day time hangout, I could use the Anna Lipstick for a date night and I could use Elsa Lipstick for a club party! What’s a big plus is that these lipsticks are SUPER MOISTURIZING! I get chapped lips real easily and so it helps that I have a lipstick + lip balm in one. That’s why I find these very handy and I always make sure I have one in my make-up bag!

You can buy these in Beauty Bar, Zalora or from the Happy Skin Website!

10. Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Mini Mattes

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This was the first Kylie Cosmetics product I ever purchased. I purchased the whole Holiday Mini Mattes Kit but I only really used these three colors and so far, they have been amazing! These are the shades Ginger, Love Bite and Moon. Ginger has a bit of a…. ginger shade hahahaha I actually wrote about it in one of my blog posts before! Check it out here! πŸ™‚ Moon is a nudish brown, it looks a bit darker on me cause I’m light-skinned but I don’t mind cause I like the shade. Love Bite on the other hand is a dark purple shade, similar to the Elsa shade and so I also use this sometimes when I play Elsa. A note about these lippies though is that it’s VERY IMPORTANT to moisturize your lips! Put lip balm before putting these on so that your lips won’t be too dry since they’re matte!

You can buy this on the Kylie Cosmetics website or from Kylie Cosmetics MNL which is where I bought mine! It’s 100% safe and legit!

Blush

11. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Sensual

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is my go-to everyday blush! It supposed to stay for 12-hours and that’s what it does! I love the color sensual because it’s a peachy nude which looks good on my light skin. It’s very pigmented but is still very subtle and natural looking. These are one of those make-up products that I would buy again and again after I’ve run out. It’s a bit pricey but super worth it. I’ve been using this for 4 months straight and it’s as if I haven’t scratched the surface, there is still so much left and that makes me happy πŸ™‚

Buy this now in Sephora or an online instagram beauty shop!

Highlighter

12. Anastasia Glow Kit in Sun-dipped

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is my favorite highlighter palette. Like ever. This is it!!!!! hahaha the colors are beautiful and they are super duper pigmented! If you wanna check out the glow it gives, check out my everyday make-up blog post here! The glow is beautiful and pigmented but still very subtle. My favorite shade would be Summer because it’s a color I can use everyday. It’s very light as compared to the others. I use Tourmaline or Moonstone when I’m doing my stage make-up while I use Bronzed for really dark make-up looks such as when I’m Princess Jasmine. This palette is a bit pricey. But there is so much product (this palette is HUGE) and four different colors PLUS they really deliver and so I’d like to think it’s worth the price!

You can buy this on any online instagram beauty shop!

Make-up Beauty Tools

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Make-up tools are as important as the make-up products themselves. Don’t forget though to clean these tools regularly because they are the ones that touch your face and you wouldn’t want dirty make-up tools to cause you to break out. HereΒ are some of my favorite make-up tools!

13. Happy Skin Air Touch Sponge

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I got this because I really wanted to find a sponge that was soft and has good quality but still very affordableΒ (I think Beauty Blenders are crazy over priced) and this is what I found. It’s still pretty pricey but at least it’s lower than P600. What I like about this sponge is that it’s pretty, it’s made so it can be used for many things (there are different parts of the sponge that are used for different parts of your face) and you caneither wet it for a softer application or keep it dry! I love the finished look it leaves on my face. It’s an airbrushed blended kind of look! And so if you guys need a sponge but do not want to spend so much for a beauty blender, this is for you!

You can buy this at the Beauty Bar or on the Happy Skin website!

14. Oval Paddle Brushes

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These are the brushes I use all the time!!! But the one I use the most is the foundation brush. I just love the kind of finish it leaves on my skin. When it comes to using other brushes and sponges, there are times when the finish is too thick and so it doesn’t set right and ends up smudging everywhere. And the thing is I have oily skin and so if my make-up doesn’t set it becomes runny and gross. This brush helps spread the foundation out and blends it really well onto my skin. And so if you guys are looking for a foundation brush that doesn’t leave a too thick finish but still manages to give the right coverage, this is it!

You can buy this on online instagram beauty shops for very affordable prices!

15. Pure Brush Shampoo from Suesh

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Of course when you have make-up tools, you need to have soaps/shampoos to clean those tools especially your sponger and brushes. This is my go-to brush shampoo. This is only P100 pesos! It really takes off all the dirt and make-up off the make-up brushes. What I love about this is that it also works well with my make-up sponges as well. I can literally see the make-up come off the sponges, especially when I squeeze them. It’s crazy! hahaha just a note, make sure to clean your make-up tools regularly. I like to clean my brushes and sponges once a week because I really use them a lot plus I have sensitive skin and so this really prevents dirt from getting on my tools and causing my face to break out!

You can buy this in any Suesh branch!
