Sun.dry Collab Shoot ๐ŸŒธ

Hello again ๐ŸŒธ

A few weeks ago I had my first collaboration

Tbh, I am not a model. I do not have any professional experience at all. It’s really just a hobby – and so I wasn’t even expecting them to contact me but lo and behold, they did. And I’m really glad they did!!!!

This was such a fun shoot. Shout out to Chris (the owner of sun.dry) and Kurt (the photographer)!!! They made me feel comfortable (even though I was super nervous) which made it easier for me to just be myself in front of the camera.

In the end, it was such a great experience! The pictures came out great and everyone was really happy ๐Ÿ’œ

For this blog post, I want to share with you guys some of the looks we shot! And if you like any piece of clothing in particular, check out sun.dry here on Instagram! Also, ALL pictures were taken by Kurt Rebolledo! You can check out his instagram here!

Hoping for more collabs and shoots in the future! If ever you want to work together just contact me through IG direct messages or email me at krystalckane@gmail.com ๐ŸŒธ

Makeup Art: Flowers, the Sky and the Sea ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi guys! So I’m back again with ANOTHER makeup shoot ๐ŸŒธ

If you noticed, the title of this blog post has the word ‘art’ in it. That’s because to do these makeup looks, I used my ‘artsy side’.ย I love to paint. My favorite kind of paint is acrylic. It’s been an interest of mine since I was in HS.ย If you came into myย room, the first thing you would notice are the bunch of canvases displayed all around. These are paintings I’ve done since I was 14 years old.

For this shoot, I wanted a makeup x painting kind of look. And so I decided to focus onย two things: the eyes and the lips. Good thing my model, Ylo has both beautiful eyes and lips (hehe love u). She’s my good friend and she’s beautiful! Check out her IG here! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did two looks for this shoot, a floral makeup look & a sky and sea makeup look. Hope you guys like them! All photos were taken and processed by me ๐ŸŒธ

***

For the first look, I did a ‘floral summary kind of look’. For her eyeshadow base, I used Juvia’s Nubian Palette. I used the light bronze and glittery orange shade. I darkened her crease with the Naked Basics Palette. For her liner, I used my metallic green face paint stick and for the liner under her eye I used an orange metallic color. The flowers on her eyes were done using face paint and a super tiny paint brush. It was really hard to do the flowers because the face paint was slippery and so sometimes it wouldnt stay and so I had to really use a lot of paint. To finish up this look, I used Revlon’s Crimson lipstick for her lips! It just complements her eye makeup beautifully! (Also look at her skin color! It’s GORGEOUS! Perfect for this look ๐ŸŒž)

For the second look, I used cool tones and so yes, super opposite of the first look. I wanted to paint (symbolically) the sky and sea on her face. It was quite difficult. But in the end, the look worked. I couldn’t help but sing “how far I’ll go” while doing this because seriously… “see the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls meeee”! ๐ŸŒŠ

For this look, I really played around. I didn’t have a solid planย when I started. I just had an idea that I wanted there to be some sort of sea and sky. For her eyeshadow base, I used my Pro 28 Rainbow Metallics eyeshadow palette! The blue colors are sooo pretty! I used three shades of blue: sky blue, dark blue and blue green. I also used Juvia’s Nubian Palette for this certain shade of dark blue. For the clouds on her eyes, I used white face paint. The clouds are so cute hahahaha and then I finished up her eyes by adding blue glitter. I always freak out when I work with glitter cause it gets everywhere but it just completes the look and so I had to use it! For her lips, I used the metallic blue face paint stick and added glitters for one half and white face paint + blue face paint for the other half. It supposed to represent the deep part of the sea (the dark side) and the shore (the light side).

All in all, it wasn’t an easy look to do (it was quite messy) but it was really fun! And look the pictures are nice!!!

Anti Haul Post #1 โœจ๐ŸŒธ

Welcome to my first post of this series: Anti Haul ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

Okay. So you guys might be wondering… what kind of post is this?? Why is it called an “anti haul post”?? Is that even a thing??

Well, yes. Yes it is.

I recently got this brilliant idea from one of the skincare bloggers I follow – sharmtoaster! Check her out on Instagram! Apparently, she got this idea from another blogger, Kimberly Clark!

So what is an “anti haul” post? It’s pretty much the opposite of a haul post. I’m going to be sharing with you guys a few things that I have been tempted to buy BUT choose NOT TO BUY because I DON’T NEED THEM. I’m sure a lot of you skincare and makeup addicts out there can relate to me when I say that the TEMPTATION IS REAL. And so this post is here to remind me that there are some things I may want but ultimately don’t need.

I think this is a BRILLIANT idea. Whenever I get tempted to buy some of these products, I will look back at this post and say NO. Because I am a strong woman (HAHAHAHUHU)

Okay, here we go. Time to face the truth.

1. Sunday Riley Luna/UFO Oil

I’ve been wanting to try this brand for the longest time especially their Luna and UFO oil. I’ve heard good reviews about this product, some calling it their “holy grail” BUT I’ve also been hearing reviews saying that it’s not so great for sensitive skin. And so right now I’m pretty much 50-50 when it comes to buying this product. But I think I’ll just let it go, for real now.ย

The thing is, it’s a huge risk to take especially if you have sensitive skin to get a product with alarming ingredients (I read about it in some reviews) EVEN THOUGH there are some promising words on this product. It’s just not worth all the $$$. I really thought about it. If you’re gonna buy this product for so much money and then let’s say after one try, it irritates your skin – it’ll be such a waste. And such a hassle to return or re-sell.

And the thing is, right now, I DONT NEED it. I’ve got my Herbivore Lapis oil and it has been doing wonders for my skin and so why would I need to try something new that has a good chance of being both wonderful or terrible for my skin. You get me?

2. Kim x Kylie Lip Set

Omg. I’ve had my eyes set on this for a while. But nope, I’ve decided not to get it. Why? Because I have a lot of lipsticks that I hardly use to begin with plus adding 4 more to my collection would just make my dresser messier.

I guess what makes this decision hard is that I’m a nude girl. I know that sounds wrong. But I am. Nude is my go-to shade and so when I saw this set – I immediately wanted it! I’ve been researching on it, reading reviews about it. But I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a set I really need.

First of all, the colors look so similar. What’s the diff? Why would I buy a set of four lipsticks and pretty much have only one color? Right? Also, some colors won’t really make a difference when it comes to my skin color. They’ll just all look the same. And so what’s the point?ย

Sure, they’re a collab with Kim and they look pretty and all. But ask yourself… do you really need them? Or can you get it somewhere else or do you already even have those nudes in your pile somewhere? Think about it.

3. Glossier Invisible Shield

Okay, this has just come out. But even before then, I was already thinking of buying it. I’ve recently gotten into glossier and I’ve been loving the brand and so when they said that they were coming out with an SPF, I said I needed to buy it. I wear SPF everyday. It’s crucial in my everyday routine and so it WAS pretty much a given that no matter the price, I would buy it.

Mmmmmm how about no. It’s just too expensive for a sunscreen. TOO EXPENSIVE. I get that it’s glossier but you can get better SPF somewhere else. I’ve even read reviews that it’s pretty underwhelming and that for me was a major turn off.

I just decided to finish off the SPF I have now which is COSRX and Missha – they are great and AFFORDABLE. And so why do I need to buy the glossier SPF? I don’t. And so I won’t.

4. Milk Matcha Toner

I’ve recently ordered the Milk cooling water and I’m excited to use it – I’ve heard great review about it and I think it’ll really be a great addition to my makeup routine. While ordering the cooling water, I was actually tempted to buy the matcha toner too.

The color is really pretty!!!!! (I’m weak when it comes to pretty colors ugh) And I’ve always wanted to try a stick toner!!! I know that people have said that it’s a bit unsanitary cause it’s a stick – but on the contrary I’ve heard great reviews about it.

Ultimately though, I chose not to buy it. First of all, the price is way above budget and two, I don’t need it. I already have a good toner that works for me. Sometimes, less is more. If you use too many different toners, it might end up making your skin look worse.

I chose to take it easy and just focus on what I have now. And so far, so good.

5. Any Colourpop product

There was a time before when Colourpop first got popular and I bought 10 liquid lipsticks at one time. And guess what? Now, I barely use them. I definitely learned then and I’m definitely going to apply it now.

So far, Colourpop has been coming out with a lot of new things that I’ve wanted – like the whole Alexis Ren line. When it came out, I had my cart ready but I thought about it again and chose to delay it a bit. But now, I realized that it’s better to let it go for good.

They’re pretty and tempting but thinking about it now – they’ll end up like the 10 lipsticks I barely use.

What makes it hard is that they always come up with new things that are just so cute!!!!! You’ll want to buy them because you think you need them but really, you don’t. Highlighters? Lipsticks? Eye shadows? You have that. Like I should tell myself sometimes, “look before you buy”. Meaning look at what you have BEFORE you buy!

6. Shangpree Marine Under Eye patches

I love under eye patches. Loveeeee under eye masks!!! They’re so fun to wear hahaha but aside from that, they really help the part under my eyes. I usually have huge eye bags, plus dry and dark under eyes. So it’s great that they now have eyes masks that I can use everyday!

There’s this one in particular that I’ve been wanting to buy – the one from Peach and Lily. There are these green eye patches that I’ve been eyeing. I think there are about 30-40 pairs? And I’ve heard such great things about them!!!!ย

But I must say no because I already have a few packs of eye masks to begin with ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I confess that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to face masks and eye masks and so it’s a bit easier for me to say no this time around.

7. Jelly Lipsticks with Flowers

Okay so this is a bit petty but I’ve been wanting one for the longest time – they’re just so cut and pretty!!! The packaging kills me hahahaha I’ve been tempted to buy them more than once but I’ve chosen not to. I’ve tried to buy one from HelloGorgeous, Instagram shops and BeautyMNL but each time I’ve left my cart hanging. Cause at the end of the day, it’s not too different from any other lipstick.ย

It’s just a flower in a lipstick that leaves a pretty pink color. I have to keep telling myself that over and over again. They may say it “changes” according to your mood but that doesn’t really happen. Almost every shade is the same and it pretty much depends who wears it – that’s it.

And so no, super cute jelly lipsticks!!!! I will not give in to you!!!!

8. HUDA Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been trying to find a palette with warm tones as well as glittery ones and when I saw this palette I thought it was perfect! But then I saw the price and it wasn’t perfect hahaha it ย as a bit too expensive for me ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Tbh I really spend on palettes because they’re not cheap to begin with but I’m not completely sold on this palette to spend this X amount of money on it. I mean, the colors are sooooo pretty and sooooo pigmented!!! But I’m sure I can find a (bit) cheaper alternative somewhere else.ย

The colors are similar to a lot of palettes such as Sleek and Zoeva. And so I think it won’t be hard to find an alternative. Personally, I’ve been looking at the Anastasia modern renaissance palette (it’s a bit cheaper) and so far I think I’m going to buy that one when I go to the states. (Yup, I’ll be leaving soon and I can’t contain my excitement and so I gotta save while I can HAHAHAHA)

***

That’s the end of my anti haul post!!! That was actually a bit fun to write, I’ll admit. I promise myself I won’t buy any of the products listed down here! (I’ll only buy them if I run out or something but tbh that isn’t anytime soon!!!!) I guess what’s left is to stay strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

I hope you enjoyed this post! It’s a bit different from my other posts but again, I think the idea is brilliant!! Maybe you guys should try it out! ๐Ÿ˜‰ What products would you add to your “anti haul” list? ๐Ÿ™‚ let me know in the comments section!

Solar Madness ๐ŸŒŒ

It’s been a while, but I’m baaaack โค

Plus I can finally wear eye makeup!!! And so what better way to celebrate than do a makeup shoot?!??!

This is a shoot I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I got inspired because I saw these cool galaxy contact lenses while I was scrolling through my facebook feed and so I said, “Hey, why not do a shoot like this???” Unfortunately, I still cannot use contact lenses because I’m recovering from an infection (HUHU) and so I decided to just make the face makeup more bongga instead!

I wanted to make this shoot a bit different fromย the rest and so I decided to do 3 looks: one each representing a different planet. I chose Mars, Neptune and of course, Mother Earth. I chose these 3 planets based on their colors since I wanted a variety! (And so yes, I researched). And for each look, I wanted it to be placed differently on my face and so one is focused on the forehead while the other is focused on half of the face and so on. (you’ll see what I mean hehe)

Anyway, this shoot was pretty simple and I really enjoyed it ๐Ÿ’– It was actually a lot quicker than I thought it would be ๐Ÿ˜… Hope you guys like it! Let me know in the comments what you guys think! Looking forward to it xx

1. NEPTUNE

For Neptune, the color palette was full of blues, purples and blue greens (I LOVE THESE COLORS). For my face makeup, I used eyeshadow (YES, that’s a lot of eyeshadow) but the effect was magical – I loved how sparkly and glittery it was. I used the Nubian 2 Palette as well as my Pro 28 Rainbow Mettalics. I then used some face paint sticks with metallic colors, purple, blue and green to kind of add some depth and shape. And then I blended it all in.

For this look, I chose to have bold brows and lips thus the really dark brows and the black lips. I loved the effect and how it looked dark yet magical. Oh, and I used an Acrylic Marker (that writes on ANYTHING) for the stars and constellations. I know, pretty crazy. It was the only thing that worked!!!! (But of course, I made sure that I could easily wash it off by testing it first. The last thing I wanted was a permanent stain on my face. Hahahah anyway, here’s the final look! ๐Ÿ’œ

2. MARS

I chose Mars as one of my three looks because I wanted to do a pinkish, reddish, goldish look <333 because the colors are beautiful!!! I loved how this turned out!!! I chose to do the half face one for this and I loved the effect. For my face makeup, I used the Nubian 2 palette again! This palette is so pigmented, it’s amaziiiing!!!!

I also used the metallic face paint pens such as orange and pink for more glitter and effect! I decided to keep my brows soft and as for my lips, I chose a red shade but made sure to add a bit of gold in the middle- for a “golden effect”. In the end, I love how this look looks burnt but golden at the same time. Definitely one of my faves โค๏ธ

3. EARTH

Of course, I wouldn’t forget our dear Mother Earth โค I decided to do Mother Earth with a twist which is to add some pink! (Cause you don’t see the pink from space right) The pink represents nature – all the pretty flowers!!! For this look, I wanted to kind of make it look like a mask. In the end, I figured I got it right cause when my cousin saw me, he said “Cool mask!” hahahaha. Again, I used the Pro 28 Rainbow Metallics palette as well as the Nubian 2 palette for my face makeup! It’s all about the blues and greens for this look!

For my eyes, I used the face paint pen to mark my under eyes with green and pink for an accent and I really liked the turn out. For my lips, I decided to keep it pink and natural – it was a really good decision because there was a nice contrast between the busy eye area and the chill lip area. Sometimes, simplicity is key ๐Ÿ’™

AHHHH I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures as much I enjoyed painting the look โค It’s been a while and so it feels great to be back in the zone! AND, since I’m back, stay tuned for more makeup shoots!!! As well as something new on my blog soon! STAY TUNED Y’ALL โœจ

It’s a “Worry-Free” Summer for You! ๐ŸŒž

I, for one, love summer. I love going to the beach with my friends, having cook-outs with my family and pretty much lazing around under the sun.

BUT

There are times when it can turn out to be a complete disaster.

It can become such a hassle when your skin starts reacting negatively to all your summer activities. Oily skin? Irritated skin? Burnt skin? Ugh what a buzzkill.

But good thing I have some products to help keep my summer worry-free! And guess what? I got you covered! ๐Ÿ˜‰

All you need is some faith, trust….. and well, a few products ๐Ÿ˜…

 1. Whamisa Organic Flowers/Apple Sebum Treatment

Among all of the products here, this is the newest one in my skincare routine but tbh, it found its place really quick. That’s how amazing it is!

This is a lotion that helps control the amount of sebum/oil on your face. All the ingredients are organic and thus this product seems to be suitable for sensitive skin (like mine). I have been using this for more than a few weeks now and I have been LOVING it so far!!!

The way I use it in my skincare routine is that I put it on after my essence because it can actually work as a light moisturizer (if you’re the dry type though, I’m not sure if it would be enough for you). I don’t spread it all over my face. I only spread it on my t-zone (cause I have combination skin).

So far, since I’ve been using it, I’ve had no breakouts whatsoever and my skin has been less oily than usual, especially on my t-zone!!! I used to use blotting papers after roughly an hour but now I have to blot maybe after three hours. (Yes I still have to blot BUT THAT’S NORMAL).

If the summer heat is making you oily like crazy, try this product out! You can buy it online from Althea Korea for P760!

2. Herbivore Lapis Balancing Facial Oil

Let’s talk about Facial oils. Yes I know, the topic sounds pretty scary especially for those with oily skin BUT do you know that it can actually make your skin even better WITHOUT making it super oily??? YES IT’S POSSIBLE.

Adding oil to your skin can actually stop the overproduction of your skins natural oil and help balance it out. THUS making your skin even better!

I recently just started using the Herbivore Lapis Oil and I’ve been seeing the difference already. I chose this because it’s especially formulated for combination/oily skin. The Blue Tansy in the formula helps by reducing redness and clarifying the complexion which is what I specifically need.

I’ve had a breakout recently because of “product x” (BLEH) and so I treated it with the oil and I was so amazed that the redness and irritation toned down by the time I woke up the next morning.

This summer, I say you switch to a facial oil (especially in this crazy heat!!!!). You will not regret it FOR SURE. There are so many different brands like Herbivore, Sunday Riley, Kypris and Drunk Elephant!!!

I bought this from Sephora Philippines for P1,316! I might buy the bigger one soon though so aaaahhh ๐Ÿ™ˆ

3. Missha All Around Safe Block Satin Finish

I finally ran out of my Cosrx Aloe Sunblock and so I decided to try out another brand and I heard Missha’s sunblocks are really good and so I decided to buy one! I chose the satin finish cause I thought that was best for my combination skin.

So far, I’ve been really liking this sun cream. It doesn’t give me a heavy feeling at all plus there’s no greasy after feeling which I hate!!!

What I love about this cream is that it has a faint smell and it has a strong SPF of 50!!! I started using sunblock everyday late last year and it’s been an important product in my routine! I cannot leave the house without it! And so I’m really glad I found this product.

With this sunblock, I can have fun under the sun, worry-free! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought my safe block from @thebbcreamshopph for P650!

4. Happy Skin Matte of My Dreams Oil Control Mattifying Powder

I’ve been looking for a powder which could help with my sebum control and when I heard people raving about this, I just had to try it!

It’s more of like pressed powder than loose powder and it comes in a translucent white shade so that it can work for anyone!

When I first tried this, I was kind of nervous that it wouldn’t work for me (cause I get oily like crazy) and I didn’t want my ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ to go to waste. BUT luckily, it did just the job!!!

I used to have to blot 1 hour after putting on makeup but after using this powder, I only needed to blot THREE HOURS after which made a REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE. For us oily girls, we will always have to have blotting paper in our makeup bag BUT with this product, we won’t have to worry about buying as many packs as we usually do.

Happy Skin has never let me down and with this new product in the mix, working wonders for my skin, I am tempted to buy even more products!!!! Maybe that Matte Primer might do me good…. ๐Ÿ˜

I bought my Mattifying Powder in the Happy Skin branch in Alabang for P1,299! (A bit pricey but definitely worth it!)

5. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Facial sprays are a must in my skincare routine. I was actually going back and forth about buying either this one, the Herbivore one or the Glossier one. But I settled for this one because of the (gentle) ingredients as well as the amazing reviews online.

I was actually pretty lucky because I got to try the travel size one for free since I got it (for free) after buying a bunch of Mario Badescu products.

Update on that travel size spray bottle… it is EMPTY. I have used it all up and wow do I love it. I usually use it after I put on my makeup as a setting spray (but not really). It IS NOT a setting spray and so it will not set your makeup/make your makeup last longer. But I use it as such because it gives me a dewy like look after a few sprays. I’m all for the dewy (NOT OILY) look over the matte look. It just looks way more natural.

Anyway, after using it, it gives me such a refreshing feeling. Which is why I also use it during the day when I’m feeling tired or hot hahaha (I filled up my travel sized bottle cause I bought a normal-sized one).

The rosewater and aloe in the formula leaves my face feeling calm and refreshed. Definitely a need this summer ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought mine in Rustans for P655 (which is actually pretty good!!!) They sell a lot of Mario Badescu products!

6. LUSH Sunny Day Anti Static Hair Detangler

I’ve had this product for a while and it’s been really helping with my frizzy hair. BUT I also found that it helps when my hair is super dry!!! My hair usually gets super dry during the summer because of the heat and so I wanted to find a product that would help leave it hydrated and feeling fresh.

Little did I know that I already had a product that would work for me. Let me make it clear, there’s a difference between oily hair and hydrated hair. Sometimes the heat can leave your hair dry or oily and it is important to NOT USE products that overproduce the amount of oil in your hair.

This product keeps my hair hydrated without making it look oily. In the end, my hair feels soft and “not tangled”. Which is the best feeling in the world especially for frizzy-haired girls like me.

So if you need something for your frizzy/dry/oily hair this summer, go to LUSH and try this out!!!

I bought mine in LUSH for P825!

That’s it for my post about products that’ll make your summer worry-free!!!! Hope this helped you guys out! ๐Ÿ’› Now you can go have fun in the sun at any time!!!

Coachella Fashion: Brave Heart, Free Spirit, Wild Style ๐ŸŒธ

Coachella Season.

One thing I love doing during Coachella season (since I can’t go there myself huhu) is looking at all theย fashion outfits and makeup looks! Every year, there is always something new, something fresh, something different and I just love getting the inspiration for more looks!

This year I saw some really great looks and I thoughtย hey, since I have a blog now why don’t I do my own Coachella x LeadiiingLady twist?!? HELL YEAH.

At first I was a bit hesitant to go for it because this is something really new to me. I haven’t posted a fashion blog post before nor have I posted a blog post with me actually modeling. But I thought about what I said in my previous blog post- that I can’t keep holding back because I’m insecure or afraid of what people might think. This is me being me, this is me expressing myself. This is something that I shouldn’t be ashamed of doing. And so after going back and forth, this post finally happened.

This is my first FASHION x MAKEUP POST and so please bear with me ๐Ÿ˜… I’m not sure if I’m doing this right but hopefully I am! And if you enjoyed this post, please let me know in the comments section. That way, I can come up with better, more amazing posts for you guys in the future ๐Ÿ’œ

All fashion and makeup looks were done by me. All photos were taken by my amazing photographer/boyfriend, Boo Gabunada. Again, we’re trying out this MUA x Photographer tandem and it’s going REALLY WELL hehe and so I’ll be posting about a lot of more projects in the near future ๐Ÿ˜‰

***NOTE: Some outfits/makeup looks were inspired by my favorite celebrities & bloggers at Coachella and so I’ll be posting their photos here for your reference!***

For this look, I wanted to go for a feminine, simple and pretty look. Basically – “a breath of fresh air”. Which is why I chose to keep the outfit candid by using a plain white off shoulder top (H&M), a denim jumper (Cotton On) and a pair of beat up white converse (Converse).

For the makeup look, I chose a different take by making my eyes colorful by adding blue, purple, green and yellow eyeshadow under my eyes. Can I just say, I used Hello Gorgeous PH‘s rainbow eyeshadow/highlighter and it is THE BEST. It’s sooo pigmented and the colors are beautiful! Plus it stayed on the whole time!!! Beautiful product indeed! As for my hair, I did a pigtail french braid but it’s not seen ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I braided my hair cause I wanted a playful young look in the mix and this hairstyle exhibits just that!

In all, I loved how my makeup complemented my outfit. It gave a lot more life to the look without overpowering it – in the end, I was able to go for that flower child look with a colorful twist.

MISS

This next outfit was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers/vloggers, Claudia Sulewski! When I saw what she wore to Coachella Day 1, I told myself I had to include this look! It’s very edgy, boyish and most of all, it doesn’t look like a Coachella outfit at all WHICH MADE ME WANT TO DO IT MORE. Like I said, I love seeing fresh, unique, new outfits and this was it!!!

img_9047-2.png

If I had to choose any one of these outfits to actually wear out, it would be this one. The “boyish” side just calls to me hahaha! For this look, I chose a simple black tank top (Cotton On) and army pants (Cotton On) plus I decided to pair it with sneakers (F21) so that this outfit screams more than just “military!!!” As for my makeup, I used gold, bronze and dark brown for the colors of my eyeshadow and kept it simple with a reddish-ginger shade for my lips c/o my Kylie Liquid Lipstick in shade Ginger. I went for the same hairstyle as Claudia but since my hair is really short, it kept falling and so it ended up looking messier than planned (but tbh I think it made the whole thing looks better)

I love how the whole thing turned out. It had just the right amount of feminine in this boyish look.

MISS (3)

This next outfit was pretty much inspired by Kendall Jenner (her outfit in 2014) and another favorite blogger of mine, Griffin Arnlund (her outfit this year). I decided to mix up the two because I liked how my nude crochet top (@holyswimph) looked with my harem pants (from Cambodia). Plus I really love Kendall and Griffin’s fashion style!!!

IMG_9109 2

img_9058-2.png

For this look, I wanted to go for a “pretty pink look” BUT with rainbow cheeks which is why I used the Hello Gorgeous Rainbow Highlighter again this time around but for my cheeks. (I didn’t want to make it too dark though and so I kept it pretty subtle.) As for my eyes, I added a bit more rose gold to the crease to kind of get that rosy look. My lips on the other hand were Revlon (Crimson) x Colourpop Metallic Liquid Lipstick (Maneater) because I wanted them to shine. For this look, I decided to keep my hair down and add a simple flower crown for that “girly” feel.

All in all, I think I ended up with this forest nymph fairy look with a touch of boho which I was happy with. The pictures though are a bit blurry ๐Ÿ˜ฆ cause this was the last set we took and we were losing light and so this was the best we could do. Hope you still like them though!

Who doesn’t love Vanessa Hudgens? She is the QUEEN of Coachella. And so this post wouldn’t be complete without recreating one of her best looks! I decided to go with one of the looks she did back in Coachella 2014. I loved this look! It was everything: edgy, girly, boho, summery, floral, etc!!! I tried my best to recreate this look with, of course, my own twist and I *think* it ended up looking good!

IMG_9097 2

IMG_9100 2

My plan for this look was to channel my inner boho! I bought this dress before from Forever 21 but haven’t found the perfect time to use it UNTIL NOW. I also added a black lacey bra under for an extra “hmph” like what Vanessa did with her outfit! The boots are my mom’s (hahaha thanks mom) and as for the hat, I bought it from Cotton On! I chose “boho” accessories to use such as feathers (from Taiwan), chokers, colorful hoop earrings and those “circle shades”.

On the other hand, my makeup stayed pretty simple. All I did was darken my eyebrows a bit more and color my lips a darker shade of red (Revlon Crimson x MAC Paramount). I did this cause I wanted those features to pop. Just a note: when it comes to quick-changing makeup, best to focus on your lips and eyebrows. They only take a short time to fix PLUS they make a HUGE difference! As for my hair, I decided to keep it in a messy halfpony so that it wouldn’t be too “big” under the hat.

MISS (1)

But wait! This Coachella post wouldn’t be complete without a look from Vanessa’s best friend, Ashley!!! Again, this is a totally different lookdenim on denim, baby!!! I love denim. It’s my go-to fashion piece when I’m in a hurry or can’t think of anything else to wear. When all else fails, go denim. ANYWAY, I thought this look was really cool and different from the rest which is why I chose to include it in this post.

img_9043.png

For my outfit, I chose a black crop top (Cotton On) under to kind of cancel out all the denim. My denim jacket is from H&M while my BEAUTIFUL pants are from a thrift shop in the States. I’ve had these pants for years but I never wore them out and now I wonder WHYYYY??? because they are beautiful and the details are exquisite! Definitely wearing this out soon! Added a hat from Cotton On and wore high-heeled boots from Forever 21!

This is one of those looks whichย I spent a long while on hahaha for my makeup, I chose to keep my eyes dark with a bit of bronze for the under part.ย And if you noticed, I also added bronze dots above my eyebrow line. I would have wanted this to be jewel beads but I couldn’t find any ๐Ÿ˜ฆ and so that’s for another post, for sure!!! I used Juvia’s Nubian palette for this because it is SUPER pigmented!!! The color just sticks and so I had no problem making this look.

And omg is that a nose ring I see??? Hahaha dont worry mom, it’s fake hahaha I’m really into the nose ring look right now that I ordered a few from Armstrong and Smith! Their designs are really cute! You should check them out!!! My dream catcher necklace is actually from Boo! It’s from Taiwan! It’s a bit too big to wear to “normal” outings but I decided to wear it here cause it fit the occasion. AND who could miss my “eye” earring!!! Love this piece. It’s very edgy and unique and so I knew that it would go perfect with this outfit!

All in all, this was a super fun look to do! I enjoyed going out of my comfort zone and shooting this!!!

Glossier Love ๐Ÿ’•โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒธ

Hi guys! ๐ŸŒˆ

So I’m squeezing in this short review of the Glossier products I have right now cause people have been asking me about them and soooooo, here you go! โค๏ธ To those contemplating whether on spending on these Glossier products, I hope this helps you out! ๐Ÿ™‚

The current products I have right now are the Glossier Priming Moisturizer and two Cloud Paints: Haze & Dusk! I’m still waiting for my boy brow which I can’t wait to try!!!

Glossier Priming Moisturizer

Bottom line: I love this primer. It’s the best one for me so far! It’s not heavy at all and the best part is, it really moisturizes. I get really dry skin sometimes depending on the weather and so it’s great to have a primer that hydrates my skin.

I wasn’t able to take a picture (huhu) but so you guys know, it has quite a slippery texture – and it has a white color (kinda looks like Johnson’s baby lotion). It’s not super thick and so it’s easy to spread. I usually use a pea sized amount for my everyday makeup look but for days that require heavier makeup, I use a bit more!

What I also like about this priming moisturizer, is that it helps my makeup stay longer but doesn’t leave it looking “patchy”. It ends up giving me a dewy look which I super loveeeee. I just have to use blotting paper sometimes but it’s ok, I always have one in my bag anyway.

And so if you guys want a primer that isn’t too heavy, moisturizes your skin and that is good for everyday use, this could be it for you!

It’s $25, a bit pricey but I’d like to think it’s worth it!

Glossier Cloud Paint

I was never really into liquid blush but this here is definitely a game changer! I love the natural look and so you can just imagine how obsessed I got with this product. It gives off the PERFECT natural look! The paint isn’t too heavy or too light, it’s just right. Plus, I love the variety of colors they have! I only ordered 2 though but to be honest, because of how much I love them, I’m thinking of getting the other two aaaahhhhh ๐Ÿ™ˆ They’re $18 each and $30 of you buy 2!

DUSK

Dusk is the perfect pinkish nude color. It’s very natural-looking and perfect for your everyday look. I like using peach blush as compared to pink blush and so when I saw this color, I knew I had to get it! It gives me that rosy look but not the pink kind of rosy look, the orange-ish kind, if you guys know what I mean. I like using this color with dark lipstick shades to contrast the light blush.

Here are some of the shots I took with Dusk so that you can see what it looks like on a human person hahaha (btw I’m using the priming moisturizer as my base)

As you can see, it gives me a bright “peachy” look and I like how it complements my red lips and dark brows. Can you guys see the swatch on my arm??? If you do, you’ll see how pink nude it is and how PRETTY it is โค๏ธ

HAZE

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first to buy Haze. I was debating between getting either Haze or Puff! I was afraid that Haze would look to dark on me but I super loved the color and so I decided to buy it anyway and just figure it out later on. Luckily, it looks beautiful on light-skinned people too!!! It gives that flushed pink look that you usually get after a great workout which makes me feel really good hahaha I like pairing it up with nude lipsticks to kind of contrast the dark pink pigment on my cheeks.

It is not as subtle as Dusk but it’s still natural looking – just a bit more on the pink side. I don’t usually wear pink blush but I like how this looks on me. It’s not too pink, it’s just right. Just be careful though not to put too much! That actually goes for all the cloud paints! LESS IS MORE. Also, it’s a pretty tiny tube so I’m sure you guys would want to make it last!

(Please don’t mind my “not threaded” eyebrows and my eyebags and all the flaws hahaha it’s me trying to be confident in my own skin ๐Ÿ˜…)

I bought these on Makeup Depot! Check out their Instagram here! You can buy these products also on the Glossier site! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway that’s it for this review! I have yet to review my other glossier products and so stay tuned for that! Also, stay tuned for a very special post coming out next week ๐Ÿ’– Again, keep your messages and comments comin’!!!! I am reading every one of them โค๏ธ Happy Easter guys!!!! โ˜บ๏ธ

Makeup Magic โœจ๐Ÿ’„

Hello again โค๏ธ

It’s been a while but my schedule is now finally free which means more blog posts coming up! I’m going back to my ย schedule of posting every Tuesday & Friday so stay tuned for my posts. Again, thank you to all of you guys who have been messaging me and commenting and liking my posts. I’m glad that I get to help you guys in the little ways I can ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a whole new post for me! And definitely out of my comfort zone (like AAAHHHHHH) I’m very used to putting makeup on myself and posting about it BUT it’s a whole different ball game when I put makeup on other people and post about it. I was very nervous about doing this but I have a very good support system (hi friends <3) and they encouraged me to go for it! Plus, my three amazing models really gave me that push and inspired me to go through with it (Hi Justine, Erika and Helene!).

These makeup looks were actually inspired by blueREP’s 25th anniversary concert that took place last Saturday! These looks represent different numbers from different Broadway shows that we performed. I told each of my models to pick one number and that I would come up with a makeup look for it.

This is what I came up with! Again, I am fairly new at this and so I may not know all the tricks and tips yet but I’m getting there. Practice makes perfect and so if you’re game to model for me and don’t mind me touching your face lol hit me up! ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way, these beautiful pictures were taken by my boyfriend, Boo Gabunada, who is an amazing photographer. We’re kinda trying out this MUA- Photographer tandem thing and I guess we’ll see where it goes hahaha

HOME – The Wiz (Justine Narciso)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Originally, for this number, we were told by our costume designer to wear pastel colors -pink, green, yellow, blue, purple but later on, they changed it BUT ANYWAY, this look was based on the first plan. For this makeup look, I wanted to incorporate a bunch of colors but I still wanted to keep it simple and elegant. For her lips, I chose purple lipstick cause what could be more pastel than purple lipstick??! For her eyes, I used shimmery pastel colors such as pink, purple, yellow and blue green and chose to focus all the color on the eyes. I like Justine’s eyes. I like how happy and full of life they look, especially when she smiles and so I was really happy that I got to do this look on her. To make this look a bit more striking, I decided to add a bit of “shiny thingys” which you see on the sides of her eyes. All in all, I think that Justine really pulled off this look: a look that’s bold but still simple and sweet.

WE DANCE – Once On This Island (Erika Rafael)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I was really excited to do this look because it is simply perfect for Erika. I planned for myย “Once On This Island” makeup look to be full of bright colors like purple, red and yellow. I wanted to give off that island tribe vibe and Erika’s look made the whole thing work out perfectly. Erika has beautiful brown skin which complemented the bold colors I used on her – I used red, purple and orange eyeshadow for her eyes and mixed in some yellow face paint to give it an accent. As for her lips, I wanted it to be really red but with a touch of gold (which you will see). I was going back and forth about the face paint but I decided to use it anyway and I’m glad I did. It gives off an ethnic tribe look which is what I was going for. With this look, she’s definitely ready to “dance to the earth and dance to the water”!

MAGIC TO DO – Pippin (Helene Enriquez)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Our take on this musical number is pretty dark – as our musical director, Ejay Yatco described it, “it’s candy with a poison”. In this number, Helene plays a dark magician and so for this look, I wanted it to be quite dark but still pretty playful. I decided to play with the colors, red, black and blue. They can be fun colors but they can also be very dark. Helene’s face is actually quite innocent and so I wanted this makeup look to “break” that. And I think it kinda did. For her eyes, I used mostly red and gray shades and then I spilled out a bit of blue onto her face for a magical effect. I also added some glitter for a “magic touch”. As you can see there are only parts of this look that are really dark such as her lips, lashes and brows. I did this because I wanted her look to be bold but still fun. I did the bottom lash look for an extra “creepy” effect and made her lips pure black with a dab of red – which I really LOVE. In the end, she no longer looked like the “sweet innocent” Helene but this dark magician kinda like a darker Zatanna (if you know her from D.C. hahaha) I mean look at that creepy smile!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHH Well, there you go โค๏ธ This actually happened ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m really happy I finally got the courage to try this out! I had so much fun doing it, especially because of the company! So shoutout to Justine, Erika and Helene for being such great and fun models and to Boo, for being an amazing photographer! Like I said, practice makes perfect and so I’m planning more shoots like this! And so if you guys are game to model for me, hit me up! It would mean a LOT โœจ

March Skincare Haul ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi guys! So I’m finally posting about my skincare haul โค๏ธ Lately, I have researchingย & researching on so many products! And because of that – I ended up buying a lot ๐Ÿ˜… I know, I know. It’s a bit overwhelming but hey, it’s the one thing I like to splurge on (aside from make-up ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you guys because a lot of these things I bought are on a lot of bloggers’ top ten lists!!! Idk, maybe you guys are thinking ofย buying them or maybe you guys want to try a few of these out. And so for this blog post, I am going to be writing about my first impressions of each product as well as how they’ve been performing so far. This is not an extensive review though since I have only been using these products for a while BUT as soon as I feel that I’ve been using these products enough, I’ll let you know what I REALLY think!

1. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Toner

So I ran out of my COSRXย AHA BHA Clarifying Toner and needed a replacement. I wanted to try something new and so I researched for a good one and I stumbled upon this. I read that this toner is very good for sensitive skin because it cleanses and soothes. At first when I tried it, I noticed that it had a strong herbal smell. It’s not “bad” but it’s a bit strong, I’m guessing it’s because it contains a lot of Centella Asiatica which is actually VERY GOOD for healing fresh acne scars and calming down irritated skin. That’s actually one of the biggest reasons why I decided to buy it. I have some fresh scars and irritated skin and I’ve been looking for a tonerย that could calm it down – not just vitamin c since Vitamin c focuses more on lightening dark spots and not necessarily healing those irritated dry patches. Anyway, so far, this toner has been nothing less but amazing. My skin already feels super smooth. I’ve noticed that my fresh acne scars have calmed down and they’re no longer dry and irritated. I like this toner because I saw changes right away in how my skin felt and how less red it was (cause sometimes I get really red). If you’re looking for a toner for your sensitive skin, this could be it for you!
I bought this in Dara Beauty Market (@darabeautymarket) on Instagram! They sell a lot of Korean beauty products as well as other brands!

2. Heimish All Clean Balm

I know what you’re thinking… “I thought Clean it Zero was her holy grail balm cleanser!!?!” Well, I *think* I may have found something better. This is the Heimish All Clean Balm. This was actually recommended to me by my friend, Raya, who commented on my previous post about my skincare routine. This has been getting a bit of hype recently and so I had to try it because people were comparing it to Clean it Zero which is my absolute LOVE. I decided to… scout the competition… hehe. Plus look at the packaging!!!! It’s just so cute!!! So yeah. It’s around the same price as Banila Clean it Zero, if not a little cheaper. Compared to Clean it Zero, it is much more liquid. When I opened it, it looked like thick white goo. And it kinda gave me more of a herbal smell than a fruity smell like the one I get from Banila. But when I tried it. Omg, it was heaven. It just felt so good on my skin! And guess what?! It was able to take off my waterproof mascara way better than Clean it Zero ever could. And what I really like about it is that it’s much more foamy than oily. When I use Banila, right before I wash, my skin looksย super oily cause of the cleanser but when I use this All Clean Balm, it looks more foamy and so I don’t get that icky oily feeling at all. So far, this cleanser has been doing wonders for me! I’m going to finish my Clean it Zero first though since I’m running out anyway and who knows, I might just get another tub of Heimish All Clean Balm!
I got this from The Skin Curator! She sells a lot of COSrx products also!

3. Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about this little jar of cream moisturizer. One of the bloggers I follow (one of my favorites and the reason I bought this cream), Snow White & The Asian Pear actually wrote a blog post on this product and that pretty much convinced me that YES I AM GOING TO BUY THIS. At first I thought it was a bigger jar cause it looked big, but when I got it, it was pretty tiny hahaha for a price of P1000+ so yeah pretty pricey BUT definitely worth it. It contains beneficial ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Ceramides. And so it’s very good for whitening, elasticity, anti-aging, moisturizing and hydrating! Yep, that’s all in this little jar. So far, this is the only moisturizer I’ve been using morning and night and my skin loves it! After putting it on, my face feels so soft and plump! It hydrates my skin without making it too oily or shiny. My only comment though is that it isn’t moisturizing enough for my dry patches and so I still add a bit more of my COSRX Honey Ceramide moisturizer on those areas for an extra moisturizing kick. Can’t wait to see what more this cream will do for me! It looks very promising!
I also bought this from Dara Beauty Market!

4. Herbivore Blue Clay Detoxifying Treatment Clay Mask

Love. I bought this because I wanted a mask that could calm down my flare ups or troubled times. And this does exactly that. It’s a clay mask and so it’s a bit messy BUT trust me when I tell you that it’s not as messy as compared to the other clay masks. Plus, you don’t need that much powder to cover your whole face! At first I thought, “Wow, this jar is going to be gone by next month.” But NO. It will last way longer than that. Because it doesn’t need that much powder as it doesn’t have to be too thick. So yeah, keep that in mind! I like using this mask because it really calms down my skin. And it doesn’t sting unlike other masks. I have sensitive skin and so I was kind of worried it might get irritated BUT this worked for me. The only thing I may not like about this product though is that it can be a bit drying and so you really have to moisturize after using it. And don’t overuse it! Maybe twice a month would be enough, especially if you have sensitive skin. Remember, less is more!
I bought this from Makeup Depot! Check them out on Instagram!

5. Origins Masks (Drink-up Intensive Overnight Mask & Out of trouble 10-minute mask)

I bought these two in Guam. I’ve been meaning to try Origins masks but they’re a bit pricey in Manila and so I decided to buy them in Guam for $26 each. I’m glad I did because I have been really liking these two! I bought the Drink-up Intensive Overnight mask because I was having trouble with my dry patches and so I wanted to find a mask that would moisturize them and so far this has been doing wonders. It has a fruity smell and so it smells very yummy! It’s the kind of mask that doesn’t leave you feeling oily. Once it’s absorbed by the skin, it doesn’t leave any residue. My skin just feels smooth, soft and hydrated. As for the 10-minute out of trouble make, I bought it cause I wanted a mask I could use for urgent times when I’m starting a breakout and I don’t want it to continue. I had a bad breakout in Guam and so I tested this out and it worked! It contains salicylic acid and zinc oxide which really helps in calming down the skin and decreasing breakouts. I’m going to continue using this and hopefully, my breakouts become less instense!

6. Mario Badescu Haul (Buffering Lotion, Drying Cream, Drying Lotion, AHA Botanical Body Soap, Rose Water Facial spray – not in the picture)

So they started selling this brand in Rustans’ and I decided to try it out because I have heard so many bloggers rave about it – even celebrities. I’ve tried everything except the Soap and so far I’ve been loving them all. The two I really love though are the Drying Lotion and the Facial Spray. The drying lotion is one of my holy grail products! I usually put it on pimples that are exposed – not cysts because that’s not what it works on. It stings a bit when I apply it but I really feel it killing the bacteria and drying out the pimple! And tbh I love that feeling (is that weird) hahaha as for the facial spray, I use it everyday! I was actually considering buying the glossier facial spray instead of this one but the Mario Badescu one is much cheaper and I just think it’s much more practical. It hydrates my skin so well and leaves on a dewy look which I absolutely love!

7. Sulwhasoo Masks (Overnight Vitalizing Mask Ex, TruFresh Soothing Mask, Clarifying Mask Ex, Radiance Energy Mask)

This was a complete impulse buy. I know that Sulwhasoo is a very good brand and so I decided to buy all these “mini-masks” for P1000 which isn’t bad. I haven’t had a chance to use any of them yet though cause I’ve been really busy and I’ve been using the other products but so far I’ve been reading good reviews on these four masks. I honestly can’t wait to try them out! And for sure I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
I bought this again from Dara Beauty Market! They sell so many good brands for reasonable prices!

8. Simple Micellar Cleansing Water & Oil Balancing Cleansing wipes (not in the picture)

I heard Simple is a really good brand for sensitive skin! You can get it almost anywhere! It’s a British Brand that’s been gaining a lot of hype here in the Philippines! I bought the Micellar Water from Pcx and the wipes from Kmart in Guam. They’re really affordable and so I say, go get em! They’re also very gentle. I use them when I need extra cleansing or when I have a lot of heavy makeup on. I do a lot of cleansing when I wear heavy makeup because the last thing I want is my pores clogged up with makeup. So far, these products have been helping me out with my “triple cleanse process” which I really like! And so YAY.

9. Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash

This was another impulse buy from Dara Beauty Market! It’s really affordable and so I wanted to try it out. It’s a powder wash and so it starts out as powder but once you rub it onto your damp face, it’ll turn into a foamy cleanser. I only used it twice so far but during those two times, I really felt it exfoliating my skin. Since they’re pretty much like grains, they really go deep and cleanse and exfoliate your skin. It’s also really fun to use tbh cause it’s powder and so it’s a cool product to have. I need to use it a bit more to have a better idea of how it’s benefiting my skin, but I definitely look forward to it!

10. COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream

Snail products have always been good to my skin. I love how these products make my skin feel moisturized and plump. I love my COSRX snail essence and so I decided to try out this cream because I heard it’s been getting so many good reviews. So far it’s been really helping with my fine lines and healing some of my dry patches! It’s a thick white kind of transparent cream with no fragrance at all which I appreciate cause there are times when I get turned off by products with strong fragrances. I use this in conjunction with my Dynasty Cream. I switch between the two and so far they’ve been working great and complementing each other and so they both really help!

11. Pure Actives Emu Oil

I was researching for a good oil I could use with my everyday moisturizer and this is what I found. Emu Oil is said to be good for many things! This oil does everything. It heals, moisturizes, hydrates and even more! I usually mix this with my moisturizer. I put around 2-3 drops. It definitely makes my skin feel so much more supple – as well as “glowy”. I put the oil directly on my fresh acne scars and it healed them plus moisturized them and so later on, they were no longer itchy or irritated but instead soothed. Plus it’s very good for sensitive skin!
Buy it from beautyMNL and try it out now!

12. Mumuso Black Pearl Eye Masks

I love eye masks!!!! I guess it’s cause I have really dark circles under my eyes plus they tend to get dry and so these are a must for me. I used to use the snail kind but I decided to try something new and therefore I bought this one! I love how they’re black! Well duh cause black pearl. But I read that black pearl is a favorite in Korean skincare! And so I was very excited to try these out. I only got to use them once though cause I haven’t found the time BUT when I used the first pair, I definitely noticed a change – my under eyes were much more hydrated and plump. The darkness was still there (wasn’t really expecting it to go away anyway) But when I applied concealer it was much more moisturized and I didn’t have fine lines I usually do and so I’m really looking forward to using them again and seeing the difference! Plus Mumuso is such an affordable Korean brand and so what are you waiting for????
