Hello again ❤️
It’s been a while but my schedule is now finally free which means more blog posts coming up! I’m going back to my schedule of posting every Tuesday & Friday so stay tuned for my posts. Again, thank you to all of you guys who have been messaging me and commenting and liking my posts. I’m glad that I get to help you guys in the little ways I can 🙂
This is a whole new post for me! And definitely out of my comfort zone (like AAAHHHHHH) I’m very used to putting makeup on myself and posting about it BUT it’s a whole different ball game when I put makeup on other people and post about it. I was very nervous about doing this but I have a very good support system (hi friends <3) and they encouraged me to go for it! Plus, my three amazing models really gave me that push and inspired me to go through with it (Hi Justine, Erika and Helene!).
These makeup looks were actually inspired by blueREP’s 25th anniversary concert that took place last Saturday! These looks represent different numbers from different Broadway shows that we performed. I told each of my models to pick one number and that I would come up with a makeup look for it.
This is what I came up with! Again, I am fairly new at this and so I may not know all the tricks and tips yet but I’m getting there. Practice makes perfect and so if you’re game to model for me and don’t mind me touching your face lol hit me up! 🙂
By the way, these beautiful pictures were taken by my boyfriend, Boo Gabunada, who is an amazing photographer. We’re kinda trying out this MUA- Photographer tandem thing and I guess we’ll see where it goes hahaha
HOME – The Wiz (Justine Narciso)
Originally, for this number, we were told by our costume designer to wear pastel colors -pink, green, yellow, blue, purple but later on, they changed it BUT ANYWAY, this look was based on the first plan. For this makeup look, I wanted to incorporate a bunch of colors but I still wanted to keep it simple and elegant. For her lips, I chose purple lipstick cause what could be more pastel than purple lipstick??! For her eyes, I used shimmery pastel colors such as pink, purple, yellow and blue green and chose to focus all the color on the eyes. I like Justine’s eyes. I like how happy and full of life they look, especially when she smiles and so I was really happy that I got to do this look on her. To make this look a bit more striking, I decided to add a bit of “shiny thingys” which you see on the sides of her eyes. All in all, I think that Justine really pulled off this look: a look that’s bold but still simple and sweet.

WE DANCE – Once On This Island (Erika Rafael)
I was really excited to do this look because it is simply perfect for Erika. I planned for my “Once On This Island” makeup look to be full of bright colors like purple, red and yellow. I wanted to give off that island tribe vibe and Erika’s look made the whole thing work out perfectly. Erika has beautiful brown skin which complemented the bold colors I used on her – I used red, purple and orange eyeshadow for her eyes and mixed in some yellow face paint to give it an accent. As for her lips, I wanted it to be really red but with a touch of gold (which you will see). I was going back and forth about the face paint but I decided to use it anyway and I’m glad I did. It gives off an ethnic tribe look which is what I was going for. With this look, she’s definitely ready to “dance to the earth and dance to the water”!

MAGIC TO DO – Pippin (Helene Enriquez)
Our take on this musical number is pretty dark – as our musical director, Ejay Yatco described it, “it’s candy with a poison”. In this number, Helene plays a dark magician and so for this look, I wanted it to be quite dark but still pretty playful. I decided to play with the colors, red, black and blue. They can be fun colors but they can also be very dark. Helene’s face is actually quite innocent and so I wanted this makeup look to “break” that. And I think it kinda did. For her eyes, I used mostly red and gray shades and then I spilled out a bit of blue onto her face for a magical effect. I also added some glitter for a “magic touch”. As you can see there are only parts of this look that are really dark such as her lips, lashes and brows. I did this because I wanted her look to be bold but still fun. I did the bottom lash look for an extra “creepy” effect and made her lips pure black with a dab of red – which I really LOVE. In the end, she no longer looked like the “sweet innocent” Helene but this dark magician kinda like a darker Zatanna (if you know her from D.C. hahaha) I mean look at that creepy smile!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHH Well, there you go ❤️ This actually happened 🙂 I’m really happy I finally got the courage to try this out! I had so much fun doing it, especially because of the company! So shoutout to Justine, Erika and Helene for being such great and fun models and to Boo, for being an amazing photographer!
