The Body Shop Face Masks – Current faves ๐ŸŒธ

Hi. Hello.

Wow it’s been so long since I’ve written a blog post and I’m super sorry that it’s taken FOREVER. I’ve been busy with work, travel and MY NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL! Yes you heard that right. I am now vlogging!!!!! I’ve been wanting to do it for so long and I finally took the leap of faith and posted my first 3 vlogs!!!

If you wanna subscribe to my channel – click here! It would mean the world to meee ๐Ÿ’œ

Okay. So now that I started vlogging, I won’t be able to update my blog as much as I did before BUUUUUUT rest assured I will still be the same old leadiiinglady – meaning I’ll still post about skincare, makeup, fashion and other things. But instead of writing it, I’ll be talking about it.

ANYWAYYYY. Time to talk about my current skincare faves! And they are from The Body Shop.

When I first saw these face masks, I was kinda hesitant to buy them because of the price (1K+ for just ONE tub). Yeah, I know, super pricey. And so I decided to do my research first. Turns out, these masks were doing so well!!! And so when I went to the states, I decided to buy one on my very first day there – The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask.

1. Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I bought this one first for two reasons: one, because it’s their best seller and two, because I thought that among all these masks, this one suited mine the most. And I was right!!!!!!

This mask is perfect for my skin! Quick background – I’m combination but a bit more on the oily side and so my pores get clogged up all the time. And so I needed something that would really clean my pores and purify my skin. This mask aims to do just that. The Himalayan Charcoal works to unclog the pores and deep cleanse the skin to rid it of impurities. If you guys are familiar with skincare, you’d know that clay masks and charcoal masks are holy grails for those with acne and problematic skin – aka ME.

Aside from it cleansing my skin, this mask also exfoliates it! After applying the mask and leaving it on for 10 minutes, I would wash it off while rubbing it circles GENTLY on my skin. It would leave my face feeling clean and smooth. Just the way I like it!

For those of you with sensitive skin, just be careful! The mask may cause redness or a stinging sensation. If it does, maybe it’s just not for you ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2. Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

This is the second mask I got! The ingredient, rice, has always been good to my skin. I just love the feeling and the brightness it gives me. Which is why after enjoying the first mask so much, I had to buy this next! Tbh though, before getting this, I haven’t used the ingredient Ginseng as much but I heard it’s very good for brightening your complexion and caring for dark spots which is why I thought… WHY NOT?!

I LOVE THIS MASK. My only regret is not buying this sooner!!! One, it smells good!!! I love the smell – it’s as if I were getting a legit facial in a spa or something. Two, it feels good!!! When I put it on my skin, it doesnt sting or feel weird. Three, it leaves me looking brighter than ever! Like I said, rice has never let me down BUT RICE with GINSENG??? DAMN. What a great combo <333

I will be using this mask every week for sure!!!

3. Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask

Okay. So this isn’t in the exact same category as the first two. It’s not a wash-off mask. It’s a leave-on mask that you put on before going to bed. But I’m adding it here because it’s another one of my faves.

Tea tree oil has always helped me, whether it be in the form of a cleanser, toner or oil. And so when I saw this mask, I had to take a chance and buy it. I tried it that night and I was not disappointed. Tea tree is great for those of you with troubled skin because it helps clear the imperfections as well as get rid of bacteria and soothe your skin.

When I used this, I woke up to skin that wasn’t red at all. Usually my skin gets red but the redness wasn’t there. My skin didn’t feel irritated or look too oily. In fact, my skin looked good. And so if you have problematic skin like me and you’re looking for a night mask, this could be the one for you! I really salute The Body Shop for their Tea Tree line because everything is just amazing – from their masks down to their tiny Tea Tree Oil bottles. And so go go go guys!

I know this was a short review but I hope this helped you guys out!!! If you guys are thinking about buying these masks, go for it! Remember, you don’t need to buy them all at once. Buy one first and take your time. Don’t forget to do a patch test just in case!

I’ll be updating my blog again soon with more makeup shoots and so stay tuned for that! ๐Ÿ’œ

Let’s talk about Clay Masks.

Hi guys! I’m baaack! And as you can see, leadiiinglady has got a new look ๐Ÿ˜‰

My blog is now almost 7 months old and so I’ve decided to upgrade to a more sophisticated theme. At first this was more of a hobby but I’ve been enjoying it so much that I think I’m now ready to take it to the next level! I’ve started a few collaborations and so watch out for that. Plus, I’m open to more opportunities and so feel free to send me an email or a dm on Instagram!

Anyway, back to my blog post!

Let’s talk about clay masks.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with clay masks. The thing is, it’s really hard to find a good clay mask for sensitive. Most clay masks tend to be very drying and tightening. Aside from that, a lot of them make the skin red and stingy. I personally have sensitive skin and so I really had to find the right one for me.

LUCKILY, I didn’t find just one but TWO perfect clay masks for me and my skin and I’m here to share them with you!

NeoGen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

One of my fave masks of all time!!! But tbh, it’s not a leave-on mask. What makes this mask so great is how gentle and effective it is for me. It does not sting whatsoever and it makes my face feel squeaky clean. Like I said, you don’t leave it on your face. You apply it with your fingers and rub it all around in a circular motion. When you first apply it, the mask will bubble (you will look like a cloud hahaha) – after about 5 minutes of spreading it all around, it’ll eventually flatten and that’s the time you wash it off.

The consistency is really bubbly and light (as you can see above) and so it can get a bit messy especially when applied but otherwise, it does what it’s supposed to. After using it, it’s the best feeling in the world! My face feels so fresh and clean – plus my pores appear much smaller and cleaner. It was love at first sight with this mask. I saw it and I just had to buy it after reading so many great reviews! And I am definitely not disappointed ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought this from BeautyMNL!

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Clay Mask

I’ve only used this twice but I am already in love with this product! I’ve always felt iffy about leave on clay masks because they really tend to dry my skin out but I got lucky with this one!

I’ve been looking at this line from the Body Shop because of all the natural ingredients used. I decided to buy this one because it’s used to mainly purify and that’s what I needed. I was really tempted to buy the other ones too cause they look so pretty but ugh this mask is pretty pricey ($28).

Anyway, I love the ingredients used especially Charcoal and Tea Tree! Charcoal takes off the excess sebum and cleans the pores while Tea Tree helps get rid of bacteria and purifies.

At first I was worried about the smell because of my sensitive skin. The smell is very strong and minty and so I was afraid I was going to breakout but guess what??? My skin didnt have any bad reaction whatsoever. In fact, my skin wasn’t even red once I washed the mask off! It was LESS red and that barely ever happens. Which means that this mask really cleaned and calmed my skin down.

Just a note! When you use the mask, you’ll experience a bit of a cool tightening feeling but that is completely normal! Don’t forget I have sensitive skin and this mask worked for me! And so I’m pretty sure it’ll work for you too! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Since this was such a success, I’m already looking forward to buying more masks from the same line!!!

I got this from The Body Shop for $28!

That’s it for my clay mask post!!! Stay tuned for a makeup post coming soon ๐Ÿ’œ

Makeup Art: Flowers, the Sky and the Sea ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi guys! So I’m back again with ANOTHER makeup shoot ๐ŸŒธ

If you noticed, the title of this blog post has the word ‘art’ in it. That’s because to do these makeup looks, I used my ‘artsy side’.ย I love to paint. My favorite kind of paint is acrylic. It’s been an interest of mine since I was in HS.ย If you came into myย room, the first thing you would notice are the bunch of canvases displayed all around. These are paintings I’ve done since I was 14 years old.

For this shoot, I wanted a makeup x painting kind of look. And so I decided to focus onย two things: the eyes and the lips. Good thing my model, Ylo has both beautiful eyes and lips (hehe love u). She’s my good friend and she’s beautiful! Check out her IG here! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did two looks for this shoot, a floral makeup look & a sky and sea makeup look. Hope you guys like them! All photos were taken and processed by me ๐ŸŒธ

For the first look, I did a ‘floral summary kind of look’. For her eyeshadow base, I used Juvia’s Nubian Palette. I used the light bronze and glittery orange shade. I darkened her crease with the Naked Basics Palette. For her liner, I used my metallic green face paint stick and for the liner under her eye I used an orange metallic color. The flowers on her eyes were done using face paint and a super tiny paint brush. It was really hard to do the flowers because the face paint was slippery and so sometimes it wouldnt stay and so I had to really use a lot of paint. To finish up this look, I used Revlon’s Crimson lipstick for her lips! It just complements her eye makeup beautifully! (Also look at her skin color! It’s GORGEOUS! Perfect for this look ๐ŸŒž)

ย The pictures posted above were taken with my ringlight. Here are some photos of the makeup look with natural lighting ๐Ÿ™‚

For the second look, I used cool tones and so yes, super opposite of the first look. I wanted to paint (symbolically) the sky and sea on her face. It was quite difficult. But in the end, the look worked. I couldn’t help but sing “how far I’ll go” while doing this because seriously… “see the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls meeee”! ๐ŸŒŠ

For this look, I really played around. I didn’t have a solid planย when I started. I just had an idea that I wanted there to be some sort of sea and sky. For her eyeshadow base, I used my Pro 28 Rainbow Metallics eyeshadow palette! The blue colors are sooo pretty! I used three shades of blue: sky blue, dark blue and blue green. I also used Juvia’s Nubian Palette for this certain shade of dark blue. For the clouds on her eyes, I used white face paint. The clouds are so cute hahahaha and then I finished up her eyes by adding blue glitter. I always freak out when I work with glitter cause it gets everywhere but it just completes the look and so I had to use it! For her lips, I used the metallic blue face paint stick and added glitters for one half and white face paint + blue face paint for the other half. It supposed to represent the deep part of the sea (the dark side) and the shore (the light side).

All in all, it wasn’t an easy look to do (it was quite messy) but it was really fun! And look the pictures are nice!!!

Anti Haul Post #1 โœจ๐ŸŒธ

Welcome to my first post of this series: Anti Haul ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

Okay. So you guys might be wondering… what kind of post is this?? Why is it called an “anti haul post”?? Is that even a thing??

Well, yes. Yes it is.

I recently got this brilliant idea from one of the skincare bloggers I follow – sharmtoaster! Check her out on Instagram! Apparently, she got this idea from another blogger, Kimberly Clark!

So what is an “anti haul” post? It’s pretty much the opposite of a haul post. I’m going to be sharing with you guys a few things that I have been tempted to buy BUT choose NOT TO BUY because I DON’T NEED THEM. I’m sure a lot of you skincare and makeup addicts out there can relate to me when I say that the TEMPTATION IS REAL. And so this post is here to remind me that there are some things I may want but ultimately don’t need.

I think this is a BRILLIANT idea. Whenever I get tempted to buy some of these products, I will look back at this post and say NO. Because I am a strong woman (HAHAHAHUHU)

Okay, here we go. Time to face the truth.

1. Sunday Riley Luna/UFO Oil

I’ve been wanting to try this brand for the longest time especially their Luna and UFO oil. I’ve heard good reviews about this product, some calling it their “holy grail” BUT I’ve also been hearing reviews saying that it’s not so great for sensitive skin. And so right now I’m pretty much 50-50 when it comes to buying this product. But I think I’ll just let it go, for real now.ย

The thing is, it’s a huge risk to take especially if you have sensitive skin to get a product with alarming ingredients (I read about it in some reviews) EVEN THOUGH there are some promising words on this product. It’s just not worth all the $$$. I really thought about it. If you’re gonna buy this product for so much money and then let’s say after one try, it irritates your skin – it’ll be such a waste. And such a hassle to return or re-sell.

And the thing is, right now, I DONT NEED it. I’ve got my Herbivore Lapis oil and it has been doing wonders for my skin and so why would I need to try something new that has a good chance of being both wonderful or terrible for my skin. You get me?

2. Kim x Kylie Lip Set

Omg. I’ve had my eyes set on this for a while. But nope, I’ve decided not to get it. Why? Because I have a lot of lipsticks that I hardly use to begin with plus adding 4 more to my collection would just make my dresser messier.

I guess what makes this decision hard is that I’m a nude girl. I know that sounds wrong. But I am. Nude is my go-to shade and so when I saw this set – I immediately wanted it! I’ve been researching on it, reading reviews about it. But I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a set I really need.

First of all, the colors look so similar. What’s the diff? Why would I buy a set of four lipsticks and pretty much have only one color? Right? Also, some colors won’t really make a difference when it comes to my skin color. They’ll just all look the same. And so what’s the point?ย

Sure, they’re a collab with Kim and they look pretty and all. But ask yourself… do you really need them? Or can you get it somewhere else or do you already even have those nudes in your pile somewhere? Think about it.

3. Glossier Invisible Shield

Okay, this has just come out. But even before then, I was already thinking of buying it. I’ve recently gotten into glossier and I’ve been loving the brand and so when they said that they were coming out with an SPF, I said I needed to buy it. I wear SPF everyday. It’s crucial in my everyday routine and so it WAS pretty much a given that no matter the price, I would buy it.

Mmmmmm how about no. It’s just too expensive for a sunscreen. TOO EXPENSIVE. I get that it’s glossier but you can get better SPF somewhere else. I’ve even read reviews that it’s pretty underwhelming and that for me was a major turn off.

I just decided to finish off the SPF I have now which is COSRX and Missha – they are great and AFFORDABLE. And so why do I need to buy the glossier SPF? I don’t. And so I won’t.

4. Milk Matcha Toner

I’ve recently ordered the Milk cooling water and I’m excited to use it – I’ve heard great review about it and I think it’ll really be a great addition to my makeup routine. While ordering the cooling water, I was actually tempted to buy the matcha toner too.

The color is really pretty!!!!! (I’m weak when it comes to pretty colors ugh) And I’ve always wanted to try a stick toner!!! I know that people have said that it’s a bit unsanitary cause it’s a stick – but on the contrary I’ve heard great reviews about it.

Ultimately though, I chose not to buy it. First of all, the price is way above budget and two, I don’t need it. I already have a good toner that works for me. Sometimes, less is more. If you use too many different toners, it might end up making your skin look worse.

I chose to take it easy and just focus on what I have now. And so far, so good.

5. Any Colourpop product

There was a time before when Colourpop first got popular and I bought 10 liquid lipsticks at one time. And guess what? Now, I barely use them. I definitely learned then and I’m definitely going to apply it now.

So far, Colourpop has been coming out with a lot of new things that I’ve wanted – like the whole Alexis Ren line. When it came out, I had my cart ready but I thought about it again and chose to delay it a bit. But now, I realized that it’s better to let it go for good.

They’re pretty and tempting but thinking about it now – they’ll end up like the 10 lipsticks I barely use.

What makes it hard is that they always come up with new things that are just so cute!!!!! You’ll want to buy them because you think you need them but really, you don’t. Highlighters? Lipsticks? Eye shadows? You have that. Like I should tell myself sometimes, “look before you buy”. Meaning look at what you have BEFORE you buy!

6. Shangpree Marine Under Eye patches

I love under eye patches. Loveeeee under eye masks!!! They’re so fun to wear hahaha but aside from that, they really help the part under my eyes. I usually have huge eye bags, plus dry and dark under eyes. So it’s great that they now have eyes masks that I can use everyday!

There’s this one in particular that I’ve been wanting to buy – the one from Peach and Lily. There are these green eye patches that I’ve been eyeing. I think there are about 30-40 pairs? And I’ve heard such great things about them!!!!ย

But I must say no because I already have a few packs of eye masks to begin with ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I confess that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to face masks and eye masks and so it’s a bit easier for me to say no this time around.

7. Jelly Lipsticks with Flowers

Okay so this is a bit petty but I’ve been wanting one for the longest time – they’re just so cut and pretty!!! The packaging kills me hahahaha I’ve been tempted to buy them more than once but I’ve chosen not to. I’ve tried to buy one from HelloGorgeous, Instagram shops and BeautyMNL but each time I’ve left my cart hanging. Cause at the end of the day, it’s not too different from any other lipstick.ย

It’s just a flower in a lipstick that leaves a pretty pink color. I have to keep telling myself that over and over again. They may say it “changes” according to your mood but that doesn’t really happen. Almost every shade is the same and it pretty much depends who wears it – that’s it.

And so no, super cute jelly lipsticks!!!! I will not give in to you!!!!

8. HUDA Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been trying to find a palette with warm tones as well as glittery ones and when I saw this palette I thought it was perfect! But then I saw the price and it wasn’t perfect hahaha it ย as a bit too expensive for me ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Tbh I really spend on palettes because they’re not cheap to begin with but I’m not completely sold on this palette to spend this X amount of money on it. I mean, the colors are sooooo pretty and sooooo pigmented!!! But I’m sure I can find a (bit) cheaper alternative somewhere else.ย

The colors are similar to a lot of palettes such as Sleek and Zoeva. And so I think it won’t be hard to find an alternative. Personally, I’ve been looking at the Anastasia modern renaissance palette (it’s a bit cheaper) and so far I think I’m going to buy that one when I go to the states. (Yup, I’ll be leaving soon and I can’t contain my excitement and so I gotta save while I can HAHAHAHA)

That’s the end of my anti haul post!!! That was actually a bit fun to write, I’ll admit. I promise myself I won’t buy any of the products listed down here! (I’ll only buy them if I run out or something but tbh that isn’t anytime soon!!!!) I guess what’s left is to stay strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

I hope you enjoyed this post! It’s a bit different from my other posts but again, I think the idea is brilliant!! Maybe you guys should try it out! ๐Ÿ˜‰ What products would you add to your “anti haul” list? ๐Ÿ™‚ let me know in the comments section!

April loves: Skincare ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿป

This year is going by TOO FAST. Literally.

I can’t believe it’s already May??? It feels as if only yesterday was New Year’s Eve. I remember it so clearly in my head ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Anyway since we’re starting a new month, I wanna tell you guys about my favorite skincare products during the previous month: April.

April was kinda tricky cause the weather was all over the place! And when the weather is all over the place, I’m bound to have bipolar skin – sometimes too oily, other times too dry. And therefore a lot of skincare products come into play.

I’ve discovered a few products that have done wonders for my skin. Some, I have already even raved about ( I couldn’t wait!!!) And so for those I’ve already talked about, I’ll be linking them to my previous blog posts so you can read more about them!

Anyway here we goooooo โ˜€๏ธ

1. Hello Gorgeous Facial Mask Purifying

This brand has never let me down once since I’ve started using it and so it was no surprise that I absolutely fell in love with their Facial Purifying Mask! This mask pretty much screams PUREEE! My skin has been breaking out recently because of “product x” and so I’ve been trying to bring it back to the light side (see what I did there…. Happy May Sith (6) HAHAHAHA)

This mask has been helping me do that. The number one ingredient I love here is Tea Tree. Tea Tree oil has ALWAYS been good to my skin – no matter in what form. And so I wasn’t afraid to try this out.

This mask is pretty thin compared to your regular clay masks. Although it does have that “tight feeling” as it dries, it did not irritate my skin or cause my skin to become red. In fact, it made my skin feel clean. It also dried my trouble spots and helped them heal faster – which I really needed at the time.

I would recommend this mask to everyone! Especially those of you with troubled skin! It smells good, it works and it’s affordable too! Check @hellogorgeousph Instagram to buy!

2. COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad

This is actually one of the very first COSRX products I used. But when I emptied it, I had so many other products to try out which is why I didn’t buy another one. But recently I realized that it did help me a lot back then which is why I got a new tub – and I’m really glad I did!

These are pre-moistened pads that helps exfoliate and clean the skin. The summer heat has been making me really oily and so I’ve been working harder now to make sure that all the excess oil and dirt are cleaned off. And this has been helping!!!

What I love about these pads is that they are so simple yet effective. All you need to do is take one pad and use it to wipe your face – there is no hassle whatsoever. And I just love the feeling after when I feel so clean and light. BEST FEELING EVER.

Here’s a tip though! If you want the tub to last longer, you can consider cutting each pad in half. Because sometimes a whole pad is more than enough! So why not double the amount you have? ๐Ÿ˜

I bought mine from Althea but you can buy yours from The Skin Curator or BeautyMNL!

3. Sulwhasoo Clarifying Mask

This is my go-to peel off mask right now. Yes, I know. Pretty pricey. But guys, THE TUBE IS HUGE. It’ll last me a loooong time!! And so I wouldn’t worry much about the price – but more of the effect ๐Ÿ˜‰

And the effect is beautiful!!!!! This is a simple mask. It’s ingredients – Solomon’s Seal, Japanese Honeysuckle & Honey make this mask relaxing, calming and clarifying. They work to clear the skin and keep it hydrated and plump.

Everytime I feel like my skin is having a bad day or is tired, I put this mask on and I feel so much better. The scent really helps too!!! It’s a simple peel-off mask that reminds me that even on bad days, we girls still have our beauty products ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought mine in Althea cause it was on sale! Go check it out!!!

4. Hello Gorgeous Caffeine Eye Serum

Who here loves coffee????? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป ย I am a big coffee drinker. I drink coffee A LOT (but I haven’t been recently cause of my acid reflux problem UGH) anyway, when I saw this eye serum, I just had to get it!!!!

Just so you guys know, I still use my skinfood salmon eye cream!!!! This is just for my dark circles and puffy under eyes.

First of all, I love the scent. It smells like pure coffee. Wonderful. And when I roll it under my eyes, it doesn’t feel oily at all. It feels more like a pasty serum (it’s not thick though) but I feel the super duper tiny grains of coffee and so after rolling it under my eyes, I usually use my finger to further rub it in (but not too much!!!!)

I love this because it complements my eye cream! I was so afraid this was going to dry the skin under my eyes cause my skin I super dry to begin with but IT DIDNT. In fact, it helped my eyes become less puffy. I sleep really late and so that’s a really big problem BUT thanks to my new little weapon – I don’t need to worry about looking like a zombie!!!

Again, if you guys want to try some of these cute AND affordable beauty products, just check out their site or their Instagram page!

5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

You can never go wrong with Mario Badescu! I mean, even Kylie Jenner uses this brand and specifically this product.

Acne has always been my problem and so it’s great to have a little medicine here and there. This is my favorite acne fighter!!! The pink drying lotion!!!

It’s powder and liquid in one bottle. Okay, important note: DO NOT SHAKE. It’s not supposed to be mixed. The two are supposed to be completely separated and that’s what makes it work. It’s mostly alcohol and salicylic acid! You dip your cotton bud into the alcohol part until it reaches the bottom and then take it back out. Make sure it’s pink (just saying hahaha)

I love how this product works for me. Whenever I apply to my pimples, it stings a bit (clearly killing the bacteria) and then dries it up. And then tadaaaa the pimple heals quickly right after!!!

It’s a bit pricey for a small bottle but trust me, that’s a LOT of product right there. It’ll be more than enough for you!

You can buy this product in Rustan’s!!! They sell other Mario Badescu products there as well ๐Ÿ™‚

6. Tosowoong Dr. Troubex Daily Soothing Treatment

I loveeee my masks ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Recently though, I’ve been looking for a mask to help with my troubled skin. I heard great things about this mask and so I decided to buy 3! And I finished them all… in the span of a week. Because I LOVED IT.

This mask has one ingredient in particular which I like – Centella Asiatica Extract! I’ve been using this ingredient in different products for a while and it’s been helping my skin a lot. Mainly in calming it down and helping it heal.

I love using face mask and so it’s great to find one that really suits your needs! It helps cause instead of doing your whole routine, you can just face mask (especially during lazy days hehe) and so isn’t that great???? ๐Ÿ˜

I bought mine on BeautyMNL!!! Go check it out!!!

7. Heimish All Clean Balm

I’ve raved about this before!!!!! And I’ll rave about it about it again!!!! I love this product!!! It helps rid my skin of all the excess oil and dirt after such a long day.

Check out my latest review of it here! โ˜บ๏ธ

8. Herbivore Lapis Facial Oil

This is another product I previously raved about! It has a beautiful shade of blue ๐Ÿ’™ hahaha but that’s not the only reason why I love it. It helps balance the oil on my skin as well as calm down my flare ups!

Check out my latest review of it here!!!

Well that’s it for my April loves: Skincare!!!! Next up: Makeup!!!! Get ready to see some of my favorite makeup products that I’ve been loving! โค๏ธ

One thing I love doing during Coachella season (since I can’t go there myself huhu) is looking at all theย fashion outfits and makeup looks! Every year, there is always something new, something fresh, something different and I just love getting the inspiration for more looks!

This year I saw some really great looks and I thoughtย hey, since I have a blog now why don’t I do my own Coachella x LeadiiingLady twist?!? HELL YEAH.

At first I was a bit hesitant to go for it because this is something really new to me. I haven’t posted a fashion blog post before nor have I posted a blog post with me actually modeling. But I thought about what I said in my previous blog post- that I can’t keep holding back because I’m insecure or afraid of what people might think. This is me being me, this is me expressing myself. This is something that I shouldn’t be ashamed of doing. And so after going back and forth, this post finally happened.

This is my first FASHION x MAKEUP POST and so please bear with me ๐Ÿ˜… I’m not sure if I’m doing this right but hopefully I am! And if you enjoyed this post, please let me know in the comments section. That way, I can come up with better, more amazing posts for you guys in the future ๐Ÿ’œ

All fashion and makeup looks were done by me. All photos were taken by my amazing photographer/boyfriend, Boo Gabunada. Again, we’re trying out this MUA x Photographer tandem and it’s going REALLY WELL hehe and so I’ll be posting about a lot of more projects in the near future ๐Ÿ˜‰

***NOTE: Some outfits/makeup looks were inspired by my favorite celebrities & bloggers at Coachella and so I’ll be posting their photos here for your reference!***

For this look, I wanted to go for a feminine, simple and pretty look. Basically – “a breath of fresh air”. Which is why I chose to keep the outfit candid by using a plain white off shoulder top (H&M), a denim jumper (Cotton On) and a pair of beat up white converse (Converse).

For the makeup look, I chose a different take by making my eyes colorful by adding blue, purple, green and yellow eyeshadow under my eyes. Can I just say, I used Hello Gorgeous PH‘s rainbow eyeshadow/highlighter and it is THE BEST. It’s sooo pigmented and the colors are beautiful! Plus it stayed on the whole time!!! Beautiful product indeed! As for my hair, I did a pigtail french braid but it’s not seen ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I braided my hair cause I wanted a playful young look in the mix and this hairstyle exhibits just that!

In all, I loved how my makeup complemented my outfit. It gave a lot more life to the look without overpowering it – in the end, I was able to go for that flower child look with a colorful twist.

Makeup used: Foundation – Etude House Double Lasting Foundation (Petal); Concealer – Fit Me Maybelline; Contour – Tony Moly Contour Stick; Powder – RCMA; Eyebrow – Clio Tattoo Killbrow (Dark Brown); Highlighter – Anastasia Glow Dip Palette; Blush – Glossier Cloud Paint (Dusk); Eyeshadow – Juvias (Nubian Palette), Naked 1 Palette, Lorac Pro Palette; (Under) Eyeshadow – Hello Gorgeous; Lipstick – Colourpop Lippe Stix (Brink)

This next outfit was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers/vloggers, Claudia Sulewski! When I saw what she wore to Coachella Day 1, I told myself I had to include this look! It’s very edgy, boyish and most of all, it doesn’t look like a Coachella outfit at all WHICH MADE ME WANT TO DO IT MORE. Like I said, I love seeing fresh, unique, new outfits and this was it!!!

If I had to choose any one of these outfits to actually wear out, it would be this one. The “boyish” side just calls to me hahaha! For this look, I chose a simple black tank top (Cotton On) and army pants (Cotton On) plus I decided to pair it with sneakers (F21) so that this outfit screams more than just “military!!!” As for my makeup, I used gold, bronze and dark brown for the colors of my eyeshadow and kept it simple with a reddish-ginger shade for my lips c/o my Kylie Liquid Lipstick in shade Ginger. I went for the same hairstyle as Claudia but since my hair is really short, it kept falling and so it ended up looking messier than planned (but tbh I think it made the whole thing looks better)

I love how the whole thing turned out. It had just the right amount of feminine in this boyish look.

MISS (3)

This next outfit was pretty much inspired by Kendall Jenner (her outfit in 2014) and another favorite blogger of mine, Griffin Arnlund (her outfit this year). I decided to mix up the two because I liked how my nude crochet top (@holyswimph) looked with my harem pants (from Cambodia). Plus I really love Kendall and Griffin’s fashion style!!!

IMG_9109 2

For this look, I wanted to go for a “pretty pink look” BUT with rainbow cheeks which is why I used the Hello Gorgeous Rainbow Highlighter again this time around but for my cheeks. (I didn’t want to make it too dark though and so I kept it pretty subtle.) As for my eyes, I added a bit more rose gold to the crease to kind of get that rosy look. My lips on the other hand were Revlon (Crimson) x Colourpop Metallic Liquid Lipstick (Maneater) because I wanted them to shine. For this look, I decided to keep my hair down and add a simple flower crown for that “girly” feel.

All in all, I think I ended up with this forest nymph fairy look with a touch of boho which I was happy with. The pictures though are a bit blurry ๐Ÿ˜ฆ cause this was the last set we took and we were losing light and so this was the best we could do. Hope you still like them though!

Who doesn’t love Vanessa Hudgens? She is the QUEEN of Coachella. And so this post wouldn’t be complete without recreating one of her best looks! I decided to go with one of the looks she did back in Coachella 2014. I loved this look! It was everything: edgy, girly, boho, summery, floral, etc!!! I tried my best to recreate this look with, of course, my own twist and I *think* it ended up looking good!

IMG_9097 2

IMG_9100 2

My plan for this look was to channel my inner boho! I bought this dress before from Forever 21 but haven’t found the perfect time to use it UNTIL NOW. I also added a black lacey bra under for an extra “hmph” like what Vanessa did with her outfit! The boots are my mom’s (hahaha thanks mom) and as for the hat, I bought it from Cotton On! I chose “boho” accessories to use such as feathers (from Taiwan), chokers, colorful hoop earrings and those “circle shades”.

On the other hand, my makeup stayed pretty simple. All I did was darken my eyebrows a bit more and color my lips a darker shade of red (Revlon Crimson x MAC Paramount). I did this cause I wanted those features to pop. Just a note: when it comes to quick-changing makeup, best to focus on your lips and eyebrows. They only take a short time to fix PLUS they make a HUGE difference! As for my hair, I decided to keep it in a messy halfpony so that it wouldn’t be too “big” under the hat.

But wait! This Coachella post wouldn’t be complete without a look from Vanessa’s best friend, Ashley!!! Again, this is a totally different lookdenim on denim, baby!!! I love denim. It’s my go-to fashion piece when I’m in a hurry or can’t think of anything else to wear. When all else fails, go denim. ANYWAY, I thought this look was really cool and different from the rest which is why I chose to include it in this post.

For my outfit, I chose a black crop top (Cotton On) under to kind of cancel out all the denim. My denim jacket is from H&M while my BEAUTIFUL pants are from a thrift shop in the States. I’ve had these pants for years but I never wore them out and now I wonder WHYYYY??? because they are beautiful and the details are exquisite! Definitely wearing this out soon! Added a hat from Cotton On and wore high-heeled boots from Forever 21!

This is one of those looks whichย I spent a long while on hahaha for my makeup, I chose to keep my eyes dark with a bit of bronze for the under part.ย And if you noticed, I also added bronze dots above my eyebrow line. I would have wanted this to be jewel beads but I couldn’t find any ๐Ÿ˜ฆ and so that’s for another post, for sure!!! I used Juvia’s Nubian palette for this because it is SUPER pigmented!!! The color just sticks and so I had no problem making this look.

And omg is that a nose ring I see??? Hahaha dont worry mom, it’s fake hahaha I’m really into the nose ring look right now that I ordered a few from Armstrong and Smith! Their designs are really cute! You should check them out!!! My dream catcher necklace is actually from Boo! It’s from Taiwan! It’s a bit too big to wear to “normal” outings but I decided to wear it here cause it fit the occasion. AND who could miss my “eye” earring!!! Love this piece. It’s very edgy and unique and so I knew that it would go perfect with this outfit!

All in all, this was a super fun look to do! I enjoyed going out of my comfort zone and shooting this!!!

TADAAAAA so that’s what I’ve been working on for the past week!!! ๐Ÿ’— This has been such a fun blog post to shoot and prepare for! It’s way out of my comfort zone especially the fashion part because I have not yet posted a “fashion blog post” – I feel iffy about my style. But after writing that post about embracing and appreciating onself, I decided, what the hell, this is my way of expressing myself! And in the end, I’m proud of this. And I’m proud of myself.

Since I really enjoyed doing this post, stay tuned for way more makeup and fashion shoots coming your way!!! Glossier Love ๐Ÿ’•โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒธ

Hi guys! ๐ŸŒˆ

So I’m squeezing in this short review of the Glossier products I have right now cause people have been asking me about them and soooooo, here you go! โค๏ธ To those contemplating whether on spending on these Glossier products, I hope this helps you out! ๐Ÿ™‚

The current products I have right now are the Glossier Priming Moisturizer and two Cloud Paints: Haze & Dusk! I’m still waiting for my boy brow which I can’t wait to try!!!

Glossier Priming Moisturizer

Bottom line: I love this primer. It’s the best one for me so far! It’s not heavy at all and the best part is, it really moisturizes. I get really dry skin sometimes depending on the weather and so it’s great to have a primer that hydrates my skin.

I wasn’t able to take a picture (huhu) but so you guys know, it has quite a slippery texture – and it has a white color (kinda looks like Johnson’s baby lotion). It’s not super thick and so it’s easy to spread. I usually use a pea sized amount for my everyday makeup look but for days that require heavier makeup, I use a bit more!

What I also like about this priming moisturizer, is that it helps my makeup stay longer but doesn’t leave it looking “patchy”. It ends up giving me a dewy look which I super loveeeee. I just have to use blotting paper sometimes but it’s ok, I always have one in my bag anyway.

And so if you guys want a primer that isn’t too heavy, moisturizes your skin and that is good for everyday use, this could be it for you!

It’s $25, a bit pricey but I’d like to think it’s worth it!

Glossier Cloud Paint

I was never really into liquid blush but this here is definitely a game changer! I love the natural look and so you can just imagine how obsessed I got with this product. It gives off the PERFECT natural look! The paint isn’t too heavy or too light, it’s just right. Plus, I love the variety of colors they have! I only ordered 2 though but to be honest, because of how much I love them, I’m thinking of getting the other two aaaahhhhh ๐Ÿ™ˆ They’re $18 each and $30 of you buy 2!

Dusk is the perfect pinkish nude color. It’s very natural-looking and perfect for your everyday look. I like using peach blush as compared to pink blush and so when I saw this color, I knew I had to get it! It gives me that rosy look but not the pink kind of rosy look, the orange-ish kind, if you guys know what I mean. I like using this color with dark lipstick shades to contrast the light blush.

Here are some of the shots I took with Dusk so that you can see what it looks like on a human person hahaha (btw I’m using the priming moisturizer as my base)

As you can see, it gives me a bright “peachy” look and I like how it complements my red lips and dark brows. Can you guys see the swatch on my arm??? If you do, you’ll see how pink nude it is and how PRETTY it is โค๏ธ

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first to buy Haze. I was debating between getting either Haze or Puff! I was afraid that Haze would look to dark on me but I super loved the color and so I decided to buy it anyway and just figure it out later on. Luckily, it looks beautiful on light-skinned people too!!! It gives that flushed pink look that you usually get after a great workout which makes me feel really good hahaha I like pairing it up with nude lipsticks to kind of contrast the dark pink pigment on my cheeks.

It is not as subtle as Dusk but it’s still natural looking – just a bit more on the pink side. I don’t usually wear pink blush but I like how this looks on me. It’s not too pink, it’s just right. Just be careful though not to put too much! That actually goes for all the cloud paints! LESS IS MORE. Also, it’s a pretty tiny tube so I’m sure you guys would want to make it last!

(Please don’t mind my “not threaded” eyebrows and my eyebags and all the flaws hahaha it’s me trying to be confident in my own skin ๐Ÿ˜…)

I bought these on Makeup Depot! Check out their Instagram here! You can buy these products also on the Glossier site! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway that’s it for this review! I have yet to review my other glossier products and so stay tuned for that! Also, stay tuned for a very special post coming out next week ๐Ÿ’– Again, keep your messages and comments comin’!!!! I am reading every one of them โค๏ธ Happy Easter guys!!!! โ˜บ๏ธ

This Summer, Rock that Frizz! ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿป

Who here has had frizzy hair all their life? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ

Well, welcome to the club! I’ve had frizzy hair for as long as I can remember and since then, it’s been a roller coaster ride, going from one product to another, trying to tame my curls. But throughout the years, I realized, why tame them when you can embrace them? That’s right! Don’t go through the hassle of straightening your hair out every single morning with some hairspray or mousse. Instead, enhance your curls! Make them standout! Make them BONGGA!!!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Okay, I get that frizzy hair can be a hassle especially during summer time (I MEAN THIS HEAT IS KILLER)ย BUT that’s why, I’m here to share with you guys a few products that I’ve been using a lot, to help you rock your curls without having to worry about yourself looking like a caveman (hahahahaha it’s true doe)

Okay, so here are a few of my favoriteย products for all my “frizzy-friends” out there!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

1. LUSH R&B Hair Moisturizer

This is one of my favorites. Ever. First of all, it smells amazing!!! It smells refreshing and sweet but not too sweet if you know what I mean. This is actually my second tub! Yeah, I know, it’s a bit pricey (P975 from LUSH) but me getting another tub just proves that this stuff actually works! What this product does is that it moisturizes your hairย and scalp. The problem sometimes with frizzy hair is that it can get dry really easy and so it’s great to have something that can hydrate and quench your curls, especially during the excruciating heat of summertime!

What I like about this product is that even though it feels a bit thick, it’s not so heavy. It’s actually pretty light! (Just don’t use too much product! This goes for all the products I mention!) Sometimes, it may feel like you didn’t put enough even after your hair is already full of product. Just relax! It takes time for the products to take effect, you won’t see it right away especially if your hair is wet!

Also, one tub can last you a long time! And so it ends up becoming “sulit” for me. When I use R&B hair moisturizer, my hair is instantly moisturized. This doesn’t necessarily define my curls per say but it definitely prevents my hair from going back to its frizzy dry self.

2. Beach Born Sea Salt Spray

This is the most affordable sea salt spray I ever purchased! It’s only P180 from Beach Born PH. You can check out their Instagram here!ย What I like about this spray is that it makes me feel like I’ve just come from the beach, even though I’ve literally just come out of my shower. It has a very sea salty sweet smell which I personally like!

Some like applying this after curling their hair but personally, I like applying this right after I shower because it helps define my curls more as they dry without my hair becoming too frizzy! Caution though, don’t put too much, because it can cause your hair to become hard and sticky. And so just take it easy! Just spray your hair a few times and use your hands to crunch up your curls to help define them more! And I swear you’ll look good!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

3. 2 Chic Avocado and Olive Oil Anti-Frizz Serum Oil

This is a product I would recommend for those of you who have crazy frizzy hair. Like small curls kind of frizzy. Because this works to calm them down. To be honest, this is an okay product for me because I’m not too crazy about oil products – they just make my hair too oily and so I don’t like using them much. BUT this product can work if you have really dry hair since this product helps hydrate your frizzy hair to prevent it from becoming frizzy.

This product is from Healthy Options and so it’s a bit pricey. This isn’t a bad product but I don’t think I’ll repurchase, at least not for the price. It’s just not for me and my hair. But hey, if your hair is extra dry and you need some serum/oil to fix it up, this could be the one for you!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

4. Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Cream

This is my favorite among all these products. And this is the latest product I’ve tried. I actually bought this while I was in Guam. And I’ve been loving it ever since!!! It’s just perfect for my hair. The way I like my hair to be is not too frizzy but not too curly either. I like natural waves -and when I tried this product, I got just that. And the smell is so good!!!! It’s grape seed and jasmine extract!ย HEAVEN.

Anyway, I like putting this on right after I wash my hair cause that’s when it’s most effective. I only put a bit! Afterwards, I finger comb my hair and crunch my curls up to define them more. After my hair dries, it leaves no kind of residue. My hair isn’t sticky. My hair isn’t too oily. It’s just right. The only thing it leaves behind is a lovelyย scent! I recommend this product for those of you who want to enhance their curls but want a natural kind of look! I don’t know where you can buy this in the Philippines but I’ll let you guys know if I do! If you’re abroad and have the chance, go buy it! You’ll love it, I swear!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset
5. LUSH Sunny Day Anti Static Hair Detangler

I like this product because it really helps detangle my hair. I’m one of those girls that don’t brush their hair – because if I do, my hair will become really frizzy. And so I finger-comb it. This though results in many tangles and so it’s great for me to have a hair detangler on hand to help with that! And so far, this has been it for me!

It has a Jasmine Citrus-sy scent. It smell fresh which I like. After showering, I like to spray a bit on my hair before applying my hair defining cream! Don’t put too much though or else your hair will get hard and sticky! Just spray a few times and leave it at that! That’s when you finger-comb your hair. As long as you don’t use too much product at one time, it’ll work for you! Also, this product is a bit pricey, it costs P825 at LUSH BUT the bottle lasts for a while (if you use it properly) and so it ends up becoming worth it for me.

So there! Those are 5 products that I think can help you and your frizzy hair out this summer! Frizzy hair can be a hassle for some of you, but embrace it! Learn to love it! You are so lucky to have hair with such volume. You’d be surprised as to how many girls want that kind of hair. So many girls nowadays go through the hassle of curling their hair every single day. For us, all we need to do is put on a little product and BOOM beautiful voluminous hair! And so take care of your hair this summer, girls! Don’t ever ever take your beautiful hair for granted! Now, goย out in the sun & have some fun! ๐ŸŒž

Makeup Magic โœจ๐Ÿ’„

Hello again โค๏ธ

It’s been a while but my schedule is now finally free which means more blog posts coming up! I’m going back to my ย schedule of posting every Tuesday & Friday so stay tuned for my posts. Again, thank you to all of you guys who have been messaging me and commenting and liking my posts. I’m glad that I get to help you guys in the little ways I can ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a whole new post for me! And definitely out of my comfort zone (like AAAHHHHHH) I’m very used to putting makeup on myself and posting about it BUT it’s a whole different ball game when I put makeup on other people and post about it. I was very nervous about doing this but I have a very good support system (hi friends <3) and they encouraged me to go for it! Plus, my three amazing models really gave me that push and inspired me to go through with it (Hi Justine, Erika and Helene!).

These makeup looks were actually inspired by blueREP’s 25th anniversary concert that took place last Saturday! These looks represent different numbers from different Broadway shows that we performed. I told each of my models to pick one number and that I would come up with a makeup look for it.

This is what I came up with! Again, I am fairly new at this and so I may not know all the tricks and tips yet but I’m getting there. Practice makes perfect and so if you’re game to model for me and don’t mind me touching your face lol hit me up! ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way, these beautiful pictures were taken by my boyfriend, Boo Gabunada, who is an amazing photographer. We’re kinda trying out this MUA- Photographer tandem thing and I guess we’ll see where it goes hahaha

HOME – The Wiz (Justine Narciso)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Originally, for this number, we were told by our costume designer to wear pastel colors -pink, green, yellow, blue, purple but later on, they changed it BUT ANYWAY, this look was based on the first plan. For this makeup look, I wanted to incorporate a bunch of colors but I still wanted to keep it simple and elegant. For her lips, I chose purple lipstick cause what could be more pastel than purple lipstick??! For her eyes, I used shimmery pastel colors such as pink, purple, yellow and blue green and chose to focus all the color on the eyes. I like Justine’s eyes. I like how happy and full of life they look, especially when she smiles and so I was really happy that I got to do this look on her. To make this look a bit more striking, I decided to add a bit of “shiny thingys” which you see on the sides of her eyes. All in all, I think that Justine really pulled off this look: a look that’s bold but still simple and sweet.

WE DANCE – Once On This Island (Erika Rafael)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I was really excited to do this look because it is simply perfect for Erika. I planned for myย “Once On This Island” makeup look to be full of bright colors like purple, red and yellow. I wanted to give off that island tribe vibe and Erika’s look made the whole thing work out perfectly. Erika has beautiful brown skin which complemented the bold colors I used on her – I used red, purple and orange eyeshadow for her eyes and mixed in some yellow face paint to give it an accent. As for her lips, I wanted it to be really red but with a touch of gold (which you will see). I was going back and forth about the face paint but I decided to use it anyway and I’m glad I did. It gives off an ethnic tribe look which is what I was going for. With this look, she’s definitely ready to “dance to the earth and dance to the water”!

MAGIC TO DO – Pippin (Helene Enriquez)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Our take on this musical number is pretty dark – as our musical director, Ejay Yatco described it, “it’s candy with a poison”. In this number, Helene plays a dark magician and so for this look, I wanted it to be quite dark but still pretty playful. I decided to play with the colors, red, black and blue. They can be fun colors but they can also be very dark. Helene’s face is actually quite innocent and so I wanted this makeup look to “break” that. And I think it kinda did. For her eyes, I used mostly red and gray shades and then I spilled out a bit of blue onto her face for a magical effect. I also added some glitter for a “magic touch”. As you can see there are only parts of this look that are really dark such as her lips, lashes and brows. I did this because I wanted her look to be bold but still fun. I did the bottom lash look for an extra “creepy” effect and made her lips pure black with a dab of red – which I really LOVE. In the end, she no longer looked like the “sweet innocent” Helene but this dark magician kinda like a darker Zatanna (if you know her from D.C. hahaha) I mean look at that creepy smile!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHH Well, there you go โค๏ธ This actually happened ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m really happy I finally got the courage to try this out! I had so much fun doing it, especially because of the company! So shoutout to Justine, Erika and Helene for being such great and fun models and to Boo, for being an amazing photographer! Like I said, practice makes perfect and so I’m planning more shoots like this! And so if you guys are game to model for me, hit me up! It would mean a LOT โœจ
