The Body Shop Face Masks – Current faves ๐ŸŒธ

Hi. Hello.

Wow it’s been so long since I’ve written a blog post and I’m super sorry that it’s taken FOREVER. I’ve been busy with work, travel and MY NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL! Yes you heard that right. I am now vlogging!!!!! I’ve been wanting to do it for so long and I finally took the leap of faith and posted my first 3 vlogs!!!

If you wanna subscribe to my channel – click here! It would mean the world to meee ๐Ÿ’œ

Okay. So now that I started vlogging, I won’t be able to update my blog as much as I did before BUUUUUUT rest assured I will still be the same old leadiiinglady – meaning I’ll still post about skincare, makeup, fashion and other things. But instead of writing it, I’ll be talking about it.

ANYWAYYYY. Time to talk about my current skincare faves! And they are from The Body Shop.

When I first saw these face masks, I was kinda hesitant to buy them because of the price (1K+ for just ONE tub). Yeah, I know, super pricey. And so I decided to do my research first. Turns out, these masks were doing so well!!! And so when I went to the states, I decided to buy one on my very first day there – The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask.

1. Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I bought this one first for two reasons: one, because it’s their best seller and two, because I thought that among all these masks, this one suited mine the most. And I was right!!!!!!

This mask is perfect for my skin! Quick background – I’m combination but a bit more on the oily side and so my pores get clogged up all the time. And so I needed something that would really clean my pores and purify my skin. This mask aims to do just that. The Himalayan Charcoal works to unclog the pores and deep cleanse the skin to rid it of impurities. If you guys are familiar with skincare, you’d know that clay masks and charcoal masks are holy grails for those with acne and problematic skin – aka ME.

Aside from it cleansing my skin, this mask also exfoliates it! After applying the mask and leaving it on for 10 minutes, I would wash it off while rubbing it circles GENTLY on my skin. It would leave my face feeling clean and smooth. Just the way I like it!

For those of you with sensitive skin, just be careful! The mask may cause redness or a stinging sensation. If it does, maybe it’s just not for you ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2. Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

This is the second mask I got! The ingredient, rice, has always been good to my skin. I just love the feeling and the brightness it gives me. Which is why after enjoying the first mask so much, I had to buy this next! Tbh though, before getting this, I haven’t used the ingredient Ginseng as much but I heard it’s very good for brightening your complexion and caring for dark spots which is why I thought… WHY NOT?!

I LOVE THIS MASK. My only regret is not buying this sooner!!! One, it smells good!!! I love the smell – it’s as if I were getting a legit facial in a spa or something. Two, it feels good!!! When I put it on my skin, it doesnt sting or feel weird. Three, it leaves me looking brighter than ever! Like I said, rice has never let me down BUT RICE with GINSENG??? DAMN. What a great combo <333

I will be using this mask every week for sure!!!

3. Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask

Okay. So this isn’t in the exact same category as the first two. It’s not a wash-off mask. It’s a leave-on mask that you put on before going to bed. But I’m adding it here because it’s another one of my faves.

Tea tree oil has always helped me, whether it be in the form of a cleanser, toner or oil. And so when I saw this mask, I had to take a chance and buy it. I tried it that night and I was not disappointed. Tea tree is great for those of you with troubled skin because it helps clear the imperfections as well as get rid of bacteria and soothe your skin.

When I used this, I woke up to skin that wasn’t red at all. Usually my skin gets red but the redness wasn’t there. My skin didn’t feel irritated or look too oily. In fact, my skin looked good. And so if you have problematic skin like me and you’re looking for a night mask, this could be the one for you! I really salute The Body Shop for their Tea Tree line because everything is just amazing – from their masks down to their tiny Tea Tree Oil bottles. And so go go go guys!

***

I know this was a short review but I hope this helped you guys out!!! If you guys are thinking about buying these masks, go for it! Remember, you don’t need to buy them all at once. Buy one first and take your time. Don’t forget to do a patch test just in case!

I’ll be updating my blog again soon with more makeup shoots and so stay tuned for that! ๐Ÿ’œ

Let’s talk about Clay Masks.

Hi guys! I’m baaack! And as you can see, leadiiinglady has got a new look ๐Ÿ˜‰

My blog is now almost 7 months old and so I’ve decided to upgrade to a more sophisticated theme. At first this was more of a hobby but I’ve been enjoying it so much that I think I’m now ready to take it to the next level! I’ve started a few collaborations and so watch out for that. Plus, I’m open to more opportunities and so feel free to send me an email or a dm on Instagram!

Anyway, back to my blog post!

Let’s talk about clay masks.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with clay masks. The thing is, it’s really hard to find a good clay mask for sensitive. Most clay masks tend to be very drying and tightening. Aside from that, a lot of them make the skin red and stingy. I personally have sensitive skin and so I really had to find the right one for me.

LUCKILY, I didn’t find just one but TWO perfect clay masks for me and my skin and I’m here to share them with you!

NeoGen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

One of my fave masks of all time!!! But tbh, it’s not a leave-on mask. What makes this mask so great is how gentle and effective it is for me. It does not sting whatsoever and it makes my face feel squeaky clean. Like I said, you don’t leave it on your face. You apply it with your fingers and rub it all around in a circular motion. When you first apply it, the mask will bubble (you will look like a cloud hahaha) – after about 5 minutes of spreading it all around, it’ll eventually flatten and that’s the time you wash it off.

The consistency is really bubbly and light (as you can see above) and so it can get a bit messy especially when applied but otherwise, it does what it’s supposed to. After using it, it’s the best feeling in the world! My face feels so fresh and clean – plus my pores appear much smaller and cleaner. It was love at first sight with this mask. I saw it and I just had to buy it after reading so many great reviews! And I am definitely not disappointed ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought this from BeautyMNL!

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Clay Mask

I’ve only used this twice but I am already in love with this product! I’ve always felt iffy about leave on clay masks because they really tend to dry my skin out but I got lucky with this one!

I’ve been looking at this line from the Body Shop because of all the natural ingredients used. I decided to buy this one because it’s used to mainly purify and that’s what I needed. I was really tempted to buy the other ones too cause they look so pretty but ugh this mask is pretty pricey ($28).

Anyway, I love the ingredients used especially Charcoal and Tea Tree! Charcoal takes off the excess sebum and cleans the pores while Tea Tree helps get rid of bacteria and purifies.

At first I was worried about the smell because of my sensitive skin. The smell is very strong and minty and so I was afraid I was going to breakout but guess what??? My skin didnt have any bad reaction whatsoever. In fact, my skin wasn’t even red once I washed the mask off! It was LESS red and that barely ever happens. Which means that this mask really cleaned and calmed my skin down.

Just a note! When you use the mask, you’ll experience a bit of a cool tightening feeling but that is completely normal! Don’t forget I have sensitive skin and this mask worked for me! And so I’m pretty sure it’ll work for you too! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Since this was such a success, I’m already looking forward to buying more masks from the same line!!!

I got this from The Body Shop for $28!

That’s it for my clay mask post!!! Stay tuned for a makeup post coming soon ๐Ÿ’œ

May Loves: Skincare ๐ŸŒธ

Hi guys! Leadiiinglady here! And I’m back with another skincare post!!! ๐Ÿ’œ

Since May has ended, it’s time to look back at what a wonderful month it has been and what better way to do that than review some of my favorite skincare products for the month ๐ŸŒธ

Last May, I really wanted to focus on two things: cleaning + tightening my pores and healing my dark spots. And so most of the products I have on this list are designed to do exactly that!

1. NeoGen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This cleanser is LOVE. No joke! It makes my skin feel so loved because of how clean and refreshed it makes me feel! I bought this cleanser because I really wanted a clay mask that would really clean my pores. I get a lot of comedonal acne and so I really like making sure my skin is super clean or else the oil/dirt would cause more acne.

The problem though with clay cleansers is that they can get a bit messy and may irritate your skin but with this cleanser, I experienced neither. It was really easy to put on, it didn’t drip anywhere – all you have to do is spread it all over your face and massage it in until the bubbles go away. I usually leave it on for five minutes before rinsing it with lukewarm water. After I use it, I do feel a bit of tightness but not the dry kind – my skin still feels plump and hydrated. Plus, my pores appear just a bit smaller (not a drastic change) but definitely smaller!

I love this cleanser! I use it once or twice a week depending on how my skin feels!

I bought this from BeautyMNL!

2. V&M Naturals Clear Y Rosy Scrub

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been looking for a good facial scrub for a while now but I haven’t found any and then this came along. It’s P850 for 250g! It seems pretty pricey but trust me, it’s a lot of product.

What I noticed first about this product was the smell. It has a light sweet smell. It’s not too much – it’s just right. The consistency is a bit thick and so when you take it out of the tub, it won’t easily drip and so it’s not messy. I ended up using only a little bit of product because the little bit that I got already covered my whole face!

I really like this product for two reasons: one, it’s a good scrub – meaning it was able to get rid of my dry skin and dirt & two, it does NOT strip my skin of its natural oils! I was so worried that after using this scrub my skin would feel icky and dry it was the exact opposite! My skin felt plump and more moisturized! I know, crazy!!! But I swear, my skin felt soft and smooth!

I got this from BeautyMNL!

3. It’s SKIN LI Effector

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Licorice is ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป It is great for two things: skin lightening & balancing oils! Which is why when I tried it, it worked perfectly! At first I was afraid (I was petrified….. jk HAHAHAHA) that Licorice wouldn’t work for my skin because like other ingredients, some aren’t for everyone. But lo and behold, I didn’t have a bad reaction! Instead, my skin appeared less red and less oily!!!

This product comes in a small blue bottle. The product itself though is yellow and the consistency is a bit watery but easily absorbed! Also, it has a sweet smell but it quickly disappears after it’s been applied!

I love this! I apply it every morning and evening and so far my skin has been loving it too! Make sure though to test it before you apply it to your whole face to make sure that your skin doesn’t react badly towards it!

I got this from Althea Korea!

4. dear klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been a fan of dear klairs ever since I first used their Vitamin C drop! (still love it btw) Anyway, after seeing the effects of Centella Asiatica on my acne scars, I decided to get this! This small tub has that ingredient as one of its mains. And it’s supposed to help the dry patches heal as well as provide them with extra moisture.

This does exactly that! Lately I’ve been getting pimples cause of my hormones (UGH) and so I’ve been applying medicine and when I apply medicine, it leaves the skin dry and irritated. And so when I got this, I applied it on those areas during my night time routine. Then when I woke up this morning, they weren’t so red anymore! Plus the skin was smooth! Definitely a game changer!!!

I bought this from Althea Korea!

5. Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This is a really strong cleanser but it gets the job done!!! This really exfoliates my skin and gives it a nice fresh glow! Like I said though it’s really strong which is why I only use it once or twice a week.

If you have super sensitive skin, I would ask you to rethink this cleanser because it may cause your skin to get irritated or cause it to peel since it’s super acidic but otherwise, it really helps get rid of the bacteria and dirt on my face especially after a long week. Just make sure that you moisturize afterwards so that your skin doesn’t get too dry!

I bought this from Sephora PH!

6. Hello Gorgeous PH Ultra Pure Serum

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

One of my faves from Hello Gorgeous PH! Tea Tree + Niacinamide is loveeee! What I love most about this product is how affordable yet effective it is! This costs less than 500 pesos but gets the job done as if it cost even more!

I love using this when my skin is feeling a bit irritated and troubled because this product calms it down in just a few hours. It’s consistency is a bit watery and so it’s easy to spread around as well as absorb into the skin!

If I were you, I would splurge on these Hello Gorgeous PH serums! They are affordable, effective and CUTE (I mean look at that packaging?!?)

Got this from Hello Gorgeous PH! Check out their instagram!

7. Caolion Pore Ritual Masks

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

First of all, look at that cute packaging! It’s kind of like a two in one thing and so I had to buy it!!! Plus the great reviews helped too!

These masks are specifically designed for the pores! The Pore Tightening Bounce Cream glows, cools and hydrates. So this is a cream you would usually use before you start your day while the Pore Tightening Memory Sleeping Mask glows, lifts and hydrates – something you could use at the end of your evening routine.

So far, these masks have been gold for me. The first mask really plumps my skin up and makes me look super fresh! I usually use it before I go out so that I look way more alive (my eyebags kill meeee) and it WORKS. Plus it keeps my skin tight! The other mask, I use it during my night time routine as the last step – this mask helps tighten my pores over night as well as keeps my skin hydrated.

As for the smell, they both smell divine and the consistency wasn’t sticky at all and so these was a joy to try out. They are slowly finding a permanent spot in my skincare routine!!!

***

Well, that’s it for my May loves: Skincare! Hope you guys learned a thing or two โค๏ธ

HEADS UP!

So I recently went to Aivee Clinic because I wanted to address a few concerns. My friend recommended it! And all I can say is WOW. The clinic is beautiful and everything they offer looks amazing! Anyways, in a few days I’m going to start a treatment for my problems with blemishes and acne scars and because of this I won’t be able to write new reviews for skincare products any time soon ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I may have to stop buying for a while. This treatment will make my skin super sensitive and so the doctor said it’s best if I give my skin a break from trying all these products. BUT I’ll still post about the skincare products I can post about! Just don’t expect me to write about them as much as I used to.

Because of this, I’ll be focusing more on makeup and fashion! I promise you guys that the content will still be just as good! And even better โ˜บ๏ธ

Thank you for all your love & support! ๐ŸŒธ

Anti Haul Post #1 โœจ๐ŸŒธ

Welcome to my first post of this series: Anti Haul ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

Okay. So you guys might be wondering… what kind of post is this?? Why is it called an “anti haul post”?? Is that even a thing??

Well, yes. Yes it is.

I recently got this brilliant idea from one of the skincare bloggers I follow – sharmtoaster! Check her out on Instagram! Apparently, she got this idea from another blogger, Kimberly Clark!

So what is an “anti haul” post? It’s pretty much the opposite of a haul post. I’m going to be sharing with you guys a few things that I have been tempted to buy BUT choose NOT TO BUY because I DON’T NEED THEM. I’m sure a lot of you skincare and makeup addicts out there can relate to me when I say that the TEMPTATION IS REAL. And so this post is here to remind me that there are some things I may want but ultimately don’t need.

I think this is a BRILLIANT idea. Whenever I get tempted to buy some of these products, I will look back at this post and say NO. Because I am a strong woman (HAHAHAHUHU)

Okay, here we go. Time to face the truth.

1. Sunday Riley Luna/UFO Oil

I’ve been wanting to try this brand for the longest time especially their Luna and UFO oil. I’ve heard good reviews about this product, some calling it their “holy grail” BUT I’ve also been hearing reviews saying that it’s not so great for sensitive skin. And so right now I’m pretty much 50-50 when it comes to buying this product. But I think I’ll just let it go, for real now.ย

The thing is, it’s a huge risk to take especially if you have sensitive skin to get a product with alarming ingredients (I read about it in some reviews) EVEN THOUGH there are some promising words on this product. It’s just not worth all the $$$. I really thought about it. If you’re gonna buy this product for so much money and then let’s say after one try, it irritates your skin – it’ll be such a waste. And such a hassle to return or re-sell.

And the thing is, right now, I DONT NEED it. I’ve got my Herbivore Lapis oil and it has been doing wonders for my skin and so why would I need to try something new that has a good chance of being both wonderful or terrible for my skin. You get me?

2. Kim x Kylie Lip Set

Omg. I’ve had my eyes set on this for a while. But nope, I’ve decided not to get it. Why? Because I have a lot of lipsticks that I hardly use to begin with plus adding 4 more to my collection would just make my dresser messier.

I guess what makes this decision hard is that I’m a nude girl. I know that sounds wrong. But I am. Nude is my go-to shade and so when I saw this set – I immediately wanted it! I’ve been researching on it, reading reviews about it. But I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a set I really need.

First of all, the colors look so similar. What’s the diff? Why would I buy a set of four lipsticks and pretty much have only one color? Right? Also, some colors won’t really make a difference when it comes to my skin color. They’ll just all look the same. And so what’s the point?ย

Sure, they’re a collab with Kim and they look pretty and all. But ask yourself… do you really need them? Or can you get it somewhere else or do you already even have those nudes in your pile somewhere? Think about it.

3. Glossier Invisible Shield

Okay, this has just come out. But even before then, I was already thinking of buying it. I’ve recently gotten into glossier and I’ve been loving the brand and so when they said that they were coming out with an SPF, I said I needed to buy it. I wear SPF everyday. It’s crucial in my everyday routine and so it WAS pretty much a given that no matter the price, I would buy it.

Mmmmmm how about no. It’s just too expensive for a sunscreen. TOO EXPENSIVE. I get that it’s glossier but you can get better SPF somewhere else. I’ve even read reviews that it’s pretty underwhelming and that for me was a major turn off.

I just decided to finish off the SPF I have now which is COSRX and Missha – they are great and AFFORDABLE. And so why do I need to buy the glossier SPF? I don’t. And so I won’t.

4. Milk Matcha Toner

I’ve recently ordered the Milk cooling water and I’m excited to use it – I’ve heard great review about it and I think it’ll really be a great addition to my makeup routine. While ordering the cooling water, I was actually tempted to buy the matcha toner too.

The color is really pretty!!!!! (I’m weak when it comes to pretty colors ugh) And I’ve always wanted to try a stick toner!!! I know that people have said that it’s a bit unsanitary cause it’s a stick – but on the contrary I’ve heard great reviews about it.

Ultimately though, I chose not to buy it. First of all, the price is way above budget and two, I don’t need it. I already have a good toner that works for me. Sometimes, less is more. If you use too many different toners, it might end up making your skin look worse.

I chose to take it easy and just focus on what I have now. And so far, so good.

5. Any Colourpop product

There was a time before when Colourpop first got popular and I bought 10 liquid lipsticks at one time. And guess what? Now, I barely use them. I definitely learned then and I’m definitely going to apply it now.

So far, Colourpop has been coming out with a lot of new things that I’ve wanted – like the whole Alexis Ren line. When it came out, I had my cart ready but I thought about it again and chose to delay it a bit. But now, I realized that it’s better to let it go for good.

They’re pretty and tempting but thinking about it now – they’ll end up like the 10 lipsticks I barely use.

What makes it hard is that they always come up with new things that are just so cute!!!!! You’ll want to buy them because you think you need them but really, you don’t. Highlighters? Lipsticks? Eye shadows? You have that. Like I should tell myself sometimes, “look before you buy”. Meaning look at what you have BEFORE you buy!

6. Shangpree Marine Under Eye patches

I love under eye patches. Loveeeee under eye masks!!! They’re so fun to wear hahaha but aside from that, they really help the part under my eyes. I usually have huge eye bags, plus dry and dark under eyes. So it’s great that they now have eyes masks that I can use everyday!

There’s this one in particular that I’ve been wanting to buy – the one from Peach and Lily. There are these green eye patches that I’ve been eyeing. I think there are about 30-40 pairs? And I’ve heard such great things about them!!!!ย

But I must say no because I already have a few packs of eye masks to begin with ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I confess that I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to face masks and eye masks and so it’s a bit easier for me to say no this time around.

7. Jelly Lipsticks with Flowers

Okay so this is a bit petty but I’ve been wanting one for the longest time – they’re just so cut and pretty!!! The packaging kills me hahahaha I’ve been tempted to buy them more than once but I’ve chosen not to. I’ve tried to buy one from HelloGorgeous, Instagram shops and BeautyMNL but each time I’ve left my cart hanging. Cause at the end of the day, it’s not too different from any other lipstick.ย

It’s just a flower in a lipstick that leaves a pretty pink color. I have to keep telling myself that over and over again. They may say it “changes” according to your mood but that doesn’t really happen. Almost every shade is the same and it pretty much depends who wears it – that’s it.

And so no, super cute jelly lipsticks!!!! I will not give in to you!!!!

8. HUDA Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been trying to find a palette with warm tones as well as glittery ones and when I saw this palette I thought it was perfect! But then I saw the price and it wasn’t perfect hahaha it ย as a bit too expensive for me ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Tbh I really spend on palettes because they’re not cheap to begin with but I’m not completely sold on this palette to spend this X amount of money on it. I mean, the colors are sooooo pretty and sooooo pigmented!!! But I’m sure I can find a (bit) cheaper alternative somewhere else.ย

The colors are similar to a lot of palettes such as Sleek and Zoeva. And so I think it won’t be hard to find an alternative. Personally, I’ve been looking at the Anastasia modern renaissance palette (it’s a bit cheaper) and so far I think I’m going to buy that one when I go to the states. (Yup, I’ll be leaving soon and I can’t contain my excitement and so I gotta save while I can HAHAHAHA)

***

That’s the end of my anti haul post!!! That was actually a bit fun to write, I’ll admit. I promise myself I won’t buy any of the products listed down here! (I’ll only buy them if I run out or something but tbh that isn’t anytime soon!!!!) I guess what’s left is to stay strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

I hope you enjoyed this post! It’s a bit different from my other posts but again, I think the idea is brilliant!! Maybe you guys should try it out! ๐Ÿ˜‰ What products would you add to your “anti haul” list? ๐Ÿ™‚ let me know in the comments section!

It’s a “Worry-Free” Summer for You! ๐ŸŒž

I, for one, love summer. I love going to the beach with my friends, having cook-outs with my family and pretty much lazing around under the sun.

BUT

There are times when it can turn out to be a complete disaster.

It can become such a hassle when your skin starts reacting negatively to all your summer activities. Oily skin? Irritated skin? Burnt skin? Ugh what a buzzkill.

But good thing I have some products to help keep my summer worry-free! And guess what? I got you covered! ๐Ÿ˜‰

All you need is some faith, trust….. and well, a few products ๐Ÿ˜…

 1. Whamisa Organic Flowers/Apple Sebum Treatment

Among all of the products here, this is the newest one in my skincare routine but tbh, it found its place really quick. That’s how amazing it is!

This is a lotion that helps control the amount of sebum/oil on your face. All the ingredients are organic and thus this product seems to be suitable for sensitive skin (like mine). I have been using this for more than a few weeks now and I have been LOVING it so far!!!

The way I use it in my skincare routine is that I put it on after my essence because it can actually work as a light moisturizer (if you’re the dry type though, I’m not sure if it would be enough for you). I don’t spread it all over my face. I only spread it on my t-zone (cause I have combination skin).

So far, since I’ve been using it, I’ve had no breakouts whatsoever and my skin has been less oily than usual, especially on my t-zone!!! I used to use blotting papers after roughly an hour but now I have to blot maybe after three hours. (Yes I still have to blot BUT THAT’S NORMAL).

If the summer heat is making you oily like crazy, try this product out! You can buy it online from Althea Korea for P760!

2. Herbivore Lapis Balancing Facial Oil

Let’s talk about Facial oils. Yes I know, the topic sounds pretty scary especially for those with oily skin BUT do you know that it can actually make your skin even better WITHOUT making it super oily??? YES IT’S POSSIBLE.

Adding oil to your skin can actually stop the overproduction of your skins natural oil and help balance it out. THUS making your skin even better!

I recently just started using the Herbivore Lapis Oil and I’ve been seeing the difference already. I chose this because it’s especially formulated for combination/oily skin. The Blue Tansy in the formula helps by reducing redness and clarifying the complexion which is what I specifically need.

I’ve had a breakout recently because of “product x” (BLEH) and so I treated it with the oil and I was so amazed that the redness and irritation toned down by the time I woke up the next morning.

This summer, I say you switch to a facial oil (especially in this crazy heat!!!!). You will not regret it FOR SURE. There are so many different brands like Herbivore, Sunday Riley, Kypris and Drunk Elephant!!!

I bought this from Sephora Philippines for P1,316! I might buy the bigger one soon though so aaaahhh ๐Ÿ™ˆ

3. Missha All Around Safe Block Satin Finish

I finally ran out of my Cosrx Aloe Sunblock and so I decided to try out another brand and I heard Missha’s sunblocks are really good and so I decided to buy one! I chose the satin finish cause I thought that was best for my combination skin.

So far, I’ve been really liking this sun cream. It doesn’t give me a heavy feeling at all plus there’s no greasy after feeling which I hate!!!

What I love about this cream is that it has a faint smell and it has a strong SPF of 50!!! I started using sunblock everyday late last year and it’s been an important product in my routine! I cannot leave the house without it! And so I’m really glad I found this product.

With this sunblock, I can have fun under the sun, worry-free! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought my safe block from @thebbcreamshopph for P650!

4. Happy Skin Matte of My Dreams Oil Control Mattifying Powder

I’ve been looking for a powder which could help with my sebum control and when I heard people raving about this, I just had to try it!

It’s more of like pressed powder than loose powder and it comes in a translucent white shade so that it can work for anyone!

When I first tried this, I was kind of nervous that it wouldn’t work for me (cause I get oily like crazy) and I didn’t want my ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ to go to waste. BUT luckily, it did just the job!!!

I used to have to blot 1 hour after putting on makeup but after using this powder, I only needed to blot THREE HOURS after which made a REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE. For us oily girls, we will always have to have blotting paper in our makeup bag BUT with this product, we won’t have to worry about buying as many packs as we usually do.

Happy Skin has never let me down and with this new product in the mix, working wonders for my skin, I am tempted to buy even more products!!!! Maybe that Matte Primer might do me good…. ๐Ÿ˜

I bought my Mattifying Powder in the Happy Skin branch in Alabang for P1,299! (A bit pricey but definitely worth it!)

5. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

Facial sprays are a must in my skincare routine. I was actually going back and forth about buying either this one, the Herbivore one or the Glossier one. But I settled for this one because of the (gentle) ingredients as well as the amazing reviews online.

I was actually pretty lucky because I got to try the travel size one for free since I got it (for free) after buying a bunch of Mario Badescu products.

Update on that travel size spray bottle… it is EMPTY. I have used it all up and wow do I love it. I usually use it after I put on my makeup as a setting spray (but not really). It IS NOT a setting spray and so it will not set your makeup/make your makeup last longer. But I use it as such because it gives me a dewy like look after a few sprays. I’m all for the dewy (NOT OILY) look over the matte look. It just looks way more natural.

Anyway, after using it, it gives me such a refreshing feeling. Which is why I also use it during the day when I’m feeling tired or hot hahaha (I filled up my travel sized bottle cause I bought a normal-sized one).

The rosewater and aloe in the formula leaves my face feeling calm and refreshed. Definitely a need this summer ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bought mine in Rustans for P655 (which is actually pretty good!!!) They sell a lot of Mario Badescu products!

6. LUSH Sunny Day Anti Static Hair Detangler

I’ve had this product for a while and it’s been really helping with my frizzy hair. BUT I also found that it helps when my hair is super dry!!! My hair usually gets super dry during the summer because of the heat and so I wanted to find a product that would help leave it hydrated and feeling fresh.

Little did I know that I already had a product that would work for me. Let me make it clear, there’s a difference between oily hair and hydrated hair. Sometimes the heat can leave your hair dry or oily and it is important to NOT USE products that overproduce the amount of oil in your hair.

This product keeps my hair hydrated without making it look oily. In the end, my hair feels soft and “not tangled”. Which is the best feeling in the world especially for frizzy-haired girls like me.

So if you need something for your frizzy/dry/oily hair this summer, go to LUSH and try this out!!!

I bought mine in LUSH for P825!

Night Time Routine Must-Haves! ๐ŸŒ™

Of course my blog wouldn’t be the same without reviews of some of my current favorite skincare products. I mean, that’s the whole reason why I came up with this blog in the first place! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I know it’s been a while but here I am with a review (FINALLY) of some of theย productsย I’ve been using for my evening skincare routine!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

If you guys have noticed, the weather has been crazy these past few days! There are times when it’s too hot or when it’s too cold – it’s just been very “on & off” lately and so I’ve been adjusting my skincare routine A LOT to compensate for this crazy weather!!! BUT I’ve finally come up with a SOLID skincare routine that’s been going great so far and so I want to share with you guys some of the products that make it awesome!

For this blog post, I will be reviewing the STARS of my night time skincare routine!!! โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

1. Heimish Cleansing Balm

I recently raved about this product in my previous blog post but I feel like I haven’t raved about it enough. This is one of my holy grail products! LIKE SERIOUSLY.

I’ve been getting really oily during the day time (cause of the weather) and it’s been making me feel absolutely icky and dirty – I just don’t like the feeling of having too much oil on my face. BUT this cleanser gets rid of all my worriesย because once I use it, my face feels squeaky clean AND hydrated at the same time.

Just a note though – it’s consistency is a bit more watery compared to that of Clean it Zero and so it may be a bit messier and may be a hassle for you guys but I personally like it because it makes it easier to lather all over my face!

To be honest, instead of repurchasing my nth (I’ve lost count) tub of Banila Co, I think I’ll be buying another tub of Heimish Cleansing Balm!!! It’s THAT good!

I bought this from the Skin Curator!!! Check out their instagram here!

2. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner

After using the AHA/BHA Cosrx Clarifying Toner, I wanted a change. Not because the product was bad but because I believed that there was a better toner out there for me. And wow was I right!!!

The DearKlairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is gentle yet effective! I love how it’s filled with natural ingredients instead of chemical ones. I especially love that it contains Centella Asiatica! I have just made a discovery that Centella Asiatica works wonders for my skin!!! It calms down my irritated skin especially when I’m beginning to get bad breakouts. Tbh, I consider it a good thing and bad thing that I discovered this because now I am hooked on buying all kinds of products with this ingredient ๐Ÿ˜…

((I ACTUALLY just bought the DearKlairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream and so stay tuned for a review very soon!!!ย ๐Ÿ˜‰))

Anyway, this toner has been doing wonders for my skin! My skin doesn’t get all red like it used to and instead appears to be more calm! Plus my dry patches seem to be healing faster. I personally recommend this toner for those of you who have super sensitive skin (just like me) cause this definitely helps with that! Swear!

I bought this from Dara Beauty Market on Instagram! You can buy other Korean Beauty Products from there! Check it out!!!

3. Kiehl’s Breakout Control Blemish Treatment Facial Lotion

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I’ve been looking for a product toย help prevent breakouts BUT is safe to use everyday. Strong products like that nowadays tend to dry your skin, just like my Benzoyl Peroxide Cream that I still use BUT ONLY for trouble spots and not for everyday use!

At this time, I was looking around Kiehl’s andย I saw this – it had me at “BREAKOUT CONTROL”! After reading about it, I was convincedย to buy it right away BUT I wasn’t 100% sure if it would work for me and so I settled for 3 samples. And guess what? I used them all up AND LOVED IT. That’s when I said – “I need to buy the full-sized product!!!!!”

This lotion has definitely beenย keeping my bad breakouts at bay! Yeah, I did get the occasional zit here and there but not as bad as before. And you know what makes this product even better??? IT DOES NOT DRY UP MY SKIN. It doesn’t!!! (Maybe it’s cause I have oily skin but the thing is I do get dry patches and so the fact that I can use this without my skin drying up says something.)

ALSO, this lotion is very thin – I only use a pea-sized amount and after I apply it, my face doesn’t feel greasy. As a matter a fact, when I use it, it doesn’t feel like I’ve applied anything!

One iffy thing I would say though about this product is that it has a strong smell. It’s kinda like a strong herbal smell and so I’m not sure if some of you will like it but personally, I don’t mind it at all because it doesn’t linger.

I would recommend this product for those of you who have oily/combination skin. Not sure about those of you with dry skin cause daily use might not work for you!ย Use with caution ๐Ÿ™‚

4. Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I know, I know. I have a lot of moisturizers. But the thing is, I use them on different days. They’re the easiest to switch around! And I switch them around depending on the condition of my skin or the weather! The weather plays a big part when it comes to skincare. Some days, the heat makes us oily, on other days, the cold makes our skin dry. That’s why I’m always prepared for anything! Rain or shine, my moisturizers got me covered!

Recently though, I’ve been having problems with my combination skin. My t-zone would be oily BUT I would have dry patches on other parts of my face which really annoyed me. And the moisturizer I was using at that time made my t-zone oilier and made my dry patches more apparent!!!!! Talk about double blehhh. And so I needed to find a cream that would not “overmoisturize” my t-zone but at the same time hydrate my dry patches. And so I researched again and I found this wonderful product!!!!

This cream does exactly what I need it to do. It leaves my look NOT TO dewy and at the same time, it fixed my dry patches!!!! Plus this is another product that works toย calm down my skin. After putting it on, I don’t feel greasy or heavy, I feel light and hydrated. My skin feels plump and looks just the right amount of dewy which is THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD.

For all you oily people with the same problem as me, this might be the cream for you! Warning: it’s pricey and the smell is strong BUT for me, the results it gives makes it all worth it!

I got this from BeautyMNL! Check it out here! Love love โค

March Skincare Haul ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi guys! So I’m finally posting about my skincare haul โค๏ธ Lately, I have researchingย & researching on so many products! And because of that – I ended up buying a lot ๐Ÿ˜… I know, I know. It’s a bit overwhelming but hey, it’s the one thing I like to splurge on (aside from make-up ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you guys because a lot of these things I bought are on a lot of bloggers’ top ten lists!!! Idk, maybe you guys are thinking ofย buying them or maybe you guys want to try a few of these out. And so for this blog post, I am going to be writing about my first impressions of each product as well as how they’ve been performing so far. This is not an extensive review though since I have only been using these products for a while BUT as soon as I feel that I’ve been using these products enough, I’ll let you know what I REALLY think!

1. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Toner

So I ran out of my COSRXย AHA BHA Clarifying Toner and needed a replacement. I wanted to try something new and so I researched for a good one and I stumbled upon this. I read that this toner is very good for sensitive skin because it cleanses and soothes. At first when I tried it, I noticed that it had a strong herbal smell. It’s not “bad” but it’s a bit strong, I’m guessing it’s because it contains a lot of Centella Asiatica which is actually VERY GOOD for healing fresh acne scars and calming down irritated skin. That’s actually one of the biggest reasons why I decided to buy it. I have some fresh scars and irritated skin and I’ve been looking for a tonerย that could calm it down – not just vitamin c since Vitamin c focuses more on lightening dark spots and not necessarily healing those irritated dry patches. Anyway, so far, this toner has been nothing less but amazing. My skin already feels super smooth. I’ve noticed that my fresh acne scars have calmed down and they’re no longer dry and irritated. I like this toner because I saw changes right away in how my skin felt and how less red it was (cause sometimes I get really red). If you’re looking for a toner for your sensitive skin, this could be it for you!
I bought this in Dara Beauty Market (@darabeautymarket) on Instagram! They sell a lot of Korean beauty products as well as other brands!

2. Heimish All Clean Balm

I know what you’re thinking… “I thought Clean it Zero was her holy grail balm cleanser!!?!” Well, I *think* I may have found something better. This is the Heimish All Clean Balm. This was actually recommended to me by my friend, Raya, who commented on my previous post about my skincare routine. This has been getting a bit of hype recently and so I had to try it because people were comparing it to Clean it Zero which is my absolute LOVE. I decided to… scout the competition… hehe. Plus look at the packaging!!!! It’s just so cute!!! So yeah. It’s around the same price as Banila Clean it Zero, if not a little cheaper. Compared to Clean it Zero, it is much more liquid. When I opened it, it looked like thick white goo. And it kinda gave me more of a herbal smell than a fruity smell like the one I get from Banila. But when I tried it. Omg, it was heaven. It just felt so good on my skin! And guess what?! It was able to take off my waterproof mascara way better than Clean it Zero ever could. And what I really like about it is that it’s much more foamy than oily. When I use Banila, right before I wash, my skin looksย super oily cause of the cleanser but when I use this All Clean Balm, it looks more foamy and so I don’t get that icky oily feeling at all. So far, this cleanser has been doing wonders for me! I’m going to finish my Clean it Zero first though since I’m running out anyway and who knows, I might just get another tub of Heimish All Clean Balm!
I got this from The Skin Curator! She sells a lot of COSrx products also!

3. Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about this little jar of cream moisturizer. One of the bloggers I follow (one of my favorites and the reason I bought this cream), Snow White & The Asian Pear actually wrote a blog post on this product and that pretty much convinced me that YES I AM GOING TO BUY THIS. At first I thought it was a bigger jar cause it looked big, but when I got it, it was pretty tiny hahaha for a price of P1000+ so yeah pretty pricey BUT definitely worth it. It contains beneficial ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Ceramides. And so it’s very good for whitening, elasticity, anti-aging, moisturizing and hydrating! Yep, that’s all in this little jar. So far, this is the only moisturizer I’ve been using morning and night and my skin loves it! After putting it on, my face feels so soft and plump! It hydrates my skin without making it too oily or shiny. My only comment though is that it isn’t moisturizing enough for my dry patches and so I still add a bit more of my COSRX Honey Ceramide moisturizer on those areas for an extra moisturizing kick. Can’t wait to see what more this cream will do for me! It looks very promising!
I also bought this from Dara Beauty Market!

4. Herbivore Blue Clay Detoxifying Treatment Clay Mask

Love. I bought this because I wanted a mask that could calm down my flare ups or troubled times. And this does exactly that. It’s a clay mask and so it’s a bit messy BUT trust me when I tell you that it’s not as messy as compared to the other clay masks. Plus, you don’t need that much powder to cover your whole face! At first I thought, “Wow, this jar is going to be gone by next month.” But NO. It will last way longer than that. Because it doesn’t need that much powder as it doesn’t have to be too thick. So yeah, keep that in mind! I like using this mask because it really calms down my skin. And it doesn’t sting unlike other masks. I have sensitive skin and so I was kind of worried it might get irritated BUT this worked for me. The only thing I may not like about this product though is that it can be a bit drying and so you really have to moisturize after using it. And don’t overuse it! Maybe twice a month would be enough, especially if you have sensitive skin. Remember, less is more!
I bought this from Makeup Depot! Check them out on Instagram!

5. Origins Masks (Drink-up Intensive Overnight Mask & Out of trouble 10-minute mask)

I bought these two in Guam. I’ve been meaning to try Origins masks but they’re a bit pricey in Manila and so I decided to buy them in Guam for $26 each. I’m glad I did because I have been really liking these two! I bought the Drink-up Intensive Overnight mask because I was having trouble with my dry patches and so I wanted to find a mask that would moisturize them and so far this has been doing wonders. It has a fruity smell and so it smells very yummy! It’s the kind of mask that doesn’t leave you feeling oily. Once it’s absorbed by the skin, it doesn’t leave any residue. My skin just feels smooth, soft and hydrated. As for the 10-minute out of trouble make, I bought it cause I wanted a mask I could use for urgent times when I’m starting a breakout and I don’t want it to continue. I had a bad breakout in Guam and so I tested this out and it worked! It contains salicylic acid and zinc oxide which really helps in calming down the skin and decreasing breakouts. I’m going to continue using this and hopefully, my breakouts become less instense!

6. Mario Badescu Haul (Buffering Lotion, Drying Cream, Drying Lotion, AHA Botanical Body Soap, Rose Water Facial spray – not in the picture)

So they started selling this brand in Rustans’ and I decided to try it out because I have heard so many bloggers rave about it – even celebrities. I’ve tried everything except the Soap and so far I’ve been loving them all. The two I really love though are the Drying Lotion and the Facial Spray. The drying lotion is one of my holy grail products! I usually put it on pimples that are exposed – not cysts because that’s not what it works on. It stings a bit when I apply it but I really feel it killing the bacteria and drying out the pimple! And tbh I love that feeling (is that weird) hahaha as for the facial spray, I use it everyday! I was actually considering buying the glossier facial spray instead of this one but the Mario Badescu one is much cheaper and I just think it’s much more practical. It hydrates my skin so well and leaves on a dewy look which I absolutely love!

7. Sulwhasoo Masks (Overnight Vitalizing Mask Ex, TruFresh Soothing Mask, Clarifying Mask Ex, Radiance Energy Mask)

This was a complete impulse buy. I know that Sulwhasoo is a very good brand and so I decided to buy all these “mini-masks” for P1000 which isn’t bad. I haven’t had a chance to use any of them yet though cause I’ve been really busy and I’ve been using the other products but so far I’ve been reading good reviews on these four masks. I honestly can’t wait to try them out! And for sure I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
I bought this again from Dara Beauty Market! They sell so many good brands for reasonable prices!

8. Simple Micellar Cleansing Water & Oil Balancing Cleansing wipes (not in the picture)

I heard Simple is a really good brand for sensitive skin! You can get it almost anywhere! It’s a British Brand that’s been gaining a lot of hype here in the Philippines! I bought the Micellar Water from Pcx and the wipes from Kmart in Guam. They’re really affordable and so I say, go get em! They’re also very gentle. I use them when I need extra cleansing or when I have a lot of heavy makeup on. I do a lot of cleansing when I wear heavy makeup because the last thing I want is my pores clogged up with makeup. So far, these products have been helping me out with my “triple cleanse process” which I really like! And so YAY.

9. Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash

This was another impulse buy from Dara Beauty Market! It’s really affordable and so I wanted to try it out. It’s a powder wash and so it starts out as powder but once you rub it onto your damp face, it’ll turn into a foamy cleanser. I only used it twice so far but during those two times, I really felt it exfoliating my skin. Since they’re pretty much like grains, they really go deep and cleanse and exfoliate your skin. It’s also really fun to use tbh cause it’s powder and so it’s a cool product to have. I need to use it a bit more to have a better idea of how it’s benefiting my skin, but I definitely look forward to it!

10. COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream

Snail products have always been good to my skin. I love how these products make my skin feel moisturized and plump. I love my COSRX snail essence and so I decided to try out this cream because I heard it’s been getting so many good reviews. So far it’s been really helping with my fine lines and healing some of my dry patches! It’s a thick white kind of transparent cream with no fragrance at all which I appreciate cause there are times when I get turned off by products with strong fragrances. I use this in conjunction with my Dynasty Cream. I switch between the two and so far they’ve been working great and complementing each other and so they both really help!

11. Pure Actives Emu Oil

I was researching for a good oil I could use with my everyday moisturizer and this is what I found. Emu Oil is said to be good for many things! This oil does everything. It heals, moisturizes, hydrates and even more! I usually mix this with my moisturizer. I put around 2-3 drops. It definitely makes my skin feel so much more supple – as well as “glowy”. I put the oil directly on my fresh acne scars and it healed them plus moisturized them and so later on, they were no longer itchy or irritated but instead soothed. Plus it’s very good for sensitive skin!
Buy it from beautyMNL and try it out now!

12. Mumuso Black Pearl Eye Masks

I love eye masks!!!! I guess it’s cause I have really dark circles under my eyes plus they tend to get dry and so these are a must for me. I used to use the snail kind but I decided to try something new and therefore I bought this one! I love how they’re black! Well duh cause black pearl. But I read that black pearl is a favorite in Korean skincare! And so I was very excited to try these out. I only got to use them once though cause I haven’t found the time BUT when I used the first pair, I definitely noticed a change – my under eyes were much more hydrated and plump. The darkness was still there (wasn’t really expecting it to go away anyway) But when I applied concealer it was much more moisturized and I didn’t have fine lines I usually do and so I’m really looking forward to using them again and seeing the difference! Plus Mumuso is such an affordable Korean brand and so what are you waiting for????
