Zodiac Magic 💫

AHHHH Hello there 🌸

Another makeup photoshoot here! 💜 This one is very close to my heart – I’ve been wanting to do this for months now but I just couldn’t find the time!!! The other week, I finally finished it! What made this project a bit more difficult to do was to find 12 different models for each sign. I wanted to be true to each Zodiac Sign and to do that, I had to stalk people to get their birth dates (HAHAHAHA) All the ladies who modeled for me are part of the sign they modeled for. Aside from that, it was challenging because I had to do A LOT of research on all the signs. It’s a great thing I got to collaborate with my good friend, Monica who’s passion is just that. She knows EVERYTHING there is to know about each sign which made it tremendously fun and easy to make each makeup design.

The reason why I also enjoyed this was because it was so interesting to learn about other signs aside from my own (I’m a capricorn, I know…. WHY hahaha) It was interesting to know that some felt as if they belonged to their sign while others thought different ( just like me) And it was so funny cause I could actually see and observe their different personality traits just while putting their makeup on. AMAZING.

All in all, this was a wonderful collaboration! BUT IT’S NOT OVER YET. This is only Part I! Part II will be coming out mid-July (I’m on vacation right now and so I don’t have the time to finish it huhu)

*** On to the looks!!! ***

– A more detailed description is included with each look –

But right before that of course, props to some people! Props to my partner, Monica, who made this all possible! Props to my fave photographer, Boo, who takes the best shots! Props to my models for being so BEAUTIFUL + patient and open to this project (and omg three of my models, I met them only THAT DAY and so I was really shy but thank you for making me feel comfortable, I hope you guys enjoyed!)

VIRGO The Perfectionist

– Critical, Methodical, Function-oriented –

Model – Dana Carmella

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Virgo is also known as the disappointed goddess. And so there’s the first hint, I needed this look to be elegant and god-like. I ended up going with silver instead of the usual gold for two reasons – first, it’s ruler is Mercury and second, gold screams royalty and hierarchy while silver screams elegance and beauty and I wanted to “showcase” the latter.

Aside from elegant, I also wanted this look to be simple and clean. Therefore I focused on the eyes and lips instead of working all around. I didn’t want to make the mistake of overdoing this look. I added glitter to her eyes because I wanted to make them pop but not too much which is why I only put some on her lids. For her lips, I went with a darker shade (with a touch of gold) because I wanted her to look godly, mature and more so, wise. And when I see someone with a dark lip shade, it just screams maturity. (Well, in some cases hahaha)

All in all, I think this look was perfect for Dana. Her features – cheekbones and jawline are absolutely divine – as if like a goddess herself. Funny, this was her first time to do something like this. This was even her first time wearing makeup this heavy! And guess what? Her pictures are nothing short of AMAZING. Enjoy the shots below!

TAURUS The Earth Spirit

– Stubborn, Steadfast, Practical –

Model – Czarina Villarama

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Taurus is also known as the bull. Now, I wanted this look to be strong and bold which is why I focused a lot on the eyes and eyebrows. I outlined her brows (she had beautiful brows to begin with so YAY) and shaded them in with a color that was almost all black. But I didn’t want them to look as if they were drawn on with a marker and so I kept them soft by adding a bit of powder as well as brushing them a lot.

Sometimes for certain looks, I choose certain shapes to help bring out a specific character. For Taurus, I chose pointy shapes aka horns which is why her eye makeup is the way it is. I decided to use the color green instead of the usual red because Taurus is an earth sign. I chose a mossy shade of green to complete the look – outlining her nose as well as horns on her forehead.

Czarina loved this look and she definitely worked it! I mean look at her smize!!! If you check out her pictures below, you’ll see she’s just as strong and bold as a Taurus is meant to be!

LEO The Child

– Playful, Willful, Childlike –

Model – Erika Rafael

fullsizerender-4.jpg

Leo is also known as the lion. This look was so much fun to do because I really played around with it. Leo’s are cute, lively and most of all, they are attention-seekers, just like children, and so I really wanted this look to grab some attention. Which is why the look is all about golds, yellows and oranges. Those bright colors really catch the eye. For this look, color was very vital and it was great that I got Erika to model for me – her brows are naturally bold and her skin is somewhat of a golden brown which makes the yellow colors POP. Exactly what I wanted!

This makeup look is a bit more literal compared to the others but I planned it that way because Leo just screams lion! And so I really went for those freckles and cute little lion nose. To make the look more “BAM” I added gold to the freckles which helped everything come together. For her lips, I chose to use a goldish pinkish shade because Leo is a young playful sign and so why make her look old with some dark shade lipstick?

In the end, this look turned out to be perfect and more so for my model who had such a fun time modelling for it! She brought so much life and childlike fun to the look. Such natural beauty!

ARIES The Daredevil

– Ambitious, Enthusiastic, Straightforward –

Model – Lala Singian

fullsizerender-5.jpg

Aries, also known as the ram is a very bold and adventurous sign. They’re known for being spontaneous and exciting and so what did I do with this look? I just “went for it”. I experimented with it – not sure of what exactly I wanted to do. All I did was choose the prominent color to be red because it is a fire sign after all.

For her eyes, I mixed different shades of red – maroon, brick red, bright red! While I was doing it, I started to get an idea of what I wanted. I wanted her to look like the exact version of Virgo. I wanted her to look playful, carefree and messy (in a good way) which is why her eye makeup is the way it is. And I topped it off with some silver glitter to make the look even louder. For the final touch, I added the sign of Aries to her forehead to complete this whole look. I love how it goes with the look and isn’t too literal.

Lala, my Aries model, was perfect for this look! She considers herself a true Aries at heart and just rocked the whole look. It was funny cause she told me this was her first time to do something like this and so she was nervous, but just look at the output and those angles! AMAZING. (Plus it was her first time to ever wear falsies and she loved it!!!)

In the end, even though I started this look not knowing what to expect, I liked the outcome – in fact, I loved it. It’s bold, beautiful and most of all, spontaneous. Which is exactly what an Aries is supposed to be!

CANCER The Healer

– Emotional, Sensitive, Nurturing –

Model – Alecx Lorica

FullSizeRender 2

Cancer is the really emotional sign also known as the crab. For this look, a lot of MUAs chose the color red (like a crab) but I decided to go with blue instead because it’s a water sign. Plus, it’s one of the moodiest signs and the color that I really associate the word moody with is the color blue. It worked out perfectly because I knew that blue would look great on my model for this look, Alecx.

For Cancer, I really wanted to focus on the eyes and keep the rest of the face clean. Be drawn to her eyes, that’s the goal. For the eyeshadow, I chose to use all kinds of blues – light blue, dark blue, blue green, you name it! Note, these were super shimmery colors. I just knew that matte colors wouldn’t work. I needed this look to be shining shimmering splendid! (see what I did there hahaha) Anyway, I went all out on the eyes adding silver and blue glitter to top it all off. I also added three silver dots on her forehead to kind of give off an “authority-ish” vibe since Cancer is also known as the mother and healer after all.

To be honest, Alecx was a natural. When Boo started shooting, she knew what to do and so it was no surprise that her pictures came out great! Plus she really gives off that strong but protective kind of vibe – like if you mess with her friends or fam, you dead (HAHAHAHA). In the end, this look was perfect for her and she rocked it like a pro!

Makeup Art: Flowers, the Sky and the Sea 💜

Hi guys! So I’m back again with ANOTHER makeup shoot 🌸

If you noticed, the title of this blog post has the word ‘art’ in it. That’s because to do these makeup looks, I used my ‘artsy side’. I love to paint. My favorite kind of paint is acrylic. It’s been an interest of mine since I was in HS. If you came into my room, the first thing you would notice are the bunch of canvases displayed all around. These are paintings I’ve done since I was 14 years old.

For this shoot, I wanted a makeup x painting kind of look. And so I decided to focus on two things: the eyes and the lips. Good thing my model, Ylo has both beautiful eyes and lips (hehe love u). She’s my good friend and she’s beautiful! Check out her IG here! 🙂

I did two looks for this shoot, a floral makeup look & a sky and sea makeup look. Hope you guys like them! All photos were taken and processed by me 🌸

***

For the first look, I did a ‘floral summary kind of look’. For her eyeshadow base, I used Juvia’s Nubian Palette. I used the light bronze and glittery orange shade. I darkened her crease with the Naked Basics Palette. For her liner, I used my metallic green face paint stick and for the liner under her eye I used an orange metallic color. The flowers on her eyes were done using face paint and a super tiny paint brush. It was really hard to do the flowers because the face paint was slippery and so sometimes it wouldnt stay and so I had to really use a lot of paint. To finish up this look, I used Revlon’s Crimson lipstick for her lips! It just complements her eye makeup beautifully! (Also look at her skin color! It’s GORGEOUS! Perfect for this look 🌞)

For the second look, I used cool tones and so yes, super opposite of the first look. I wanted to paint (symbolically) the sky and sea on her face. It was quite difficult. But in the end, the look worked. I couldn’t help but sing “how far I’ll go” while doing this because seriously… “see the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls meeee”! 🌊

For this look, I really played around. I didn’t have a solid plan when I started. I just had an idea that I wanted there to be some sort of sea and sky. For her eyeshadow base, I used my Pro 28 Rainbow Metallics eyeshadow palette! The blue colors are sooo pretty! I used three shades of blue: sky blue, dark blue and blue green. I also used Juvia’s Nubian Palette for this certain shade of dark blue. For the clouds on her eyes, I used white face paint. The clouds are so cute hahahaha and then I finished up her eyes by adding blue glitter. I always freak out when I work with glitter cause it gets everywhere but it just completes the look and so I had to use it! For her lips, I used the metallic blue face paint stick and added glitters for one half and white face paint + blue face paint for the other half. It supposed to represent the deep part of the sea (the dark side) and the shore (the light side).

All in all, it wasn’t an easy look to do (it was quite messy) but it was really fun! And look the pictures are nice!!!

DISCLAIMER: These are my personal ideas/designs! But of course, they were inspired by several looks on the internet! I added my own twists. Also, all these photos were taken and processed by me and so they belong to me! Thank you!

Solar Madness 🌌

It’s been a while, but I’m baaaack ❤

Plus I can finally wear eye makeup!!! And so what better way to celebrate than do a makeup shoot?!??!

This is a shoot I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I got inspired because I saw these cool galaxy contact lenses while I was scrolling through my facebook feed and so I said, “Hey, why not do a shoot like this???” Unfortunately, I still cannot use contact lenses because I’m recovering from an infection (HUHU) and so I decided to just make the face makeup more bongga instead!

I wanted to make this shoot a bit different from the rest and so I decided to do 3 looks: one each representing a different planet. I chose Mars, Neptune and of course, Mother Earth. I chose these 3 planets based on their colors since I wanted a variety! (And so yes, I researched). And for each look, I wanted it to be placed differently on my face and so one is focused on the forehead while the other is focused on half of the face and so on. (you’ll see what I mean hehe)

Anyway, this shoot was pretty simple and I really enjoyed it 💖 It was actually a lot quicker than I thought it would be 😅 Hope you guys like it! Let me know in the comments what you guys think! Looking forward to it xx

1. NEPTUNE

For Neptune, the color palette was full of blues, purples and blue greens (I LOVE THESE COLORS). For my face makeup, I used eyeshadow (YES, that’s a lot of eyeshadow) but the effect was magical – I loved how sparkly and glittery it was. I used the Nubian 2 Palette as well as my Pro 28 Rainbow Mettalics. I then used some face paint sticks with metallic colors, purple, blue and green to kind of add some depth and shape. And then I blended it all in.

For this look, I chose to have bold brows and lips thus the really dark brows and the black lips. I loved the effect and how it looked dark yet magical. Oh, and I used an Acrylic Marker (that writes on ANYTHING) for the stars and constellations. I know, pretty crazy. It was the only thing that worked!!!! (But of course, I made sure that I could easily wash it off by testing it first. The last thing I wanted was a permanent stain on my face. Hahahah anyway, here’s the final look! 💜

2. MARS

I chose Mars as one of my three looks because I wanted to do a pinkish, reddish, goldish look <333 because the colors are beautiful!!! I loved how this turned out!!! I chose to do the half face one for this and I loved the effect. For my face makeup, I used the Nubian 2 palette again! This palette is so pigmented, it’s amaziiiing!!!!

I also used the metallic face paint pens such as orange and pink for more glitter and effect! I decided to keep my brows soft and as for my lips, I chose a red shade but made sure to add a bit of gold in the middle- for a “golden effect”. In the end, I love how this look looks burnt but golden at the same time. Definitely one of my faves ❤️

3. EARTH

Of course, I wouldn’t forget our dear Mother Earth ❤ I decided to do Mother Earth with a twist which is to add some pink! (Cause you don’t see the pink from space right) The pink represents nature – all the pretty flowers!!! For this look, I wanted to kind of make it look like a mask. In the end, I figured I got it right cause when my cousin saw me, he said “Cool mask!” hahahaha. Again, I used the Pro 28 Rainbow Metallics palette as well as the Nubian 2 palette for my face makeup! It’s all about the blues and greens for this look!

For my eyes, I used the face paint pen to mark my under eyes with green and pink for an accent and I really liked the turn out. For my lips, I decided to keep it pink and natural – it was a really good decision because there was a nice contrast between the busy eye area and the chill lip area. Sometimes, simplicity is key 💙

AHHHH I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures as much I enjoyed painting the look ❤ It’s been a while and so it feels great to be back in the zone! AND, since I’m back, stay tuned for more makeup shoots!!! As well as something new on my blog soon! STAY TUNED Y’ALL ✨

Glossier Love 💕☁️🌸

Hi guys! 🌈

So I’m squeezing in this short review of the Glossier products I have right now cause people have been asking me about them and soooooo, here you go! ❤️ To those contemplating whether on spending on these Glossier products, I hope this helps you out! 🙂

The current products I have right now are the Glossier Priming Moisturizer and two Cloud Paints: Haze & Dusk! I’m still waiting for my boy brow which I can’t wait to try!!!

Glossier Priming Moisturizer

Bottom line: I love this primer. It’s the best one for me so far! It’s not heavy at all and the best part is, it really moisturizes. I get really dry skin sometimes depending on the weather and so it’s great to have a primer that hydrates my skin.

I wasn’t able to take a picture (huhu) but so you guys know, it has quite a slippery texture – and it has a white color (kinda looks like Johnson’s baby lotion). It’s not super thick and so it’s easy to spread. I usually use a pea sized amount for my everyday makeup look but for days that require heavier makeup, I use a bit more!

What I also like about this priming moisturizer, is that it helps my makeup stay longer but doesn’t leave it looking “patchy”. It ends up giving me a dewy look which I super loveeeee. I just have to use blotting paper sometimes but it’s ok, I always have one in my bag anyway.

And so if you guys want a primer that isn’t too heavy, moisturizes your skin and that is good for everyday use, this could be it for you!

It’s $25, a bit pricey but I’d like to think it’s worth it!

Glossier Cloud Paint

I was never really into liquid blush but this here is definitely a game changer! I love the natural look and so you can just imagine how obsessed I got with this product. It gives off the PERFECT natural look! The paint isn’t too heavy or too light, it’s just right. Plus, I love the variety of colors they have! I only ordered 2 though but to be honest, because of how much I love them, I’m thinking of getting the other two aaaahhhhh 🙈 They’re $18 each and $30 of you buy 2!

DUSK

Dusk is the perfect pinkish nude color. It’s very natural-looking and perfect for your everyday look. I like using peach blush as compared to pink blush and so when I saw this color, I knew I had to get it! It gives me that rosy look but not the pink kind of rosy look, the orange-ish kind, if you guys know what I mean. I like using this color with dark lipstick shades to contrast the light blush.

Here are some of the shots I took with Dusk so that you can see what it looks like on a human person hahaha (btw I’m using the priming moisturizer as my base)

As you can see, it gives me a bright “peachy” look and I like how it complements my red lips and dark brows. Can you guys see the swatch on my arm??? If you do, you’ll see how pink nude it is and how PRETTY it is ❤️

HAZE

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first to buy Haze. I was debating between getting either Haze or Puff! I was afraid that Haze would look to dark on me but I super loved the color and so I decided to buy it anyway and just figure it out later on. Luckily, it looks beautiful on light-skinned people too!!! It gives that flushed pink look that you usually get after a great workout which makes me feel really good hahaha I like pairing it up with nude lipsticks to kind of contrast the dark pink pigment on my cheeks.

It is not as subtle as Dusk but it’s still natural looking – just a bit more on the pink side. I don’t usually wear pink blush but I like how this looks on me. It’s not too pink, it’s just right. Just be careful though not to put too much! That actually goes for all the cloud paints! LESS IS MORE. Also, it’s a pretty tiny tube so I’m sure you guys would want to make it last!

(Please don’t mind my “not threaded” eyebrows and my eyebags and all the flaws hahaha it’s me trying to be confident in my own skin 😅)

I bought these on Makeup Depot! Check out their Instagram here! You can buy these products also on the Glossier site! 🙂

Anyway that’s it for this review! I have yet to review my other glossier products and so stay tuned for that! Also, stay tuned for a very special post coming out next week 💖 Again, keep your messages and comments comin’!!!! I am reading every one of them ❤️ Happy Easter guys!!!! ☺️

Makeup Magic ✨💄

Hello again ❤️

It’s been a while but my schedule is now finally free which means more blog posts coming up! I’m going back to my  schedule of posting every Tuesday & Friday so stay tuned for my posts. Again, thank you to all of you guys who have been messaging me and commenting and liking my posts. I’m glad that I get to help you guys in the little ways I can 🙂

This is a whole new post for me! And definitely out of my comfort zone (like AAAHHHHHH) I’m very used to putting makeup on myself and posting about it BUT it’s a whole different ball game when I put makeup on other people and post about it. I was very nervous about doing this but I have a very good support system (hi friends <3) and they encouraged me to go for it! Plus, my three amazing models really gave me that push and inspired me to go through with it (Hi Justine, Erika and Helene!).

These makeup looks were actually inspired by blueREP’s 25th anniversary concert that took place last Saturday! These looks represent different numbers from different Broadway shows that we performed. I told each of my models to pick one number and that I would come up with a makeup look for it.

This is what I came up with! Again, I am fairly new at this and so I may not know all the tricks and tips yet but I’m getting there. Practice makes perfect and so if you’re game to model for me and don’t mind me touching your face lol hit me up! 🙂

By the way, these beautiful pictures were taken by my boyfriend, Boo Gabunada, who is an amazing photographer. We’re kinda trying out this MUA- Photographer tandem thing and I guess we’ll see where it goes hahaha

HOME – The Wiz (Justine Narciso)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Originally, for this number, we were told by our costume designer to wear pastel colors -pink, green, yellow, blue, purple but later on, they changed it BUT ANYWAY, this look was based on the first plan. For this makeup look, I wanted to incorporate a bunch of colors but I still wanted to keep it simple and elegant. For her lips, I chose purple lipstick cause what could be more pastel than purple lipstick??! For her eyes, I used shimmery pastel colors such as pink, purple, yellow and blue green and chose to focus all the color on the eyes. I like Justine’s eyes. I like how happy and full of life they look, especially when she smiles and so I was really happy that I got to do this look on her. To make this look a bit more striking, I decided to add a bit of “shiny thingys” which you see on the sides of her eyes. All in all, I think that Justine really pulled off this look: a look that’s bold but still simple and sweet.

WE DANCE – Once On This Island (Erika Rafael)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I was really excited to do this look because it is simply perfect for Erika. I planned for my “Once On This Island” makeup look to be full of bright colors like purple, red and yellow. I wanted to give off that island tribe vibe and Erika’s look made the whole thing work out perfectly. Erika has beautiful brown skin which complemented the bold colors I used on her – I used red, purple and orange eyeshadow for her eyes and mixed in some yellow face paint to give it an accent. As for her lips, I wanted it to be really red but with a touch of gold (which you will see). I was going back and forth about the face paint but I decided to use it anyway and I’m glad I did. It gives off an ethnic tribe look which is what I was going for. With this look, she’s definitely ready to “dance to the earth and dance to the water”!

MAGIC TO DO – Pippin (Helene Enriquez)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Our take on this musical number is pretty dark – as our musical director, Ejay Yatco described it, “it’s candy with a poison”. In this number, Helene plays a dark magician and so for this look, I wanted it to be quite dark but still pretty playful. I decided to play with the colors, red, black and blue. They can be fun colors but they can also be very dark. Helene’s face is actually quite innocent and so I wanted this makeup look to “break” that. And I think it kinda did. For her eyes, I used mostly red and gray shades and then I spilled out a bit of blue onto her face for a magical effect. I also added some glitter for a “magic touch”. As you can see there are only parts of this look that are really dark such as her lips, lashes and brows. I did this because I wanted her look to be bold but still fun. I did the bottom lash look for an extra “creepy” effect and made her lips pure black with a dab of red – which I really LOVE. In the end, she no longer looked like the “sweet innocent” Helene but this dark magician kinda like a darker Zatanna (if you know her from D.C. hahaha) I mean look at that creepy smile!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHH Well, there you go ❤️ This actually happened 🙂 I’m really happy I finally got the courage to try this out! I had so much fun doing it, especially because of the company! So shoutout to Justine, Erika and Helene for being such great and fun models and to Boo, for being an amazing photographer! Like I said, practice makes perfect and so I’m planning more shoots like this! And so if you guys are game to model for me, hit me up! It would mean a LOT
