Sun.dry Collab Shoot πŸŒΈ

Hello again 🌸

A few weeks ago I had my first collaboration

Tbh, I am not a model. I do not have any professional experience at all. It’s really just a hobby – and so I wasn’t even expecting them to contact me but lo and behold, they did. And I’m really glad they did!!!!

This was such a fun shoot. Shout out to Chris (the owner of sun.dry) and Kurt (the photographer)!!! They made me feel comfortable (even though I was super nervous) which made it easier for me to just be myself in front of the camera.

In the end, it was such a great experience! The pictures came out great and everyone was really happy πŸ’œ

For this blog post, I want to share with you guys some of the looks we shot! And if you like any piece of clothing in particular, check out sun.dry here on Instagram! Also, ALL pictures were taken by Kurt Rebolledo! You can check out his instagram here!

Hoping for more collabs and shoots in the future! If ever you want to work together just contact me through IG direct messages or email me at krystalckane@gmail.com 🌸

Coachella Fashion: Brave Heart, Free Spirit, Wild Style πŸŒΈ

Coachella Season.

One thing I love doing during Coachella season (since I can’t go there myself huhu) is looking at all theΒ fashion outfits and makeup looks! Every year, there is always something new, something fresh, something different and I just love getting the inspiration for more looks!

This year I saw some really great looks and I thoughtΒ hey, since I have a blog now why don’t I do my own Coachella x LeadiiingLady twist?!? HELL YEAH.

At first I was a bit hesitant to go for it because this is something really new to me. I haven’t posted a fashion blog post before nor have I posted a blog post with me actually modeling. But I thought about what I said in my previous blog post- that I can’t keep holding back because I’m insecure or afraid of what people might think. This is me being me, this is me expressing myself. This is something that I shouldn’t be ashamed of doing. And so after going back and forth, this post finally happened.

This is my first FASHION x MAKEUP POST and so please bear with me πŸ˜… I’m not sure if I’m doing this right but hopefully I am! And if you enjoyed this post, please let me know in the comments section. That way, I can come up with better, more amazing posts for you guys in the future πŸ’œ

All fashion and makeup looks were done by me. All photos were taken by my amazing photographer/boyfriend, Boo Gabunada. Again, we’re trying out this MUA x Photographer tandem and it’s going REALLY WELL hehe and so I’ll be posting about a lot of more projects in the near future πŸ˜‰

***NOTE: Some outfits/makeup looks were inspired by my favorite celebrities & bloggers at Coachella and so I’ll be posting their photos here for your reference!***

FLOWER

For this look, I wanted to go for a feminine, simple and pretty look. Basically – “a breath of fresh air”. Which is why I chose to keep the outfit candid by using a plain white off shoulder top (H&M), a denim jumper (Cotton On) and a pair of beat up white converse (Converse).

For the makeup look, I chose a different take by making my eyes colorful by adding blue, purple, green and yellow eyeshadow under my eyes. Can I just say, I used Hello Gorgeous PH‘s rainbow eyeshadow/highlighter and it is THE BEST. It’s sooo pigmented and the colors are beautiful! Plus it stayed on the whole time!!! Beautiful product indeed! As for my hair, I did a pigtail french braid but it’s not seen 😦 I braided my hair cause I wanted a playful young look in the mix and this hairstyle exhibits just that!

In all, I loved how my makeup complemented my outfit. It gave a lot more life to the look without overpowering it – in the end, I was able to go for that flower child look with a colorful twist.

MISS

This next outfit was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers/vloggers, Claudia Sulewski! When I saw what she wore to Coachella Day 1, I told myself I had to include this look! It’s very edgy, boyish and most of all, it doesn’t look like a Coachella outfit at all WHICH MADE ME WANT TO DO IT MORE. Like I said, I love seeing fresh, unique, new outfits and this was it!!!

img_9047-2.png

If I had to choose any one of these outfits to actually wear out, it would be this one. The “boyish” side just calls to me hahaha! For this look, I chose a simple black tank top (Cotton On) and army pants (Cotton On) plus I decided to pair it with sneakers (F21) so that this outfit screams more than just “military!!!” As for my makeup, I used gold, bronze and dark brown for the colors of my eyeshadow and kept it simple with a reddish-ginger shade for my lips c/o my Kylie Liquid Lipstick in shade Ginger. I went for the same hairstyle as Claudia but since my hair is really short, it kept falling and so it ended up looking messier than planned (but tbh I think it made the whole thing looks better)

I love how the whole thing turned out. It had just the right amount of feminine in this boyish look.

MISS (3)

This next outfit was pretty much inspired by Kendall Jenner (her outfit in 2014) and another favorite blogger of mine, Griffin Arnlund (her outfit this year). I decided to mix up the two because I liked how my nude crochet top (@holyswimph) looked with my harem pants (from Cambodia). Plus I really love Kendall and Griffin’s fashion style!!!

img_9058-2.png

For this look, I wanted to go for a “pretty pink look” BUT with rainbow cheeks which is why I used the Hello Gorgeous Rainbow Highlighter again this time around but for my cheeks. (I didn’t want to make it too dark though and so I kept it pretty subtle.) As for my eyes, I added a bit more rose gold to the crease to kind of get that rosy look. My lips on the other hand were Revlon (Crimson) x Colourpop Metallic Liquid Lipstick (Maneater) because I wanted them to shine. For this look, I decided to keep my hair down and add a simple flower crown for that “girly” feel.

All in all, I think I ended up with this forest nymph fairy look with a touch of boho which I was happy with. The pictures though are a bit blurry 😦 cause this was the last set we took and we were losing light and so this was the best we could do. Hope you still like them though!

MISS (2)

Who doesn’t love Vanessa Hudgens? She is the QUEEN of Coachella. And so this post wouldn’t be complete without recreating one of her best looks! I decided to go with one of the looks she did back in Coachella 2014. I loved this look! It was everything: edgy, girly, boho, summery, floral, etc!!! I tried my best to recreate this look with, of course, my own twist and I *think* it ended up looking good!

IMG_9100 2

My plan for this look was to channel my inner boho! I bought this dress before from Forever 21 but haven’t found the perfect time to use it UNTIL NOW. I also added a black lacey bra under for an extra “hmph” like what Vanessa did with her outfit! The boots are my mom’s (hahaha thanks mom) and as for the hat, I bought it from Cotton On! I chose “boho” accessories to use such as feathers (from Taiwan), chokers, colorful hoop earrings and those “circle shades”.

On the other hand, my makeup stayed pretty simple. All I did was darken my eyebrows a bit more and color my lips a darker shade of red (Revlon Crimson x MAC Paramount). I did this cause I wanted those features to pop. Just a note: when it comes to quick-changing makeup, best to focus on your lips and eyebrows. They only take a short time to fix PLUS they make a HUGE difference! As for my hair, I decided to keep it in a messy halfpony so that it wouldn’t be too “big” under the hat.

MISS (1)

But wait! This Coachella post wouldn’t be complete without a look from Vanessa’s best friend, Ashley!!! Again, this is a totally different lookdenim on denim, baby!!! I love denim. It’s my go-to fashion piece when I’m in a hurry or can’t think of anything else to wear. When all else fails, go denim. ANYWAY, I thought this look was really cool and different from the rest which is why I chose to include it in this post.

img_9043.png

For my outfit, I chose a black crop top (Cotton On) under to kind of cancel out all the denim. My denim jacket is from H&M while my BEAUTIFUL pants are from a thrift shop in the States. I’ve had these pants for years but I never wore them out and now I wonder WHYYYY??? because they are beautiful and the details are exquisite! Definitely wearing this out soon! Added a hat from Cotton On and wore high-heeled boots from Forever 21!

This is one of those looks whichΒ I spent a long while on hahaha for my makeup, I chose to keep my eyes dark with a bit of bronze for the under part.Β And if you noticed, I also added bronze dots above my eyebrow line. I would have wanted this to be jewel beads but I couldn’t find any 😦 and so that’s for another post, for sure!!! I used Juvia’s Nubian palette for this because it is SUPER pigmented!!! The color just sticks and so I had no problem making this look.

And omg is that a nose ring I see??? Hahaha dont worry mom, it’s fake hahaha I’m really into the nose ring look right now that I ordered a few from Armstrong and Smith! Their designs are really cute! You should check them out!!! My dream catcher necklace is actually from Boo! It’s from Taiwan! It’s a bit too big to wear to “normal” outings but I decided to wear it here cause it fit the occasion. AND who could miss my “eye” earring!!! Love this piece. It’s very edgy and unique and so I knew that it would go perfect with this outfit!

All in all, this was a super fun look to do! I enjoyed going out of my comfort zone and shooting this!!!

TADAAAAA so that’s what I’ve been working on for the past week!!! πŸ’— This has been such a fun blog post to shoot and prepare for! It’s way out of my comfort zone especially the fashion part because I have not yet posted a “fashion blog post” – I feel iffy about my style. But after writing that post about embracing and appreciating onself, I decided, what the hell, this is my way of expressing myself! And in the end, I’m proud of this. And I’m proud of myself.

Since I really enjoyed doing this post, stay tuned for way more makeup and fashion shoots coming your way!!! Boo and I are going to be teaming up again for other themed shoots and so if you’re interested to model for us, hit me up!
