My Everyday Skincare Routine (Updated) ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿป

Hellooooooo! I am back with another post!!! I was actually supposed to post this yesterday but my schedule has been crazy with rehearsals, gigs & all so I only got to post it now ๐Ÿ˜…

ANYWAY, so many people have been asking me about my current skincare routine and it’s funny cause that was one of the reasons why I started this blog in the first place. Apparently Instagram has a character count??? And sooo, I couldn’t share my skincare routine on Instagram (cause it’s too damn long hahaha) I had to find another way. And I ended up making a full blown blog because of it.

My skincare routine blog post has been receiving a lot of views and comments and so I wanted to post another one which is the updated version because I made a few changes and added/replaced/took out some. And so here it is! Again if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave a comment! I will get back to you as soon as I can! ๐Ÿ™‚

For this post I used the emojis, ๐ŸŒž &๐ŸŒ›! The sun means I use it in the morning, the moon means I use it in the evening and if both are present, that means I use them both morning and evening!

 1. CLEANSING BALM (Banila Co.) ๐ŸŒ›

FAVE BALM FOREVER. Like I super love this!!! This is already my fourth tub! So as you can see I love it so much โค๏ธ I use this every night even when I don’t wear that much makeup because it helps get rid of the impurities and dirt on my skin so that my pores do not get clogged and cause acne! For me, this is a NEED in any skincare routine and so go and buy one now!

2. EXFOLIATOR (Cure) ๐ŸŒ›

This is my go-to exfoliator! At first it may not seem like one because it doesn’t have any beads or grains but once you rub it on your DRY face, you’ll see the magic happen! It ends up taking off all your dead and dry skin! And it’s makes no mess at all! It’s a bit pricey but it’s a huge bottle! It’ll surely last you a few months since you’re only supposed to exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week.

3. CLEANSER (COSRX pH Cleanser) ๐ŸŒž

So far, this is one of the best cleansers I have ever tried. It’s so gentle yet it really cleans my skin! It takes out all the dirt and impurities! Plus, it even works as a great make-up remover. Whenever I use this to take off make-up, it doesn’t need much! This is my go-to cleanser because after I use, my face always feels squeaky clean!

4. CLEANSER (COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser) ๐ŸŒ›

Another one of my go-to cleansers! I use this one at night only. Unlike other exfoliating cleansers, this one does not dry up my skin! What’s a plus is that it has Salicylic Acid and so it’s great for those prone to acne! And don’t worry cause it works for sensitive skin too. I have sensitive skin and have been using this every night but it never irritated my skin or caused it to peel. That’s saying something!

5. TONER (COSRX AHA BHA Toner) ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ›

By far one of the best toners out there! It is so gentle on my skin! Would definitely recommend this to those of you who have sensitive skin. It doesn’t have much of a scent and it doesn’t sting my skin at all when I apply it. What I also like about this toner is that it makes it easier for me to apply my Vitamin C and chemical exfoliators because it normalizes the pH level of my skin which is what is needed to apply the following products!

6. VITAMIN C (Klairs) ๐ŸŒ›

I tried C21 before but oh was it strong! It didn’t do anything for my sensitive skin except make it even more sensitive. Tbh, it ended up doing more harm than good and so I decided to research for a more gentle vitamin c serum and this is what I found! It’s not too strong and so you won’t see the results right away but you WILL see them. It just takes time! I’d rather take my time than use a stronger product that could do more damage to my skin.

7. DARK SPOT CORRECTOR (Kiehls) ๐ŸŒ›

This is new in my skincare routine. I got this a few weeks back and I have been using it with my vitamin c BUT I only use this for specific areas like for my scars and dark spots. I decided to use this in conjuction with my Klairs Vitamin C because I felt like this specific areas needed an extra push. I use them together and so far they have both been working great for me!

8. AHA / BHA (COSRX) ๐ŸŒ›

I’ve been using BHA but I recently added my AHA. I wanted to try AHA because I wanted to see its effect on my whiteheads. I don’t use it everyday because I feel like that would be too much for my skin. I use it around 3 times a week or more if needed. I’d say it’s been working well for me but a bit of a warning, the smell is pretty unpleasant. And so if you’re sensitive to scents, I suggest you don’t buy it. The BHA on the other hand works well for me! It prevents pimples which I really like plus there is no scent at all and so that’s a plus!

9. ESSENCE (LJH Tea Tree Essence) ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ›

This is another addition to my skincare routine! I really liked my Snail Essence from COSRX but I just wanted to try out another one that could target specifically my oiliness and acne. And so I researched and researched and I found this! I heard this has been working great for those with sensitive skin and I’m glad I decided to try it out because I have been loving it! It really helps calm my skin down especially the redness of my skin. It’s pretty affordable and accessible and so go ahead and buy one!

10. EMULSION (COSRX Natural BHA Emulsion) ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ›

Been using this since the start and I still love it! It’s not just a moisturizer, it also works to make my skin glow as well as “mattify” it. I like using this because it’s very gentle and it really refines my skin texture – making it more smooth and plump! Some people find this unecessary but I’ve had this since the start of my skincare routine and I don’t think I’ll ever let it go!

11. MOISTURIZER (COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream) ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ›

My fave moisturizer โค I really love this moisturizer! It is not too heavy, not too light. I have combination skin and so I’m sometimes oily and I have some dry patches and so this moisturizer is perfect for me. I use only a little bit in the morning though and more at night so that I don’t get too oily during the day. This really helps get rid of my dry patches so ugh lifesaver.

12. EYE CREAM (Skinfood Salmon Eye Cream) ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ›

BEST EYE CREAM EVER. I already told you guys before that I have been looking for an eye cream that would help with my “dry” under eyes. And so far, this has been my fave!!! It took me a while to find this one but once I tried it, I instantly saw the difference! The skin under my eyes were no longer dry! Even when I applied concealer! Before my fine lines would be really seen and it looked really bad but thanks to this eye cream, that rarely happens! I apply this every morning and night!

13. SLEEPING PACK (Etude House Sleeping Pack) ๐ŸŒ›

I have been using this sleeping pack since the time I first formed my skincare routine. I was kinda afraid at first that this would make me breakout cause I know Etude House is known for really scented essences and masks but this one doesn’t really have a scent and it’s very gentle on my skin! Plus every time I wake up, my skin always feels hydrated! I’ve had this since last year and there’s still so much product left! So it’s definitely worth the price!

14. SPOT TREATMENT (Mario Badescu Drying Lotion) ๐ŸŒ›

I recently got this but it has already made it to the top of my list. I really wanted to find a strong spot treatment for my acne and so I researched about several brands but I liked this one and it’s now available in Rustans and so I bought it! On my first day of using it, I already noticed the difference! It really shrunk my pimple and dried them out! They were almost gone overnight! Definitely a keeper!

15. ACNE PATCHES (A’pieu Nonco Medicated Acne Patches)๐ŸŒ›

One of my trusty medicated acne patches!!! Whenever I put it on a spot, the next day it’s almost gone! It really works!!! I already wrote a more extensive review on this before so check it out here! ๐Ÿ™‚

16. SUNBLOCK (COSRX Aloe Vera SPF) ๐ŸŒž

My trusty sunblock! Idk what I would do without this sunblock!!!! I used to not wear sunblock because I didn’t like how it clogged my pores and I hated the sticky feeling but I knew I still needed to wear and so I researched for one that would be super light and that wouldn’t cause me to break out. I saw the great reviews of this product and so I bought it and wow it’s amazing!!!!! I never leave the house without it! It actually makes me love putting on sunblock! Which is a big thing for me. If you want a sunblock that doesn’t give you that sticky heavy feeling, this one is for you!

  1. Giiirl! I love this post because ugh skincare is life. Can you give me the order of how you put on your products, how often you apply them, and how long the wait time is for the specific products that need it (e.g. actives, vit C, etc).

I just got my AHA Whitehead Power Liquid and One Step Simple Clear Pads from COSRX and I’m not sure how often I’m supposed to use them and where to incorporate them in my routine!

    1. Ahhhhhhh thank you โค okay so this is how I do it…
      Morning:
      1. Cleanser
      2. Toner
      3. Essence
      4. Emulsion
      5. Moisturizer
      6. Eye cream
      7. SPF
      8. Face spray (optional)

      Evening:
      1. Oil cleanser
      2. Cleanser
      3. Toner
      4. Vitamin c + dark spots corrector
      WAIT 10 minutes
      5. BHA
      WAIT 10 minutes
      6. AHA (I only use this around 3 times a week though)
      7. Essence
      8. Emulsion
      9. Moisturizer
      10. Sleeping pack
      11. Spot treatment

I like waiting 10 minutes in between the actives cause I feel like that's enough time for the product to seep in and for it to be absorbed. H my skin.

As for the AHA whitehead liquid, it goes after the BHA! BHA penetrates deeper so put that on first. AHA only touches the surface of your skin so that's why you put it after ๐Ÿ™‚ as for the one step pimple pads, I used to use them before, I would use them only when I had breakouts. After I got into all the actives and stuff, I started using them only in the morning before my essence because that would be the only place they would fit. But usually when I have bad breakouts, I use only a few products such as toner, essence and moisturizer. I would put it after toner! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway hope this helped you out! Just let me know if you have any more concerns or questions! Thanks Raya โค๏ธ xx

  2. Thanks SO much for your comprehensive reply, KC! You’re such a skincare guru! Haha. I thought BHA wasn’t supposed to be applied everyday because of adverse reactions but I guess once your skin’s used to it, it won’t do any damage, noh? ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep up the amazing blog posts!

    1. Thank you, Raya!!! โค๏ธ and yup! I applied BHA three times a week at first and then I started applying more often once my skin got used to it. But there are times when I skip it cause I don’t feel the need ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Amazing! I really love your post ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m a newbie in Korean skincare products, so I’ve searched alot and finally I found your post โค
I'm interested in Cosrx aha bha treatment toner as well as Klairs vitamin C. Does the vitamin C brighten up your skin and fade dark spots? ๐Ÿ™‚
I saw some youtubers say that the aha/ bha products (including cleanser, toner, essence, etc.) cannot be used at the same time that the vitamin C be used. Ex: aha/ bha in the morning, vitamin C in the evening, and repeat. But you use both of them at the same time- your evening routine, so is it okay? just wondering ๐Ÿ™‚
I have oily combination skin (not sure about sensitive), I don't have alot of acne right now but I have some acne scars and dark spots from my previous acnes ): Do you think Klairs vitamin C can help me to fade these bad boys?? Or can you suggest any products for me please?! Thank you! ^__^

    1. Hiiiii!!!! Thank youuu โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ okay here’s what I think –
Since your problem is mostly oily skin/acne scars, I don’t think you need AHA. BHA would work better for you if ever. I use the cosrx one cause it goes deeper, cleans out my pores and helps with sebum production. AHA is more for whiteheads and such. And so BHA should be good.
As for using them at the same time, you can BUT you need to wait like 30 minutes in between. So that’s cleanse – toner – BHA (wait 30 minutes) – vitamin c (wait 30 minutes) and then the rest of your routine. And so it gets really hectic sometimes but just be patient! Also if you’re starting out, take it slowly – don’t just start using it everyday. Use it little by little!
For acne scars, I would recommend Klairs Vitamin C or something cheaper, LI Effector Serum from Its Skin. It has licorice and it’s really good!!! It really helped my skin and every review I read said the same thing ๐Ÿ™‚
So yeah! Hope this helped you out! Let me know if you need anything else! ๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธ

      1. Thank you so much for your reply. You’re so awesome!!! โค ๐Ÿ˜€
Can you believe that after I read your post last night I already create my own skincare routine today?? teehee
        Here is my creation :)))
        Morning:
        1. Cleanser: COSRX low PH good morning gel cleanser
        2. Toner: COSRX AHA/BHA clarifying treatment toner
        3. Essence: COSRX Galactomyces 95 whitening power essence (Have you tried this one? I heard this essence can brighten up skin complexion and fade acne scars. I want to try Klairs Vitamin C for this step but now it's summer so I'm afraid to use vitamin C since I usually do lots of activities outside. I may try vitamin C when the weather cools down)
        4. Moisturizer: COSRX oil-free ulta-moisturizing lotion
        5. SPF: Missha all around safe block waterproof sun milk SPF50+/PA++++ (I use this one everyday_ It's good!)

        Evening:
        1. Cleanser: Heimish all clean balm
        2. Cleanser: COSRX low PH good morning gel cleanser
        3. Exfoliate: Neogen bio-peel gauze peeling lemon (1-2 days/week)
        4. Toner: COSRX one step pimple clear pad (I saw that you used this on your other post, so I want to try it since it is toner as well as mild exfoliating on the day I don't use strong exfoliating one above)
        5. Sheet mask: I have many of them as a gift from friends โค (1-2days/week)
        6. Serum: LI Effector Serum from Its Skin (your recommendation. Yayy!)
        7. Moisturizer: COSRX oil-free ulta-moisturizing lotion

*This is only for my back acne due to the hot weather and my work-out (I sweat like a pig -_- )
        1. Cleanser: I now use PanOxyl benzoyl peroxide 10%. It helps clam down some of my big pimples and clear up smaller ones, but I'm afraid that it is too harsh for my skin. I may take turn to use COSRX low PH good morning gel cleanser on one day and PanOxyl 10% on another day and repeat. (Do you think it will be fine??) ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
        2. Toner: either COSRX one step pimple clear pad or COSRX AHA/BHA clarifying treatment toner
        3. Spot treatment: COSRX natural bha skin returning a-sol (I heard many people say this one is good for healing existing acne and clear them. But idk!!! Can you recommend any for me??)
        4. Spot treatment: COSRX acne pimple master patch (for big pimples)
        5. Moisturizer: COSRX oil-free ulta-moisturizing lotion

What do you think about my creation?? ๐Ÿ˜€ Can you help me to adjust/add/eliminate my steps or can you recommend anything for me PLEASE??!!! I plan to buy all of these products, they work for many people so hopefully they will work for me as well ^__^
I cannot wait for your reply! And sorry for my long post ๐Ÿ˜€
