What’s inside my everyday make-up kit? 🌸

So right before rehearsals, I made sure to take time to write this blog post for you guys! ✨

For today’s post, I decided to do something a little fun! I’m going to be showing you guys what I keep inside my everyday make-up kit. I bring this kit with me EVERYWHERE I go, whether it’s on a roadtrip, to a party or even just a trip to the mall. I cannot live without this make-up bag because it has everything I need 🙂

If you’re wondering what YOU should have in your make-up kit, maybe this post will help you out! Cause tbh, you can never carry around too much make-up 😉

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

But before we get into what’s inside my make-up kit, here are some quick tips for you guys!

FIRST, make sure to clean your make-up bag regularly. You do not want to have a dirty make-up bag!!! If your make-up bag is the leather or plastic type, be sure to wipe the inside at least every week. You can even use the same soap you use to clean your make-up brushes! Just put a little bit of brush soap on a piece of cloth and use it to clean the inside. On the other hand, if you have a make-up bag made out of cloth, make sure to hand wash it regularly. If later on you realize, the dirt and make-up stains aren’t coming off anymore, it’s best to let go of that make-up bag because it’s time to get a new one!

SECOND, keep your brushes and sponges in a separate bag inside your make-up bag. I personally like putting my brushes and sponges in a separate bag because I feel that this prevents them from becoming dirty. The inside of make-up bags can become pretty dirty because of the foundation marks, excess powder or lipstick stains and so I want to protect my brushes and sponges as much as possible since these are the tools that directly touch my face.

THIRD, try your best to prioritize what to keep in your make-up kit. You wouldn’t want it to be super filled up. It might break or worse, it might damage the products inside the kit. As I said a while ago, yes, you can never carry around too much make-up BUT make sure at least that these are products you need on a daily basis or if ever products you think you’ll need to use later on during the day.

Okay, time to check out what’s inside my make-up kit! 🙂

1. Make-up bag with lots of personality!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I personally love it when my make-up bag has a lot of personality. I either choose a bag with a crazy colorful pattern or a bag that has a quote written on it which I can relate to. In this case, it’s the latter. “TOUCH MY TOOLS AND DIE.” What could be better than that??? I just relate to this so much because I am so protective of my make-up. Like, if you touch my make-up without asking, I could literally kill you (half joke) And so for those of you who feel the same way, I suggest you get a make-up bag like this one! Also, if for some reason you lose your make-up bag *knocks on wood*, you’ll have an easier time finding it because of it’s distinct look.

I got this from beabi!!! I love this store!!! They have great organizers for literally EVERYTHING. I love organizing my stuff and so this is one of my favorite stores ❤

2. Blush Brush & Powder Brush Duo

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These are the only two brushes I keep in my make-up kit because these are the only two I need for my everyday make-up look: a blush brush & a powder brush. Whenever I feel a bit oily, I reapply some powder on my face. Also, I tend to get a bit pale towards the end of the day and so I got my blush brush so I can apply blush to keep me pink! Again, my everyday make-up look is simple and so these are the two trusty brushes I choose to keep with me in my make-up kit. Note: If you want to make sure they stay clean, be sure to put them in a separate kit inside your make-up bag (preferably a plastic kit so it’s easy to clean)

3. Beautyblender

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I’m not really a fan of the color pink (except for nude pink) but then I realized I needed some color in my life and so I decided to buy this hot pink beautyblender and voilà, color!!! Hahaha. I bring a beauty blender with me EVERYWHERE. This is just in case of emergency situations like, my make-up starts to become patchy or I didn’t blend it right or last minute, I need to reapply my concealer. This is one of those “just in case” make-up products but trust me, you will never regret bringing it with you cause one day, it could save you! Be sure to keep it clean though and so put it in the separate kit with your brushes! Best to protect all the tools that directly touch your face!

I got this from beautyMNL!

4. Concealers, concealers!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

During my everyday make-up routine, I apply concealer BUT SOMETIMES, the concealer either fades or becomes patchy and so it’s always best to bring your concealer around with you (especially if you have oily skin). I like to carry both concealers with me, the lighter shade (for under my eyes) and the other one for my blemishes.

So far, I’ve been loving these two concealers from the SAEM. The Cover Perfection Liquid Concealer is perfect for under my eyes because it is super moisturizing! My dark circles tend to be really dark cause I’m naturally pale and also my skin there gets dry and so I needed a concealer that would moisturize and cover my dark circles at the same time and so far this has been perfect! The other one has great coverage and so I use it for my blemishes and scars! It’s kind of similar to the NARS concealer and so if you wanna buy the NARS concealer but you’re on a tight budget, this would be the perfect substitute! For more info about these products, I will posting another review soon so stay tuned for that! 😉

You can buy these on Althea Korea!

5. Face Powder, a must!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Face powder is a big must for me! Especially if you have oily skin, like me. This allows your face to stay fresh and matte throughout the day! If your skin doesn’t work well with loose powder, you could always use pressed powder! Also, a lot of loose powder products come in big containers and so it’s kind of hassle to bring them around everywhere and so I bought this small powder container from beabi (again cause like I said, they have EVERYTHING) and refill it regularly so that I don’t have to bring the big powder container around. This makes it very convenient!

6. Blush!!!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I bring my blush with me everywhere I go. It’s a must. Like a MUST. Because one, I have oily skin and two, I’m very pale (naturally) and so if you put those together, basically the color on my face fades easily. And so I have to constantly reapply my blush. With this particular blush though, I have been reapplying it less because it actually stays longer on my face as compared to my other blush products. This is the Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush by the way in sensual.

Even though I don’t have to reapply this as often as before, I still bring it everywhere with me “just in case”.

7. Nudes & Color

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

One nude lipstick, one colored lipstick, that’s how I roll. I’m a very indecisive girl and so sometimes when I’m in a rush, I just grab my nude lipstick and head out the door. It’s my go-to shade because it’s simple and classy and so I ALWAYS make sure I have it with me. But then again, it’s great to have some color on and so along with my nude lisptick, I always make sure to have a different shade with me just to spice things up a bit. And for emergency purposes! Let’s say last minute I decide to go to a party or I have a last minute photoshoot and nude just won’t cut it, then I won’t have to worry because I got some color ready in my make-up kit! So that’s a tip for all of you out there! 😉

8. All for the Eyes: Mascara & Eyeliner

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Just a note! I don’t put mascara and eyeliner on everyday, just sometimes, but I keep these two in my make-up kit because you never know when you’ll need them! Sometimes in the middle of the day (while I’m out) I just decide, hey, I want to put on some mascara and so I go to the bathroom, bring out my trusty mascara (Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes) and apply! There is nothing wrong with adding a few extra make-up products into your make-up bag thinking you’ll need them later on! And so go ahead and toss that eyeliner and mascara in, you might just thank yourself later!

9. Eyebrow pencil/brush!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I have to admit that eyebrow make-up is a must for me. As you can see it looks very used… that’s because I use this every single day. And I always like to keep it inside my make-up kit, just in case! This is the K-Palette long lasting eyebrow powder. This is my ultimate fave because it pretty much lasts the whole day. I just like bringing it around with me because it makes me feel secure hahaha as I’ve said before, eyebrow make-up is a big thing for me and so I gotta have this in my make-up bag!

You can get this in the Beauty Bar!!!

10. YES LIP BALM!!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Okay. I cannot stress how much this has changed my life. I cannot go ANYWHERE without lip balm. Before I leave the house, I always make sure I have this because UGH I can’t live without it. Sadly, my lips get chapped super easily, I guess it’s cause I’m dehydrated all the time (and so drink water guys!!!) and so lip balm is an absolute must.

This is actually my favorite one right now. It’s not even just lip balm. You can use it for burns, insect bites, wounds. It’s AMAZING. It’s made from Papaya!!!! And so it super moisturizes my lips. The thing is, it’s only available in Australia and so if you have friends or family members who are going there soon, be sure to tell them to get this for you! It’s SUPER affordable 😉

11. Oil Blotting Paper

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Shoutout to all of you guys who have oily skin! This is a must for all of us. I do not know how I could last one day without this. Cause normal tissue just won’t cut it hahaha I tend to get oily after a few hours and so I need to use these daily! I use around 2 sheets a day or more especially if it’s really hot (and we’re in the Philippines and that’s pretty often). The good thing is that there are so many different kinds for different skin types and they are pretty much affordable everywhere.

I got this one at Watsons! It’s available in every branch and so no worries! I suggest that this be an important product inside your make-up bag because you wouldn’t want to spend the whole day with a shiny face plus it can also go into your pores and give you pimples!!!

12. Cleansing Wipes!!!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

These cleansing wipes are good for a lot of things! They can be used to wipe make-up off your face or clean your hands or for sanitary purposes and so it’s always great to have these inside your bag! It’s important to keep your face and hands as clean as possible and this helps with that. Also, there are many different kinds such as moisturizing wipes, cleansing wipes, baby wipes, etc! And so get the kind that you think you’ll need the most!

Always remember to stay clean that way your skin stays healthy and glowing! I bought these wipes from Miniso (which is like a Daiso-but a bit better hahaha) They sell many things from power banks to face masks! And their products are all affordable and so check them out!

TADAAAAAAA! That’s what’s inside leadiiinglady’s everyday make-up kit!!! Also, I added the links where you can buy some of these products so be sure to check them out! Hope this helped you guys in putting together your make-up kit! 🙂 Super enjoyed writing this post for you guys! ✨

Battle of the Acne Patches

Another Battle of the ____ post! This is the Battle of the Acne Patches!

This (acne) has been a problem for me my entire life. I cannot stress how much this has affected me while growing up. It affected my confidence and the way I viewed myself. There were times when I tried to cover them with make-up or refused to leave the house. It was crazy. Over the years though, I have learned to deal with it and accept it. I feel better now and my skin has got better but I still get these problems every now and then which is completely normal. But I know now how to take care of it and myself. One of the ways I learned how was through ACNE PATCHES.

I only recently discovered this last year while I was researching on ways to cure acne. The first acne patch I actually discovered was COSRX (since it was a best seller). I loved it! Since then I have been trying out different acne patches to see how each one works.

For this post, I will be showing you 4 different brands of acne patches: 2 non-medicated & 2 medicated! I will also be using my regular criteria and so that’s PRICE, PACKAGING & EFFECT. Hopefully through this review, you find the right acne patch for you!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I read that these were one of the first acne patches ever. These are water-based, stick-on hydrocolloid dressing tapes that work to take out all the bacteria out of the pimple. This leaves it flat and less red. As you can see in the picture below, these acne patches are a bit thick and yellow (as compared to cosrx you’ll see later). This made it harder for them to stay on. In the morning, I would notice that they would already be coming off. So I would say that the stickiness isn’t that great when it comes to Nexcare Acne Patches.

When it comes to what it’s supposed to do, it does its job. But it takes 2-3 days to completely get rid of the pimple (for normal-sized ones). Again, hydrocolloid acne patches work to “suck out all the gunk and bacteria” from the pimple allowing it to heal faster. That being said, these kind of patches don’t work on cysts. They only work on pimples that have come to head. And so just a note: don’t waste these patches on cysts or else you’ll be running out of these very quickly! This comes in two different sizes!

Price: 6/10 (300+ pesos for 18 pieces???)

Packaging: 9/10 (easy to take of the plastic)

Effect: 7/10 (could be better)

I bought this on yesstyle.com for P339! But you can buy this at drugstores as well!

2. COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is another brand of non-medicated acne patches. This was and is still a bestseller in many online beauty shops so listen up people cause this thing works magic.

This is the first ever acne patch I got! When I first tried it, I was disappointed because it wasn’t working… later on I found out it wasn’t because of the product, it was because of me. I was doing it wrong!!!! When it comes to acne patches, you should put them on right away after cleansing your face! Yup, that’s right. Your face should be BARE! No essences, moisturizers or anything. This is because the acne patch works to absorb the bacteria and so when you put all these things, it’ll end up absorbing the other products, thus, it won’t make your acne better. After I realized I was doing it wrong, I decided to try again and this time IT WORKED!

Compared to Nexcare, you’ll see that the COSRX acne patches are thinner and “whiter”. This is my faveeee because it really does it’s job! I put one on at night and when I wake up, I notice that the middle part is all white (this is all the bacteria and gunk). I take it off and the pimple is flat and less red! Also what I love about this is that it really stays still! I don’t have to worry about it coming off during the night! Also, they come in 3 different sizes which makes it really convenient!

Price: 10/10 (P180 for 1 pack – 24 pieces)

Packaging: 10/10

Effect: 9/10 (doesn’t work on cysts)

I bought this on beautymnl.com for P180! You can buy this in almost any online korean instagram shop! 🙂

3. Mentholatum Acnes Acne Patch

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is a medicated acne patch! Meaning, this inhibits the growth of bacteria and works to heal the pimple. These patches are a little bit thicker. I’m not sure if it’s because they put something inside the patches but yeah, they’re a bit thicker. These are the kind of acne patches you can put on cysts because they work to stop bacteria growth. When I put this on cysts, they grow smaller! What’s also a plus is that it prevents them from getting infected or being touched (cause you shouldn’t touch your pimples!!!).

As you can see, these patches are a bit more “opaque”. They do their job but what I don’t like about these patches are that if you’re the oily skin type, they tend to move around after you’ve worn them for a while or they start to peel off and so it becomes a hassle. Also, this prevents it from working properly. Just a note: don’t expect your cysts to flatten out right away, it takes time! It comes in two different sizes!

Price: 8/10 (P410 for 36 pieces)

Packaging: 10/10 (well protected and easy to come off plastic)

Effect: 8/10 (not the best medicated patch)

I bought this on yesstyle.com for P410 (36 pieces)!

4. A’PIEU NonCo Tea Tree Spot Patch

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is actually the thinnest patch of them all which is pretty surprising cause this is a medicated acne patch! What I love about it being thin though is that it looks almost invisible. Like one time I went out and I didn’t notice I still had one on because I couldn’t see it!!!! And so yeah, that’s a huge plus for those of you who want to work on the pimple but need to go out (in public hahaha)

This is my go-to medicated acne patch because it works well with my skin! It sticks so well!!!! Like I even have a hard time taking it off sometimes (but don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt your skin). Also, it works!!! I guess it’s cause there’s a hint of tea tree in these patches to help with inflammation and bacteria. But tea tree may not work for everyone so try it out first! Also, it takes time to heal pimples esp cysts! But it works!

This acne patch comes in two sizes! And I got 10 packs (10 pieces each) for P455! That’s 100 pieces for that price and so what a steal!!!

Price: 10/10

Packaging: 10/10 (it’s easy to come off the plastic and it’s well protected)

Effect: 9/10 (it doesn’t get rid of the pimple overnight but it helps make it better – it just takes time)

I bought this for P455 on yesstyle.com! Get it now cause it’s a steal!!!! 🙂

So that’s all for my acne patch review!!!!!!! Hope this helped you guys out! 🙂 Just comment if you guys have any concerns or questions! 🙂

Battle of the Moisturizers: Part I

Here I have another skincare post for you guys! 🙂 I will be talking about 4 different moisturizers: 2 oil-free moisturizers & 2 cream moisturizers. I titled this post “Part I” because I will be reviewing many more different kinds/types/brands in the future!

The 4 moisturizers I chose for this post are as follows: Céleteque Facial Moisturizer (with Triple Moisturizing System), COSRX Aloe Vera Oil-Free Moisture Cream, Etude House True Relief Moist Cream & COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream.

I chose these four moisturizers because I feel that I have been using them long enough to be able to review them. You might be wondering though… “Why does she have so amny moisturizers???” Well, it’s cause it took me a long while to find the right one. My skin is the combination type and so some areas are dry and some are oily. This really frustrates me because it’s like??? What am I supposed to use then??? I’ll put one kind on my t-zone and another kind on the rest of my face??? Isn’t that a hassle? Yeah, it is when you think about it. Buuuuut I’m really happy because I found the right one for me! And therefore, I don’t need to go through that hassle. (I’ll tell you later which one it or better yet, “they” are 😉

Anyway, first, let’s talk about the importance of moisturizers. I’m sure you’ve heard that when it comes to putting together a simple skincare routine, only 3 steps are really necessary: Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize. Those are the three basic steps in any skincare routine. And so is moisturizing your skin really important? The answer is YES. Not only does a moisturizer moisturize or hydrate your skin, it also somehow acts as a protective barrier for your skin as it holds water. Moisturizers are also very very important to those who have dry or sensitive skin- it soothes & improves your complexion. It gives your skin the glow it deserves. I mean, who wouldn’t want glowy beautiful skin? And so next time you think about skipping the moisturizer step in your daily skincare routine cause you’re lazy or in a rush, don’t. Or you’ll regret it later. For sure. Also, I’d like to add a short note on being sanitary when it comes to moisturizers especially moisturizers that come in a tub. Many moisturizers like that nowadays come with a spatula. USE THE SPATULA. That way it won’t get contaminated. Don’t forget that the dirtiest part of your body are your fingers. Once dirt/bacteria gets into that tub, it’ll be hard getting it out.

Mmmm but hey, are you having a hard time picking the right moisturizer for you? Maybe this post will help! These 4 moisturizers are very accessible and affordable so no need to worry!

By the way, I’m using the same criteria I used for the oil/water cleansers post! Packaging,, Effectiveness (if it really does what it says it does), Moisturizing skills and Price.

Let’s get to the review! I’ll start off with the Oil-free gel like moisturizers!

***Recommended for Oily skin/Sensitive skin types***

1. Céleteque Facial Moisturizer with Triple Moisturizing System

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is a water-based oil-free moisturizer! This is a very gentle brand and so it’s good for all of you who have sensitive skin. Since this is an oil-free and water-based moisturizer, it’s best for oily type skin because it’s not cream-based and so it moisturizes your skin but doesn’t “over moisturize” it.

This moisturizer in particular is very “wet” when you squeeze it out of the bottle, meaning it’s very watery and slippery (as you can see in the photo below)

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

When I took this picture, it was actually dripping down my hand. When spread, it takes a while to be absorbed. My skin felt very wet and slippery until it was fully absorbed which took a pretty long time. Just a note: If you were to use this moisturizer before putting on make-up, you should wait a few minutes or else, your foundation would slip and slide hahaha

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is what it looked like after I spread the product all over my hand. As you can see, it’s very wet and shiny and so like I said, give it time to be absorbed. I would recommend this moisturizer to those with oily/sensitive skin. It may look a bit wet but once it’s absorbed, it really does moisturize the skin. For me, I personally just don’t like how wet it feels on my skin and so this isn’t my go-to moisturizer but hey, if it works for you, it works for you!

Packaging: 8/10

Effectiveness: 7/10

Moisturizing skills: 8/10

Price: 10/10

You can get this in PCX for P231!

2. COSRX Aloe Vera Oil-free Moisture Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is another Oil-free moisture cream that I really like. This is my go-to oil-free moisture cream because it isn’t too watery but isn’t “over-moisturizing” either. Plus the Aloe Vera in this product works to soothe the skin especially if it’s irritated or red. And I can tell you it does just that!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

As you can see, this moisturizer isn’t as watery as the first. When I put it on my hand, it wasn’t dripping, it stayed put. And so I’d describe this as more of a gel-type moisturizer.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Compared to the first moisturizer I tested, this was absorbed much faster thus it isn’t as shiny as you can see in the photo above. I recommend this moisturizer to those of you who have oily/sensitive skin. This product really soothes irritated skin and so when I’m having bad breakouts, this is my go-to moisturizer. I also use this as my regular morning moisturizer because it’s easily absorbed and therfore I don’t have to wait long until I can apply my make-up.

Packaging: 7/10 (tubs are hard to keep sanitary)

Effectiveness: 9/10

Moisturizing skills: 8.5/10

Price: 8/10 (it’s a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it)

You can buy this on the COSRX website, skincarecurator.com or from other instagram stores for varied prices that sell kbeauty products!

Let’s move on to the cream based moisturizers!

*** Recommended for those with dry/sensitive/combination skin types***

3. Etude House True Relief Moist Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is a cream-based moisturizing cream. I bought this last year because my skin was getting really dry for some strange reason and it got to the point when I just wanted to peel everything off and so I rushed to look for most moisturizing cream I could find and this was the one I ended up buying. Note: these kinds of moisturizers are very good for people with dry skin because it gives enough moisture to get rid of the dry patches/ares on your face.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

As you can see from the photo above, it is very thick, almost like a paste. I was kind of hesitant to put this on my whole face especially my t-zone because of the thickness. I was afraid it would clog my pores and so I decided to only put it on my dry patches.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

It worked to hydrate those dry patches but I wouldn’t say this is a miracle moisturizer- meaning, it’s a moisturizer I wouldn’t mind replacing (which I did). I just felt that it was too heavy on my skin and not the good kind of heavy. Yeah, it moisturized my dry patches but if there were a better option (which I know there is), I would let go of this one for sure.

Packaging: 7/10 (tubs are hard to keep sanitary)

Effectiveness: 7/10 (it moisturizes but clogs pores)

Moisturizing skills: 8.5/10

Price: 6/10 (super expensive and not super worth it if you ask me)

You can buy this at Etude House for P1,348!

4. COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is actually what I replaced True Relief with. I wasn’t satisfied with it (True Relief) and I knew there was something better and so I did some research and I found this. And to be honest, I am sooo happy I did! Like the previous moisturzer, this is a cream-based one. But the consistency is different compared to True Relief.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

It’s kind of hard to explain the consistency of this product. It’s much stickier compared to the other one but less thick. When I apply it on my face, it feels a bit weird at first because of the stickiness but after a while, the feeling goes away. That’s what I like about this moisturizer. It seems thick and really moisturizes your skin but it’s very lightweight.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is the kind of thick moisturizer that I am not afraid to use all over my face. I actually use this every night (It’s a bit to heavy to use during the day). When I wake up, my skin feels very hydrated and moisturized (after applying this, I always put on my sleeping pack).

The two main ingredients in this product that I really think are stellar are honey and ceramide. Honey really works to moisturize and soothe my skin while ceramide works to keep the moisture locked in as well as the skin firm and healthy. I would recommend this moisturizer for those with dry/combination/sensitive skin. This has caused me no breakouts whatsoever. It’s very gentle and it really does its job!

Packaging: 7/10 (tubs are hard to keep sanitary)

Effectiveness: 10/10 (YAS)

Moisturizing skills: 10/10

Price: 8/10 (not the best price but 100% worth it)

You can buy this on the COSRX website, skincarecurator.com or from other instagram stores for varied prices that sell kbeauty products!

Well there you have it! 4 different moisturizers that could work for you and your skin type! Don’t forget to moisturize every morning and night guys! Your skin will thank you later 😉

I hope this was able to help you guys a bit! 🙂

9 Lipstick Shades & How to Rock ‘Em 💄

If I could choose only one make-up product to have with me on a deserted island, it would be my trusty little lipstick.

I honestly don’t know how I could go a day without wearing any! Even on a “no make-up” day, I make sure I’ve got some lipstick on. I guess it’s cause, one, I’m really pale and so if I don’t wear lipstick, I look dead and two, I just love how lipstick color can affect/change your whole look just like that.

For this post, I am going to be showing you guys 9 different shades of lipstick and how to to rock ’em! Note: My make-up for this whole post is an ‘everyday make-up’ look and so I kept everything natural and light. I chose to do everyday make-up because I want to show you guys that you can wear these shades any time of the day! I mean, if you can work it, why not? Also, I think it’s fun experimenting with different colored lipsticks everyday without needing your face to be fully made with make-up. Plus, I’m saving the full on make-up look for another post coming soon 😉

BUT before we get to the make-up part, let’s first talk about lip care because I think this is very important.

I grew up with naturally chapped lips (so sad). I think it’s because I never drank enough water? And so ya’ll better make sure you hydrate to have nice soft lips. Anyway because of that, it’s always a challenge for me to wear lipstick, especially matte ones cause there are times when my lips are so dry and so they look terrible (ugh it’s so frustrating).

I, later on, realized that I needed to take special care of my lips considering the problems I have. So this is what I started to do:

Drinking lots of water actually makes your lips look so much better. When you’re hydrated, your lips won’t be chapped. Try it! I swear it works!

I exfoliate my lips at least three times a week with SARA HAPP Brown Sugar Lip Scrub. This helps me get rid of the dry skin and keeps my lips super smooth!

Do you know what I hate? When I look for my lip balm in my bag and I realize I’ve forgotten it. It’s the worst feeling when I have to bear with chapped lips the whole day! When this happens, I usually go to the supermarket to find cheap lip balm because I cannot. I repeat, I CANNOT spend a whole day with chapped lips. And so keep this in your everyday make-up bag! Bring lip balm everywhere you go!!!

For my lip balm, I use Papaw! It’s from Australia. And it’s really affordable! When I went to Australia, I made sure to buy a lot! What makes it great is that it’s actually not just lip balm, you can use it to treat different things but the thing is it really moisturizes my lips and so I use it as my trusty balm.

I got into this recently actually. About 6 months ago, I heard about Laneige and how everyone loved it. I saw this lip product and I was like… What is this??? I decided to buy it because of my chapped lips problem and voila it has done wonders for me!!! I put it on at night and I wake up with smooth, soft, moisturized lips! This Lip Sleeping Pack is a bit pricey but for all of you who suffer with the same problem I do, it is SO worth it.

Okay, now that we’re done with lip care, we can move on to the main feature of this post.

Here are 9 lipstick shades & how to rock each one!

I am nude girl. I know that sounds weird but it’s true, for lipsticks at least.

Nude colors are my go-to lipstick shades. When I’m lazy to go through my lipstick collection, I just grab a nude lippie and head out the door! Recently, my fave has been NYX Soft Matte Cream in LONDON which is why I am going to start with this one!

NYX Soft Matte Cream in LONDON

As you can see, it looks like it’s been used a lot… which it has tbh. Like I said, this is my go-to lipstick. Since I’m pretty fair, nude shades look a bit more saturated on me which I really like. Even if I go with a nude shade, the color still pops.

For this, I went with a natural look. I used light pink & brown eyeshadow and topped it off with some super light gold. For my blush, I used a light orange/peach tone to keep the look simple and sweet

Make-up used: Foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte (120), Concealer – Revlon Colorstay (fair), Eyebrows – K-Palette Eyebrow Powder (Light Brown), Eyeliner – Revlon Colorstay (black), Mascara – Tarte Lights Camera Lashes, Eyeshadow – Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette & Juvia Nubian 2 Palette, Blush – Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush (blissful), Lipstick – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (London)

TARTEIST Glossy Lip Paint in OBVI

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

This is one of my other go-to nude lipsticks!!! This is more of a gloss though and so it doesn’t have a matte finish. I personally prefer matte but sometimes, I like to play around a bit and so this is my go-to glossy lip paint cause it’s very light pink and natural. This is Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in shade OBVI!

For this look, I stuck to the natural everyday make-up look. Compared to the blush I used for the first look, I used one that’s more pink since my lips have a pinkier shade. As for the eyes, I kept it simple again with pink and rose shades from the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette.

***Note: I forgot to swatch NYX and I only started swatching now… hence the lack of this kind of picture above hahaha***

 Colourpop Lippe Stix in BRINK

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

When the Colourpop hype first started, this was the first thing I bought. I really like how it really saturates my lips but the pink is still pretty light. And it’s not drying!!! So that’s a plus! It’s not too glossy and not too matte.

Again, my make-up is very light. I like the “no-makeup make-up look” whenever I’m wearing nude/light pink lipstick. It just seems very simple and classy to me. For my everyday look, I tend to focus on my brows, cheeks and lashes, that way, I never look “too made up”.

I’m not usually a ‘color’ type of girl. I get shy to pull off certain shades hahaha I would always go with some nude lipstick BUT when I’m in the mood to play around and try out different colors, I always have a fun time doing it! For this, I chose 3 shades: super pink, lavender and dark orange!

JEFFREE STAR Velour Liquid Lipstick in DOLL PARTS

This is some poppin’ pink liquid lipstick… as in Katy Perry POPPIN’. Hahaha since my skin is pretty fair, this color really pops! And so this is a lipstick I would wear if I were feeling tired but still wanna look alive and playful!

For this look, I decided to play around a bit! For my eyes, I used my Morphe 35W palette. I used pink shades! But still kept it light! For my blush, I used Makeup Revolution’s Sugar n’ Spice Blush palette because I wanted my blush to compliment my lips and so I chose the pinkest shade! Be careful not to overdo it though! You can go all pink without overdoing your whole look!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in REQUIEM

Talk about bringing out the purple!!! This liquid lipstick is crazy purple!!! It was my first time to try it and a purple lippie in general and so I was surprised at how purple it was. I don’t think I’ll be using this much though because purple shades don’t really look good on me. I don’t know if it’s cause I’m light or pale? They just make me look really down and ‘faded’. But anyway, I still had fun doing this look! Also just a note: this lipstick is truly everlasting. It took me forever to wipe it all off. Even when I was wiping it off my arm, it took so much effort!! And so kudos to you Kat Von D, it is truly everlasting.

For this look, I went with a rosier shade of pink/purple for my eyes. As for my blush, I went to purple side to match my lips but I still kept it light! Again, for this post, I want to showcase looks that can be used everyday and so most of my make-up looks here are very natural and light.

Kylie Mini Matte Liquid Lipstick in GINGER

I don’t really do dark shades but this seems to really work for me. At first I was afraid (I was petrified… lol jk ok bye) that it wouldn’t look good on me cause it’s kinda dark but when I put it on, I saw that it had a nice dark orange shade.

For this look, I used Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 Palette. It has a super nice shade of orange that I wanted to try out. And so this was the perfect time to do so! Again, I kept it light and classy but I darkened my eyeliner and mascara just a bit for this look. Also, I kept my cheeks light and peach!

Usually when I wear dark shades like this one, I let my lips do all the talking, meaning, I don’t wear much face make-up and instead focus on the lips and let them shine!

Now we move on to the shades I like to call, “night time, party time”! These are the shades I would only wear at night or at a party or a concert or an event! BUT if you guys prefer to wear these colors during the day then go ahead and rock ’em! It’s just that for me, these colors are a bit too ‘loud’ and so I’m shy to wear them like to the mall or something hahaha

For these last few looks, I darkened my eyes a bit more so that I could get into that “night time, party time” mood! My make-up is still pretty light, like my face isn’t fully made and so this could actually still be a “day thing” if it works for you!

Colourpop Ultra Metallic in MAN EATER

I LOVE THIS. I don’t wear it all the time but I freaking love this!!! I never thought I would like wearing something shiny and glittery but I tried it one time for my Thanksgiving dinner and I really liked how it looked. At first you may think that it may look “too much” but it’s actually really subtle and sweet-looking. Also, it is not drying at all! This is coming from a girl who has dry lips… and this is coloupop. And so that means something! And look at that glow!!!

For this look, I kept it natural still. Just added a bit of darker eyeliner and more mascara. I used my LORAC Pro Palette for this look and some peach color for blush.

Lips as red as rose.

That’s how I would describe this liquid lipstick. I like the color red but I prefer dark red tbh. When it comes to bright red, I tend to stay away because I don’t feel super comfortable wearing it yet hahaha unless I’m going out at night (thus it’s in this group). I am super jealous of those people who can rock red lips any time of the day.

I decided to get this shade because I wanted to try it out, wearing really red lipstick. It’s still something I’m getting used to but for sure I am enjoying the “experimentation process” with the different looks and all. For this, I added a little red on my cheeks and I made my eye shadow darker, almost a smokey eye but not quite because again, I’m trying to keep it as natural as possible.

Last but definitely not the least, the darkest shade of them all: NYX Lingerie in Beauty Mark!

Lately, these really dark shades have been the “in thing”. Even the color black!!! Who knew that black would eventually become a lipstick color??? Hahaha I haven’t tried it yet but maybe soon, I will, just for fun! For this look, instead of focusing on the cheeks, I focused on my eyes. I did a bit of a smokey eye look but kept it simple with light brown, dark brown and gold shades. When it comes to SUPER dark colors, I make sure to add a bit more make-up on my face so that I don’t look like I’m “over-doing” it with my lipstick but hey, that’s just me.

There you have it! 9 lipstick shades and how to rock ’em! But before I end my post, here are a few more tips for you guys: one, always moisturize your lips before wearing any matte lipstick especially when it comes to Colourpop and Kylie cause these liquid lipsticks are very drying! Two, when in doubt, go nude! Nude lipsticks go with absolutely anything and so if you’re feeling lazy or you’re just in your sweats heading to the mall, go nude. Three, confidence is key to rocking great lipstick shades! Wear whatever shade you want, whenever you want! 💖

The Everyday “I do’s”

Valentine’s Day.

For some people this is a day they look forward to because it’s a day they get to share with a loved one while for others, this is a day they dread because it reminds them that they’re single or in other words, “forever alone”.

For some it’s filled with flower bouquets, chocolates and fancy dinners while for others it’s filled with chick flicks alone in bed, a table for one and chocolates bought for oneself.

Well, this post is for everyone out there. Whether you’re married, in a complicated relationship, single or dating.

Here, I share with you some random thoughts, poems, articles, writings about different kinds of love. Note: I’m not much of a writer and so this is a big step out “into the light” for me. And yes, they’re quite, personal, I know. But I believe these are thoughts and feelings that need to be shared because who knows? You might have felt the same way too.

And so I give you a glimpse into my little world of love that has brought both pleasure & pain.

What Love Feels Like

I wonder what love feels like.

I wonder how it feels

To think about someone

To have someone greet you goodmorning and goodnight

To have someone hold your hand

To hear someone say ‘I miss you’

To have someone be your plus one

To have someone you can spoil

To have someone you can cuddle with

To have someone you can call your ‘partner’.

I wonder how it feels to have someone who won’t make you second guess if you’re pretty enough, good enough or smart enough to be loved.

But hey, I’d like to think I am already loved.

Loved by my own self.

How about you?

I Fell in Love with Him like How You Learn to Ride a Bike

I fell in love with him like how you learn to ride bike.

At first, you start slow. You’re extra careful because even with the training wheels, you feel that at any moment you could fall. You’re wearing a helmet and those elbow and knee pads for extra safety just in case you lose control or take a wrong turn. And you make sure your dad is always beside you, ready to catch you when you fall.

When you start getting the hang of things, you ask your dad to watch you from a distance. You start peddling a little faster knowing that the helmet and pads will protect you. Hell, you even have training wheels and so you know balancing won’t be a problem.

Then, you get a little more confident. You ask your dad to take off the training wheels. First, you start out slow and you notice it’s a little harder without them, but you take a chance and ride it out. You fall a few times but you realize that it doesn’t hurt so bad. You start to peddle faster and you learn that it actually makes balancing a lot easier. You now feel the wind through your hair and enjoy the feeling.

Now, you don’t bother to put on your helmet or your knee pads. You run out the door, grab your bike and just go. Because you’re not afraid. In fact, you’re brave. Brave to the point that you’ve become reckless. You jump head first because you’re so willing to take the risk. And so when you do, you give it your all and just fall.

And that’s exactly what I did. I just fell.

I fell for you.

How Do I Say ‘I love you’

How do I say I love you without lifetime guarantee no mention of forever between you and me?

How do I say I need you, all your flaws all your fears?

How do I say please stay ’til morning? Please don’t disappear.

What do I say when what I feel for you is more than what I had planned?

That I bravely crossed the line and there’s no more going back

What if this is what its come to taking chances, taking falls?

When I say I love you, will you answer my call?

“I Hate You” I said.

I’m nothing more than your ‘right now’.

Is that all I’m worth?

Should I dare go for you ‘forever’?

Or maybe it’s just pointless.

And so I’ll tell you that I hate you

I hate how happy you make me with just a simple “hello”.

I hate how I catch you staring at me, smiling.

I hate how you tell me to take care of myself.

I hate how perfect it feels when we’re together.

I hate how I feel pain and you feel nothing.

I hate how I imagine a future with you, a future I may never even be part of.

But most of all, I hate how I can’t hate you.

I hate how I love you too much that it kills me everyday.

It’s not fair. It will never be fair. And so maybe I should just accept it.

Because loving you is all I’ll ever know.

Lover or Career?

This has been a reason for conflict among couples for ages.

Let’s say you want to travel abroad to pursue your dream but your partner has no plans of going abroad.

So what do you do? Do you choose to go abroad to pursue your career or do you stay, for him/her?

Well, first of all, a partner who really cares about you should be a source of inspiration, not a distraction. He/she should make you want to fulfill your dreams, not give them up.

Secondly, he/she shouldn’t make you dread the days ’til you leave but instead make you look forward to it. This isn’t easy, but if he/she really loves you, he/she would make every day count instead of making you feel bad until you have to get on that plane and go.

Third, a partner who really loves you should remind you to stay on track and to keep in line with your goals. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have someone who says “Baby, don’t forget about your workshop today.” or “Hey, I found this class you could take that could help you when you’re studying abroad.” or “Babe, don’t forget to send your application today!” Those are the makings of a great boyfriend/girlfriend and not just that but a partner for life. He/She’s showing you that he/she wants you to succeed even if it’s hard for her/him to see you go.

Fourth, a partner who really loves you would never ever ever ever ask you to stay for him/her. Why? Because your partner should know just how bad you want this, how bad you want to get out there to fulfill your dreams and at the same time.

Honestly, no matter what, you should always put yourself and your dreams first because you only get one shot. And when it’s time for your partner to take his/her own shot, you’ll be there too.

So what should you choose, lover or career? Well, I say… why not both? I believe that if you really want something, you’ll work for it. And that when two people really love each other, they’ll always find a way, even when they’re 5896539238901 miles apart.

This is How I’ll Love You

I am not perfect.

Please don’t expect me to be.

I will make mistakes. I will do stupid things that I will regret the morning after. I will be stubborn and reckless and mean. I will forget the things you say and I will always say I’m right.

But if there’s one thing I can do, it’s to promise to love you with all that I am.

I promise to greet you every morning and every night.

I promise to say sorry (eventually) after every fight.

I promise to support you in all your endeavors, even if it means time taken away from me.

I promise to always tell you about my day and to ask you about yours.

I promise to sing to you and dance with you when you ask me to (even if I end up looking awkward and silly).

I promise to listen to all your rants & problems even when you’re whiney.

I promise to make up with you and never let a fight last too long.

I promise to go on all kinds of adventures with you, even if it’s just a trip to the nearest Burger King.

I promise to kiss all your tears away when you feel like you’re breaking down.

I promise to appreciate you, all your efforts, all your acts of love.

I promise to keep you on track when you’re falling behind, even if it means pushing you to your limits.

I promise to never forget you, even if one day, we may have to go our separate ways. *knocks on wood*

Cause that’s what true love is, that despite everything, despite time, distance and circumstance, you still choose to love the person, no matter what.

A Little More Time

All I need is just a little more time

A little more time to hold you

Cause even if I have a lifetime

Forever doesn’t even seem long enough

And all I ask is just a little more time

A little more time to love you

The Everyday “I Do’s”

Love is about the everyday ‘I do’s’.

It’s not “make a choice now, go with the flow forever”.

Love is about choosing your person everyday.

Because love isn’t perfect.

Love isn’t some fairytale story about true love that lasts forever.

You work hard for real love.

Love isn’t about the choice you made but the choices you make everyday.

Because love has it’s good days and it’s bad days.

During the bad days, you may feel like giving up.

Like moving on to someone else would make things easier.

Or ending everything would put your stress to rest.

If you really love your person and want the relationship to work, then choose you person.

Every single damn day.

Even on the bad days when you don’t feel the spark anymore or you don’t feel excitement anymore.

Because I swear if it’s real love, it’s there.

It will always be there.

You just have to open your eyes and see it.

Life gets in the way all the time but that doesn’t give you a reason to quit.

Because when you truly love someone, it isn’t just for a week or just a day,

it’s forever.

Life is hard.

Sometimes, life makes you want to close up your heart and be selfish.

But whatever you do, don’t.

Always always choose to love.

Hope you enjoyed my short love post 💕 And I hope you guys are all having a great Valentine’s day! (Even if you’re one of those who call this day ‘Single- Awareness Day’ 😉 cause hey, I’ve been there)

Don’t forget to spread the love! 💘

Leadiiinglady Travels: San Felipe, Zambales

Presenting, my first LL (leadiiinglady) Travels post! Enjoy 💜

Last January 28, I went on a day trip to San Felipe, Zambales with my best friend, Liz & my boyfriend, Boo.

Before that, Boo told me that he saw something on Facebook about going to Zambales for tree planting & meeting the tribes. It was from a page called MAD Travel PH – Tribes, Treks & Islands. I checked it out and saw that they had different kinds of packages. Some included an overnight stay in Circle Hostel, others included island hopping. But because of our busy schedules,we decided to go with the day trip package.

(Liz- Boo- Me) My little adventure crew!

For this post, I will be telling you all about our trip to Zambales: our time with the Aetas and the adventures in between. Note: all pictures were taken and edited by me (except for the ones I’m in of course, they were taken by Boo) Ty btw to Liz and Boo for being the best models and greatest company ❤

We all met up and left Manila at 3am. It takes you around 4 hours to get there and we needed to be at the Circle Hostel, Zambales by 7:15 and so we decided to leave at that time.

Luckily it wasn’t that traffic and so we got there at exactly 7am.

Sign in front of Circle Hostel!

I wasn’t able to take a picture inside so the sign will have to do. Circle Hostel pretty much looks like a giant hut. It is very quaint and the wood’s been painted with many different colors. I wasn’t able to explore the second floor and so I’ll tell you guys a bit about the first floor. The first floor is divided into two parts: the eating area and the sleeping & shower area. In the eating area, there are wooden tables and chairs to sit on. The sleeping quarters on the other hand are filled with hammocks to sleep on that they just fold up during the day time. It was pretty interesting. I haven’t seen anything like that before and so for sure, I’ll come back to experience an overnight stay here.

To get to the grounds where the trek started, we had to take a jeep and a car. I chose to ride the jeep. I love riding jeepneys for some reason! Swear. It was a pretty long ride, around 20-30 minutes before we got to the area where we would start the trek.

At first, it was mostly mud we were trekking on, surrounded by tall grassimg_6392img_6417

And then it became sand, a wide stretch of endless sand.

Hi Liz & Boo

Look at that view!

Say hello to some of our guides.

From the get go, I could already tell that this was going to be a difficult but BEAUTIFUL trek. Yeah, the sand was pretty deep and it was hard to keep walking (esp with barely any hours of sleep) but the scenery captivated me and made every hard step worth it.

Say hello to our four-legged friend (and Manong- who doesn’t seem amused 😞 hahaha)

The two were really excited for this picture with their new friend.

Throughout the trek we walked through sand, mud, and- water.

Note: If you decide to go on this trek, use either sandals, slippers or trekking shoes! Don’t use your nice rubber shoes because there is now way you can get through this trek without getting them super duper dirty.

After about an hour and a half of trekking, we all decided to take a dip. The water was so cold! It felt AMAZING. It was also crystal clear and so I really appreciated that (random fact about me: I don’t like dipping my feet when I can’t see what I’m stepping on hahaha)

Afterwards, we started on our trek again. BUT this time we got to ride on the carabao thingy which Lizelle really enjoyed, as you can see.

After 45 minutes, we finally got to our destination: the Aeta village.

*****Note: I wasn’t able to take a lot of pictures of the Aeta village because I chose to be interactive instead of behind the lens the whole time. I did take a few pictures though especially of the kids- they really enjoyed smiling for the camera.*****

When we got to the village, the people were very welcoming. They smiled at us as we passed by and the children were hiding behind the older ones wondering who we were but smiling nonetheless. (I think they were shy at the start but they eventually warmed up to us)

They served us ube chips and lemongrass tea for snacks. I don’t really eat ube but I decided to eat the chips out of courtesy and hey I actually really liked them! Also, they made it out of their local ube and so that’s pretty cool!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture of our lunch but for lunch they fed us fish, adobo, tinola and rice. I tried everything and they were all delicious. While we were eating, they kept asking me if I was okay, if the food was good and if I wanted more. They were very very very accommodating.

After lunch, we got to explore the village and the few activities they had. Some of us tried Archery with bows and arrows they made themselves while the others (including me) went to the classroom to interact with the children and read them books. We noticed that they would pick a random book and just skim through the pages. They didn’t understand the words. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at my Tagalog and so Boo decided to translate some books for them and the children enjoyed this very much.

Selfie with all the kids!

The children were very happy and friendly and they loved smiling for the camera! Click away for a better look!

After the activities, the chief toured us around the village showing us different planting grounds, trees and huts. It was great because we got to learn a lot about their livelihood. Afterwards, they told us that they prepared a short program for us. First, one of the elders danced their “courtship dance”, she even pulled a few boys from the group to dance with her. Later on, the children performed a dance that mimics the actions of different animals. We were all having fun because everyone was so funny and game. There was a point during one of the dances when Boo and I both got pulled in and at first I was SUPER SHY cause I don’t dance but then someone went “You’re doing it!” and I was like OMG??? And then there. I got confident hahaha. For the last dance, they made it a bit of a “competition”. They would give flower crowns to those who danced the best. I got one so that must mean something right??? I really had a great time 🙂

The next part of our adventure was tree planting! It’s the goal of the village as well as the people behind it (with Circle Hostel and Mad Travel PH) to save the rainforests in the Philippines. With the help of the indigenous tribes, they are working to plant as many trees as possible to benefit the land as well as the people who live in these areas. For this activity, we each brought with us two little trees to the tree planting grounds around 30 minutes away from the village.

This little one wanted to join us. She brought her own little tree with her!

This was on our way to the tree planting grounds.

This picture doesn’t give justice to this view.

One of my favorite photos from this trip 🙂

I have such beautiful friends 🙂 hahaha

I am very happy with my plants.

At the tree planting grounds.

Tree planting grounds/nursery

We were all assigned to do different things. Some of us worked on uprooting the bigger trees from the nursery and transferring them outside, others worked on fixing the canopy on top of the nursery while some even worked on cleaning and maintaining the nursery.

(Here is Boo trying to figure out how to cut some branches off a tree since we needed extra wood for the little trees’ support.)

Here are our last few pictures from the trip!

With the chief of the Aeta Village.

I loveeee this picture of some of the children!!

Playing with the water.

Another picture I really like 🙂

Afterwards, it was finally time to head home. As we were saying goodbye, the children smiled & waved and I couldn’t help but feel really happy that I got to spend the day with them. It’s the first time I’ve ever done something like this. (I’ve never met an indigenous tribe before) But for sure this experience will not be my last.

On our way back, we got to ride the carabao cart thingy again and for a while, I actually fell asleep. It was actually super comfortable!

After we got back to the town, we ended our adventure with a sunset by the beach.

Sunset by the beach to end the day.

All in all, this day was nothing short of wonderful. Never in a million years did I think I was going to be doing this. But now I’m thinking, why didn’t I do this sooner?

I’m just really glad I have someone who likes taking me on adventures to new places. (Hi Boo!)

Stay tuned for my next post which is “love-themed” for Valentine’s Day! For those who are single, in a relationship, ‘it’s complicated’ and even married! 😉💖

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo your way & be a Princess for a day! 👸🏽👸🏻👸🏼

This is my favorite post so far.

Well, I’ve only made 5 posts so far but still hahaha…

Who here has always dreamed of being a Disney Princess? I’m sure a lot of you have!

What I love about my current job is that I get to live that dream every single weekend.

Short background.

Ever since I was a little girl, it’s always been my dream to be a Disney Princess. My mom told me that at two-years-old, I already started singing Disney songs. I sang ‘Part of Your World’ with a fork and even ‘Gaston’ with all the voices! And so she says it’s no surprise that I do what I do today.

Disney was a BIG PART of my childhood. And so when I got into Madison Events Inc. (check out their fb page!!!), you can just imagine how excited I was to finally live my dream of being a Disney Princess!!! Every weekend, I get to dress up as a different Disney Princess and every time it is still so magical.

I’ve been doing this for almost two years and I’ve never been happier. It’s come to a point when it isn’t even just about my dream anymore but about the childrens’ dreams. Seeing their eyes light up when I come into the room as their favorite Disney Princess makes this experience so much more fulfilling. It’s a blessing every single day 🙂

Throughout my journey as a Disney Princess, I’ve learned a few tips and tricks about that I would like to share with you all in this post today! It isn’t hard to be a princess, it just takes faith, trust, pixie dust and well, lots and lots of make-up!

***Note: I wasn’t able to use the costumes or wigs for my final look because all of them are owned by Madison Events and so I just made do with whatever I had at home hahaha***

Ariel is my personal favorite. I consider ‘The Little Mermaid’ one of the best Disney Princess movies ever and if you don’t agree with me, I will fight you. (Really). Ariel was one of the first Disney Princesses I’ve got to be for Madison Events. I remember trying on the costume for the first time and how it was just right for me. Tbh, I’ve stuck to Ariel ever since.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetFor this look, I chose to focus on blues and greens…yknow “mermaid colors” (look, my highighter is blue!!!) Also, I used a sort of reddish eyeshadow for my brows since she’s a redhead (but I didn’t have a red wig huhu). For my lips, I used Happy Skin x Disney Ariel lipstick! Always moisturize lips beforehand! (Note: For most of my performances, I use Happy Skin lipstick depending on the princess I’m playing)

Make-up used:

Foundation – NAKED Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector (Light- Medium)

Concealer – Etude House Big Puff Concealer (Sand)

Setting Powder – RCMA Powder

Blush – Happy Skin Enchanted Rose Blush (Peach)

Contour – Tony Moly Contour Stick (darkest shade)

Highlight: Wet n Wild Rainbow Highlighter

Eyeshadow – Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette & NYX

Mascara – Tarte Lights Camera Lashes (black)

Lipstick – Happy Skin x Disney Ariel Lipstick

Complete with hair & costume……….

Elsa is next in line as my favorite Disney Princess!!! (well… Queen) hahaha if I’m not playing Ariel, it’s usually cause I’m playing Elsa. Personally, I love doing Elsa’s make-up the most because I like how she has more eye make-up than most of the other Princesses (check out the picture above!!!) This makes it more challenging and fun 🙂

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetFor this look, I focused on the eyes. I usually do a smokey eye look with purple shades for Elsa’s make-up. Aside from that, I make sure that my eyebrows aren’t too dark since she’s blonde and so I like to use Etude House’s liquid Brow Gel in super light brown to keep my brows light! For my lips, I always use my Happy Skin Elsa Lipstick! (Note: I don’t usually like dark shades of lipstick on me but for some reason, this works!!!)

Make-up used:

Foundation – NAKED Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector (Light- Medium)

Concealer – Etude House Big Puff Concealer (Sand)

Setting Powder – RCMA Powder

Blush – Happy Skin Enchanted Rose Blush (Peach)

Contour – Tony Moly Contour Stick (darkest shade)

Highlight – Anastasia Glow Kit Sun-dipped (Summer)

Eyeshadow – Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette & Morphe 35W

Brows – Etude House Brow Gel (light brown)

Mascara – Tarte Lights Camera Lashes (black)

Lipstick – Happy Skin x Disney Elsa Lipstick

Complete with hair & costume……

Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of Snow White. Maybe it’s because of the scary witch or because her Prince didn’t even have a name??? IDK I just never liked her. Recently though, I was given the chance to play her… And I have to say that getting to be her was quite fun, especially cause of the make-up (HAHAHA)

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetFor Snow White, it’s all about the lips and eyebrows. I used the Happy Skin Ariel Lipstick + Anna Lipstick cause I don’t have the Snow White one to make it more red. For the eyebrows, I used my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate and I just made sure to really shade my brows so that they’re very dark and prominent. Aside from that, I also did a bit of a smokey eyeshadow look for this one. If you noticed in the movie, Snow has dark eyelids!!! And so I conclude that she started the smokey eye look. *bows*

Make-up used:

Foundation – NAKED Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector (Light- Medium)

Concealer – Etude House Big Puff Concealer (Sand)

Setting Powder – RCMA Powder

Blush – Happy Skin Enchanted Rose Blush (Peach)

Contour – Tony Moly Contour Stick (darkest shade)

Highlight – Make-up Revolution Sugar n Spice (pink highlight shade)

Eyeshadow – Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette & Lorac Pro

Brows – Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (Chocolate)

Mascara – Tarte Lights Camera Lashes (black)

Lipstick – Happy Skin x Disney Ariel Lipstick + Anna Lipstick

Complete with hair & costume…….

Whenever I tell people about my job, the first thing they always as is, “Do you play Belle?” I don’t know, I guess I come across as a Belle??? Believe it or not, I’ve only played Belle twice. But both times have been amazing. I would like to be her again and again. I feel like Belle is such a classy princess and so you’ll notice that my make-up for her is very elegant and simple.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetFor this look, the key was SIMPLICITY. Belle is a simple princess who doesn’t need royalty or riches. Give her a book and she’s good!!! And so I kept the make-up light. I kept my eyeshadow simple by using pink for the base and using dark brown for the crease. I also added a bit of gold/bronze in the middle of the lid to add a bit more ‘hmph’. As for the eyebrows, they’re a bit darker than Elsa’s but still light. For the cheeks and contour, I kept it very natural looking. For the lips, again I used Happy Skin x Disney, Belle’s shade!

Make-up used:

Foundation – NAKED Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector (Light- Medium)

Concealer – Etude House Big Puff Concealer (Sand)

Setting Powder – RCMA Powder

Blush – Happy Skin Enchanted Rose Blush (Peach)

Contour – Tony Moly Contour Stick (darkest shade)

Highlight – Anastasia Glow Kit Sun Dipped (summer)

Eyeshadow – Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette & Juvia’s (Nubian 2 palette)

Brows – K- Palette Eyebrow powder (dark brown)

Mascara – Tarte Lights Camera Lashes (black)

Lipstick – Happy Skin x Disney Belle Lipstick

Complete with hair & costume…….

So that was it for my Princess post but I can assure you there will be many more! 😉

Stay tuned for my next post about my day trip to Zambales! 😊

Have no fear! Oil & Water Cleansers are here! 😉

Removing a full face of make-up can be such a hassle sometimes. Especially when all you wanna do is jump straight into bed after a long day. I for one get really lazy sometimes. I remember when I would get home, my face still full of show make-up. I’d look at myself in the mirror and debate whether to just rinse with soap and water or actually put some effort to clean everything off. To be honest, I regret the times I chose to not even try. Because in the end, it took a toll on my skin. And so I’m here to tell you to CLEAN YOUR FACE. CLEAN EVERYTHING OFF, every last bit of make-up, oil and dirt. Still lazy to do so?

Well have no fear because oil and water cleansers are here!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

First of all, what are oil and water cleansers?

Oil cleansers are designed to take off all sorts of make-up as well as the excess oil and dirt from your face, as well as cleanse your pores at the same time. These can come in a liquid form or in the form of a balm.

Water cleansers ,on the other hand, are designed to take off your make-up as well as to clean and exfoliate your face (depending on the type of water cleanser). Some are even designed to moisturize and refresh your skin the process!

These are types of cleansers used in a new process popular in Korean Skincare routines, the double cleansing. This is to ensure that your skin is rid of all the make-up and dirt before applying the other treatments in your routine.

For this blog post, I chose 4 cleaners that I regularly use: 2 water cleansers and 2 oil cleansers. These cleansers are what you can use instead of your regular make-up remover to take it a notch higher! Calling all lazy girls, you might wanna read up!

Each cleanser was rated in terms of one, PACKAGING, how the cleanser is presented, two, EFFECTIVENESS, how effective it is in terms of what it says it can do, three, MAKE-UP REMOVING SKILLS, how good of a make-up remover it is, and four, PRICE, how affordable or how fair the price is.

This product is designed to remove all your make-up, as well as clean and moisturize your skin in the process.

It doesn’t come with a box (most of these don’t). You buy it just like this! It’s a pretty small bottle (100 mL). The cap flips open and close. Be careful though because it pours out easily and so sometimes you can waste the product if you’re not careful.

Ingredients list:

As you can see, after using the BIODERMA water cleasner, there was still make-up left on my hand, specifically some blush and a lot of eyeliner. Based on this trial, I think that if you were to use this cleanser, it would be best to use another make-up remover for your eye make-up to make sure that everything gets off.

Also, while using this cleanser, I didn’t really notice my skin becoming more moisturized as it said it would do. And so sadly, for me, this turned out to be just like my regular make-up remover which is unfortunate considering that it’s pretty pricey.

Packaging: 8/10

Effectiveness: 7/10

Make-up removing skills: 7/10

Price: 6/10

I bought this in PCX for P488!

2. SON&PARK Beauty Water

Beauty Water isn’t just a water cleanser. It also tones the skin as well as exfoliates it. This was a 2015 Soko Beauty Glam Award Winner for its effectiveness and multi-tasking abilities. It also has a pH of 4.5 and so it provides a good base for other skincare products to be put on top.

It comes in this small bottle. I got the 60mL one just to try it out. The cap twists on and off (be careful cause you may lose it hahaha). What I like about the packaging is that the hole is tiny and it’s controlled. It’s not like Bioderma that if you put it upside down, it would just spill out.

Ingredients list:

As you can see, after cleansing there still seems to be a bit of eye-liner left on my hand. And so it may not be the best make-up remover BUT I have to say that this makes a pretty good toner. I’ve been using this before putting make-up as well as to refresh my skin and it feels amazing plus it smells really good! It’s a bit pricey though. This little 60 mL bottle was P400! But I think it’s worth it.

Before you jump in though and spend 2K on a big bottle, you can do the same thing I did which was to first try the small one out and see how it works!

Packaging: 9/10

Effectiveness: 9/10

Make-up removing skills: 8/10

Price: 8/10

I bought this in an instagram shop: @darabeautymarket for P400! Check out the shop! They sell a lot of Korean skincare products! 🙂

3. BIORÉ Rinse Off Make-up Remover Cleansing Oil

I bought this just a few weeks ago and now I’m wondering why I didn’t buy it sooner…

This is a Japanese Oil Cleanser! It’s designed to remove all your make-up. It takes two squirts! Rub it all over your face, rinse it off, and all your make-up should be gone!

For the packaging, it comes in this purple bottle. It comes with a lock thingy that helps make sure that if you put it in your bag it doesn’t spill all over (not in the picture though) but it’s a pretty big bottle and so it’s a bit hard to take it around unless you bring a big bag with you all the time.

Ingredients List:

(For the oil cleansers, I decided to use a cotton pad before rinsing which is also another way to do it so that I can show how it is compared to the water cleansers)

As you can see pretty much all the make-up has disappeared! I used two squirts on the cotton pad, wiped the make-up off, rinsed and then voila! All the make-up disappeared! I have to say this is a pretty effective oil cleanser! And the price is great! P299 for a big 150mL bottle from Watsons! The only disadvantage I would say it that it makes my skin feel a bit oilier (my skin is combo/oily) because of the fact that it’s liquid and so I would suggest that if you can, avoid using this everyday (if you’re oily skinned) and only use it when you need to take off a lot of make-up!

Packaging: 9/10

Effectiveness: 9/10

Make-up removing skills: 10/10

Price: 10/10

I bought this in Watson’s for P299!

4. Banila Co. Clean it Zero

Last but definitely NOT THE LEAST is Clean it zero!!! Unlike Bioré, Clean it Zero is a balm. It is designed to remove all your make-up as well as to remove all the excess oil and dirt from your skin after a long day.

It comes in 4 kinds. I have the pink one which is basically the regular one. It comes in a tub. But in this picture, you see the bigger sized tub! (I’ll explain why I have it later 😉 The packaging is cute and simple but I guess the only disadvntage would be that it’s not really portable? It’s pretty big and heavy and so sure, you can take it with you out of town, but it won’t be easy to use it as an emergency make-up remover during the day.

Ingredients List:

Let me just say, THIS IS THE BOMB. I’ve been using this since last year and I have been loving it ever since! This is my third tub!!! I even had to buy a bigger one because I literally use this everyday (so I wanted to make tipid) cause it’s really pricey! But as you can see, it is SUPER EFFECTIVE in removing make-up and cleaning my skin! Ultimately, I prefer to use this over Bioré because it’s a balm and balms don’t make me feel as oily as liquid oil cleansers. And aside from that, I don’t only feel that all the make-up is removed but all the dirt and excess oil as well!

Packaging: 9/10

Effectiveness: 10/10

Make-up removing skills: 10/10

Price: 8/10

I bought this in Zalora for P1,299! But you can buy this in Althea for a cheaper price! It’s still pretty pricey but I can promise you, it’s worth it!

Banila Co. Clean it Zero remains to be the best cleanser for me. It removes my make-up, cleans my skin and makes me feel squeaky clean afterwards. Bioré comes in second! I would actually bring it with me during the day if ever I have a show/gig because with the packaging, I can easily bring it around compared to the oil balm, Banila Co. As for the water cleansers, I only use them if I want a refresher during the day or if I’m wearing super light make-up and don’t need to use my heavy oil cleanser.

If you don’t mind taking your time removing your make-up then water cleansers are for you. Also, if you prefer a neater way to do it! But if you’re lazy and wanna take off all your make-up in one go then an oil cleanser would suit you better.

At the end of the day what matters is that you go to sleep with a clean face!

NO MAKE-UP! NO EXCESS OIL! NO DIRT! Because how you care for your face at night will reflect how you’ll look in the morning!

Til the next post xx
